  • I thought that this point was very important as this canard keeps getting repeated by the Fellay gang that:

    Quote from: Clint

We must obey the authority, which is only the Superior General
The three other bishops have no authority, they have the same authority as any common priest in the SSPX

    My thoughts on that:
Not listeneing to the advise of the three bishops is most imprudent. They are not like any other priest of the SSPX, they were chosen by Abp. Lefevbre from over 300 priests!

It is very easy to takeover and control an organization, if it is run by one person. Convince, fool, or buy that one person and you control the organization.

If you have four bishops working together, with even a  superior general running the day to day, you have a structure that is held up by four pillars. Any decision that the four make in agreement, will comprise of four minds.

It is far and away wiser to follow the wisdom of three bishops, specially when it entails no change, rather that to follow one bishop who is at odds with his confreres, and is asking for TOTAL change.

  • I find it repugnant that the "three" bishops have so little control of the SSPX.

  • Clint,

I agree. Please turn your bold off and make your font smaller. It is disconcerting to read.

  • Maybe someone else has mentioned this, but I haven't seen it.  Isn't there ANYTHING in the by-laws of the SSPX that the Archbishop set up whereby a Superior General can be removed if he becomes traitorous?  I can’t believe he would not have set up the Society without considering this possibility.  Just as we have impeachment for our Presidents in the US surely there must be someway to remove Bishop Fellay. ??
