  • There is an article on Traditio stating that Frs. Chazal and Pfeiffer have started their own society, the SSPX of the Strict Observance.  Anyone know anything about this?

  • If it were 10:00 PM and I read on Traditio that it was dark outside, I think I'd go peel back the curtains and check for myself.

That's what I think of Traditio.

  • Padre Chazal and Padre Pfeiffer are Priests of the SSPX.

The Apostles of Jesus and Mary.

His Excellency Bishop Fellay and Co. belong to the Surrendered SSPX.

    Kinda like Novus Ordo Catholics.

    Only almost Traditional.

There is no need for them to start a new society.

Bishop Fellay left like the Catholics of Holy Mother Church left after Vatican Council II.

The Surrendered SSPX is now the sons of Vatican Council II B.

  • Anything is possible.  Satan has been playing with Rome like a cat with a mouse for fifty years now.  The mouse is near dead, so Satan has moved on to a more lively one-- the SSPX.  +Fellay and Co. are like catnip to him.

Generally, I would agree.  That begs the question though.  Is this particular piece of information true, or not?

They've never "left" anything nor started anything "new".

Hope that will appease the begging.
And now, we have a perfectly liberal Pope, my very dear brothers. As he goes to this country [the United States]which is founded upon Masonic principles, that is, of a revolution, of a rebellion against God. And, well, he expressed his admira

Traditio appears to have extrapolated from a comment Fr Chazal made in his "War Aims" speech of Sept 21st:

This is what Fr. Chazal said:
    Quote
"Thus, our name remains the same, SSPX. We are just aware that today’s doctrinal slide endangers our engagements, promises and oaths, especially our antimodernist oath, as Fr. Koller said so well in his sermon. We expect lawyers to be unleashed at some stage, but in the worse case, they might be able to retag us as sspx discalced, observants, because ours is a split within the same order, as happened many times in the course of Church History."

    Traditio frequently" extrapolates"

  • Well, the five priests who signed the brave US-Vienna declaration started "operation survival of the True-SSPX", whilst "Bp Fellay and his gang" (© Bishop Williamson) seceded from the true society of Archbishop Lefebvre since years. So materially "Bp Fellay and his gang" started their own society, the Neo-SSPX aka New-SSPX (which is not so new, because it's basically just a FSSP-II).

It's like Vatican II B with the true Church and the Newchurch.

In practise the True-SSPX has a solid number of supporting US SSPX priests who could join sooner or later, and there's a recruiting of traditional priests from all over the world. Suppose Bishop Williamson would be expelled from the Neo-SSPX and would follow the invitation of the True-SSPX to join the US resistance center, there could be a new seminary of the True-SSPX, and a traditional school, and so on.

If this is God's will, we'll see it come true.
If it's not what God wants, we'll see other things.  ... like The Chastisement? :-)

I do not believe so.  It will be a place for faithful priests to go and organize ways to continue bringing the sacraments to the faithful.  A tangible alternative to remaining in an untenable spiritual situation elsewhere in the belief that they have no where to go. And to serve as a sanctuary for those priests who are being persecuted or cast out.

This was its original intent. What happens and the actual shape being  dependant upon the events within the Society and its relations with Rome.
If God eventually provides Episcopal authority, then that also will have a great effect upon the group and what for it might take.

It is not another Society, and the Fathers intend to keep working as priests of the Society of St. Pius X as they were now and in the future.  They firmly intend to continue in the mission to which they were ordained.

What you and j.paul expressed on page 3 would be very good.  We need to pray like we've never prayed before that the resistance will have courage and keep the Faith.  Satan must not have his day.  (I don't know how to quote both of you, so hence, this post.  Sorry).
