I'd expect that the dates of U.S. confirmations would be controlled from Menzingen, to arrange as pleasant a tour for Bp. Fellay as possible. If so,
somebody in Menzingen certainly rejected conventional wisdom about when to visit locations in the U.S.A., as exemplified by
today's weather, according to <
http://www.weather.com/weather/today/>:
Post Falls,
Idaho:
34°F &
snow at 6 a.m. PDT; forecast high 54°F & 'scattered
thunder-storms' (50% chance of rain); forecast overnight
low 41°F & 70% chance of
rain.
Saint Paul,
Minnesota: 43°F & 'mostly cloudy' ("Feels Like
36°F") ca. 8:00 a.m. CT; forecast high 47°F & 70% chance of
rain; forecast overnight
low 42°F & 70% chance of
rain.
Sanford (Seminole Co.),
Florida: 70°F &
sunny at 9:30 a.m. EDT; forecast high 86°F & 'mostly sunny' with 10% chance of
rain; forecast overnight
low 64°F & 'partly cloudy' with no chance of rain.
Miami,
Florida: 71°F & 'partly cloudy' at 9:30 a.m. EDT; forecast high 84°F & 'partly cloudy' with no chance of rain; forecast overnight
low 69°F &
clear with no chance of rain.
By mid June, the "Sunshine State" will be officially 2 weeks into
Hurricane Season, and the weather will almost certainly have attained its fully oppressive summer
heat & humidity.
But seeing that Bp. Fellay will already be in Florida (Sanford) on June 15 (Trinity Sunday), why wouldn't he try to fly into Miami on Saturday, June 14, instead? That's assuming that Saturday would be
much more convenient for his south-Florida faithful. It's not as if he could bask in the south-Florida sun from the scheduled Monday until the weekend; the posting by 'curioustrad' (April 22, 2014, 7:51 pm) shows that he's scheduled to be in Kansas on the Wednesday 2 days later.
