OK so I have a question.

Is there some *moral* impediment against priests wearing masks that I'm unaware of, or is this just the "Covid is overblown" kind of thing/

'cause I'm not crazy about the masks but I'm wondering if this is some kind of moral compromise or not.

I suppose a case can be made that it is immoral to intentionally harm yourself by purposely limiting your oxygen supply,  lowering your immunity, and all the other harmful side effects of prolonged mask wearing; especially since the threat or harm of COVID/cold is so low. The cure must not be more harmful than the problem.

Just thinking it out for the first time, but I suppose from a rubrical perspective, a mask could be construed as an illicit vestment:

There is no provision for wearing a mask in the rubrics.

Moreover, how does the priest kiss the altar wearing a mask which blocks the kiss?  Or receive Holy Comminion?

Clearly, a priest wearing a mask would disrupt, impede, and alter the liturgical action at the altar, forcing the priest to repeatedly remove, then reinstall, the mask.

So yes, a priest wearing a mask will have liturgical and moral implications.

And given the overblown hype of COVID19, and the non-effectiveness of the mask as PPE, I’m not sure an argument from necessity would be legitimate.

This would be good to discuss, and even the broader question:  Should people just go along with every one of these NWO directives, allowing the NWO globalist totalitarian antichrist agenda to continue unimpeded, and only resist when they actually command a clear-cut moral compromise?
.
In Michael Davies book, Cranmer's Godly Order, he makes the point that a lot of the early changes to the Mass by Cranmer were not doctrinal, but once they established a pattern of compromise, people accepted it without a whimper when they got to the doctrinal compromise.
.
From a comment in that thread:  "If the SSPX does not go beyond this logic of thinking only of its group interests, it will do NOTHING when the time for the vaccine and the compulsory chip arrives because it will fear in the same way as it fears reprisals at present ."
.
I would be interested in discussion of when people should start resisting?  It seems dangerous, stupid & naive to say wait until they absolutely command us to sin.  If people would have ignored all the lockdown demands from the get-go, we wouldn't be where we are now.  Also, aren't we allowed to resist unjust commands?
