Note on the Motu Proprio Traditionis Custodes

In the recent past, three popes have canonically legislated on the Holy Mass by means of a Motu Proprio: H.H. John Paul II, H.H. Benedict XVI and H.H. Francis.

All three pontiffs exalted the New Mass. John Paul II demanded that the New Mass be accepted in order to have the right to say the Mass of All Times. Benedict XVI gave the New Mass the title of "Ordinary Rite" and demanded that priests pray it at least in the Easter Triduum. Francis demands that those who benefit from the Motu Proprio not exclude the validity and legitimacy of the liturgical reform, as well as the doctrines emanating from the Second Vatican Council and the magisterium of the conciliar popes.

The three Motu Proprio have in common the acceptance of the new religion. All those who are bound to Rome by some agreement now feel the weight of the hand of the Sovereign Pontiff obliging them to accept this new religion.

Once again, we can see the correct position of Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, who never used a Motu Proprio to legitimize his action, but preserved the Mass of All Times because it is the Mass of Tradition, a Mass that St. Pius V canonized, giving every priest the right to pray it forever, in an indefeasible way.

May Holy Mary, who conquered all heresies, make us follow the path traced by Archbishop Lefebvre and Bishop de Castro Mayer, hastening the long-awaited triumph of the Church, which will come to us precisely through the intercession of her, who is the Mediatrix of all graces.
