Politics can determine any legal outcome. If there is enough influence to bear on producing a particular verdict, no amount of resources, court manipulation or legislation will be spared to that end. The UK system does now stage retrials in pursuit of politically inspired verdicts. In other words, like in EC elections, go through the process again and get it right this time!

If I were of a more conspiratorial character I might think certain powers are pushing to further discredit the good Bishop at a time when he is speaking out.

Perhaps it is just a coincidence.

Yep, good intuition!

If I were Bp. Williamson's defense attorney, I'd subpoena Max Krah's telephone and email communications.

Surely Maxie, a Menzingen employee, is a trustworty lawyer. But after seeing his antics in the first court trial, I'd like to verify that he isn't communicating with the Regensburg prosecuter's office.

Oh, I suppose I should trust Maxie, the Menzingen employee, but I'd like to verify that he isn't communicating with the Renesburg prosecuter's office.

You would never know, communications are likely to be done via his "associates" in the network.

Imagine sending simple letters to German officials stating "I do not believe any part of Jєωιѕн fables. No gas chambers, no 6 million, none of it."

Other letters could read "I survived the h0Ɩ0h0αx."

How funny it would be if they were swamped with a mountain of such letters poking fun at their foolish credulity.
