“But, my Lord, how can we be so quiet about this and the lamentable outcome of the General Chapter?”
“The General Chapter, he answered, was a disaster; I signed my name there, because it was a collegial action, but certainly not to say that I agreed with the contents. Therefore trust what the generals do, take your assignment in France and be quiet for at least three months.”
Comment:
Presuming Fr Chazal's account of this conversation is accurate...
1) Proof that we cannot count on Bishop Tissier to lead a counterrevolution
2) He prefers a slow death of the SSPX to open resistence to Menzingen, which is what the silence he recommends will bring
3) He acknowledges having signed the scandalous declaration against his conscience
4) He acknowledges practicing collegiality
5) The 2 bishops will stay quiet until Bishop Fellay has completed his revolution.
Conclusion: How long, Bishop Williamson???
PS: I read an account elsewhere that Bishop Williamson will never be expelled from the SSPX, because Rome wants the death of tradition, while expelling Bishop Williamson (which would result in the immediate formation of a new traditional organization radically opposed to both Menzingen and Rome) would guarantee its survival. Not sure why the other 2 bishops don't get this and raise their voices loudly (since they too would have to be tolerated for the same reasons).
Prognosis: A slow death via leftward drift (notice the is no substantial difference between content on DICI and any PCED website, as Fr Chazal points out), until the SSPX has become palatable to Rome, even in the absence of a written deal.
How long, Bishop Williamson?!?!
