    • Just wondering why would the people at "Vox Catholica" claim on their website to be independent Catholics, but are actually based out of an SSPX Priory ?

    • Well technically the SSPX is neither an order nor a diocese, right? I don't see where they are lying, they just aren't transparent about being SSPX.

     ;D Well that one was easy. And true. Doesn't mean I agree with the tactic. I can only guess it is aimed at attracting conservatives and NO by side-stepping the very discussions that are the reason for the SSPX existence. The SSPX is, or was, a sign of contradiction and if people are put off by that, that is their loss and their choice to refuse grace. The SSPX should not leave its name off anything it does. -- imho.

    No! I've avoided the entire issue, apart from watching one of Fr Purdy's videos, because honestly both sides sound a little crazy to me. It is not the hill I want to die on. In that one video we had already noticed that there was no mention of SSPX. If we hadn't already known who Fr. Purdy was, we would have had no idea it was SSPX related. Even the graphics and music were quite modern and NO. Maybe the other videos are different but we were good with one.

    Vox Catholica is doing business in an SSPX Priory.

    They are SSPX all the way, but disguising that fact and acting as if they are independent.

    And if some dupe donated to them, the money was going straight to the SSPX Florida priory. 

    Wait a minute... this practice is actually illegal :furtive:

    This is okay with you?  If so, it must be part of the "new Catholic identity" the SSPX is re-branding to?


    And by the SSPX's own description of themselves, they include diocesean recognition. 

    “A priestly society of common life without vows, Canonically irregular, but having partial recognition by Rome".

    This is very manifest now with the presence of a Novus ordo presbyter at SSPX marriages.
