I have graciously received permission to post an appeal on behalf of the Traditional Dominican fathers and sisters of Avrille, France. I am a Tertiary with these Dominicans and have learned of their current financial crisis.

DOMINICANS OF AVRILLÉ NEED OUR HELP

Sitting by and watching everything for which we have fought for so long seeming to fall down around us can invoke a feeling of helpless frustration. If you really long to do something material to help in the fight for Traditional Catholicism, I have a timely suggestion for you.

The Traditional Dominican fathers of Avrillé, France (and their cloistered sisters who live nearby) are in urgent need of financial support. These strong stalwarts of Traditional Catholicism need our help. They have had at least one preaching/retreat event cancelled by those who shall remain nameless.

To quote one of the fathers:

We have literally run out of all funds, and yet we still have to keep up with monthly utilities payments, salaries for the school personnel, taxes, etc... With the economic crisis, donations have become rare and many families are not able to pay the tuition for our schools. We are happy to be all the more dependent on Providence, and we offer joyously our privations for the spiritual and material benefit of our benefactors (for whom we pray every day).

I really don't know how that works. If you are not in one of the countries listed, then you might as well try the international check. I'm sure the good fathers will let you know if there is a problem.

Don't worry! I'll find the way to make sure they get my donations. When the faithful priests like the Dominicans of Avrille come out in the open to resist Menzingen, then I know I can trust them. From now on folks: who can we trust??? "Watch & pray!" as our Lord warned us!

It does look like Menzingen has stopped/cut down funding the Dominicans. Some years ago one of them told me how dependent they were on the SSPX for both their pastoral outreach as well as their funds

Will this effect the Dominicans at the SSPX school in New Zealand? Also I think they are coming to Tynong in Australia.

Everyone please slow down. I have been asked to publish a clarification which I am working on right now. Evidently the situation is not a dire as I thought. They do still need our help and are always worthy of our donations, but the wolf is not at the door.

I will re-post as soon as I clarify everything with them. Working via e-mail is not the most efficient means for clarity and understanding.

I apologize for my mistakes and will get back to all of you as soon as possible.

The Dominicans in New Zealand are the Dominican Sisters of Wanganui. They are their own foundation and, while Dominican, are not part of Avrille. They now have a foundation in Australia as well and are certainly worthy of your support.

Are the traditional Dominican Fathers still affiliated with the SSPX after their critical position on Msgr. Fellay's moves? How are they and what's their status now?

Are the traditional Dominican Fathers still affiliated with the SSPX after their critical position on Msgr. Fellay's moves? How are they and what's their status now?

More importantly, are they still critical of Menzingen's new orientation towards Rome?

I haven't heard a peep from them since they received their recent ordinations?

Was that part of the deal?

I would not donate to them until/unless they publicly state their current position!
