Somewhat relevant to the indult Mass attendance thread, in which Dusty Actual referenced the juring priests/faithful as an historically justified precedent of refusing to attend Mass on Sunday, despite the availability/proximity of valid Masses.
Certainly, there are several distinctions to be made between that crisis and the present one, but there are also some similarities.
I would like to elicit commentary in this thread to discuss to what extent, if any, the proper Catholic response to indult Mass attendance should/should not parallel the earlier French Catholics’ abstention from Mass attendance at churches where the priest had signed the Civil Constitution Oath.
