  • We have a Rebel Alliance, an Empire bent on crushing the rebellion, etc.

I'm sure several sweet ladies have already wrote to Bishop Williamson:
"Help us, Bishop Williamson. You're our only hope."

And we've seen the disdainful attitude towards the Rebellion by Rorate Caeli and Menzingen itself in various press releases and sermons:
    "Rebel scuм!"

I think we can all figure out who Darth Vader and the Emperor are...
(Hint: Krah has to be in there somewhere -- but then again, so does Pope Benedict XVI)

  • Krah would probably be one of the Imperial Guard.  Grand Moff Tarkin is totally played by Federico Lombardi.

  • SSPX Crisis Theme:

    In the Halls of Menzingen:

An SSPX Priest, somewhere in the world, considering what he should do

    CathInfo:

    The end game struggle:

(I won't say who is who, but am I the only one who says to himself "Time for a conclave" at the end of the video?)

(I wanted to post Lapti Nek as being Rorate Caeli -- but the costumes in the video are unacceptable.)

  • Admiral Ackbar has a message for those who are enthusiastic about following Bishop Fellay and Krah into the Concilliar Church:

    Pray for me, always.

  • Personally I've always felt we're living out Lord of the Rings.

Like Eomer - Having to defend the whole kingdom from constant attack with only a small following, in open defiance of his uncle King Theoden who in following the advice of his counselor Grima "Wormtong" welcomes the invading orc armies with open arms. Though the odds are against him he keeps fighting so long as he is able, until Gandalf comes and "exorcises" Theoden, casts out Wormtong from the realm, and rehabilitates the king. In the end, Eomer and his followers are the ones who save the kingdom of Rohan from annihilation.

I've always seen the legacy of +ABL personified in Eomer.

    Gotta run.

One priest of the Asia District has sarcastically said that Archbishop Lefebvre's book I Accuse The Council should be republished (by Angelus Press/Rostand) as: I Accuse the INTERPRETATIONS of the Council!

  • Bishop Williamson could have said to the SG: "If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine."

It's true -- he's been cast into exile, where he could no longer affect the "land of the living" -- he's not physically present at any parish or seminary now. But in his new spiritual form (the Internet) he can actually reach more people and do more good for Tradition.

He also is remotely inspiring many young Luke Skywalkers to do massive damage to the Empire (the pro-Accord faction)-- just like Obi-Wan inspired and helped Luke Skywalker after his death.

The Star Wars analogy has many flaws, particularly this one: Star Wars was a dramatic movie, so it all centered around ONE hero, Luke Skywalker. But in "Trad Wars", there are MANY Luke Skywalkers who start websites, start petitions, instruct the ignorant, talk to fellow parishioners, contribute to Catholic fora, and take all kinds of action calculated to win the fight. Even if you count "major players", there is certainly more than one or two.

Fr. Joseph Pfeiffer, Fr. Chazal, the 3 Bishops, and many others. I guess one can be Admiral Ackbar, one can be Han Solo, etc. :)

I just hope the Superior General converts at the end.

Well, you never see Pope Benedict and Emperor Palpatine together

  • Sith Emperor        -  Pope Benedict XVI
    Admiral Piett        - Fr. Rostand
Grand Moff Tarkin - Fr. Schmidberger
Obi-Wan Kenobi   - Bishop Williamson (the jury is out)
Yoda                   - Bishop Williamson (the jury is out)
Luke Skywalker    - (Many trads leading the Rebel Alliance)
                              - Alternate: Since the Force is strong with him, he represents                   Fr. Pfeiffer, Fr. Chazal, and the other clerics of the resistance.
    Han Solo              - CathInfo
    Chewbacca           - ???
    Leia                     - ???
    Jabba the Hutt       - ???
    Boba Fett              - ???

I wouldn't normally identify CathInfo or myself with Han Solo (it's kind of like bragging, right?), but 1. he's a layman and 2. he lent his services -- a vehicle -- to important agents of the Rebellion: Luke, Obi-Wan, Leia, etc. so they could use their unique powers to get the job done.

Then again, the "Force" in Trad Wars could be interpreted as a combination of the State of Grace, clear reasoning/thinking, decent education on Catholicism and the Crisis, ability to write well and influence others.

The Dark Side would be twisting that training (understanding human nature, ability to write/speak convincingly, using the understanding of how Catholics think) and mixing it with anger/hatred/violence (modern political techniques, brainwashing, manipulating people's thinking, using sophisms and deception) to achieve "evil" ends.

The Good Side of the force uses clear reasoning; the Dark Side uses sophisms, straw man arguments, secrecy and evasion. Those are the seductive tools of the Dark Side that the "Good Side" can never use, no matter how desperate things get. That would be turning to the Dark Side.

Just like any trained Jedi Knight can become superficially more "powerful" by turning to the Dark Side, any priest can become more politically powerful by resorting to sophisms, straw man arguments, etc. -- abusing his training in Logic, etc. to manipulate people and achieve more power.

Spending time with Yoda or another Jedi master would be the equivalent of going to a (trad) Seminary for a time.

Speaking of Yoda, Bishop Williamson is more like Yoda in many ways. "For 800 years have I trained Jedi knights. My own counsel will I follow on who is to be trained." Bishop Williamson's career has mostly been as a professor -- training young men to become Jedi Knights (seminarians to become priests).

Of course, his appearance/bearing is more like Obi-Wan -- they even both have a British accent!

I don't know, though...Bishop Williamson is a bit eccentric like Yoda. Of course, BOTH stayed faithful to the end.

  • I think I'll refrain from comparing Trads to Star Wars characters since Star Wars has New Age crap in it.
Please ignore ALL of my posts. I was naive during my time posting on this forum and didn’t know any better. I retract and deeply regret any and all uncharitable or erroneous statements I ever made here.

If CathInfo is Solo's vehicle, who do you suppose Han would be, then?

  • Whoever thumbed me down apparently does not believe me that Star Wars is part of the New Age. My apologies, I should have provided proof for that statement. Here's an article that shows precisely WHY Star Wars is part of the New Age (I used to have a better source than this one, but I can no longer find it... this source says that Christians can overlook the moral problems in the film if they want to, not what I wanted, but it still proves my point none-the-less that there is filth in Star Wars).
