  • BTW, as to the above, if it is contemporary, it was an error on my part, and I apologize.  I did not research the link.  I operated under the assumption that it was an Eastern-rite Te Deum.   My point being that every corner of the world owes +Williamson a debt of gratitude for his strength, courage and loyalty to ABL and Holy Mother Church.

  • It's the correct Te Deum, except your "versicles" and "responses" are still part of the Te Deum hymn. The correct versicles and responses are different:

    V. Benedicámus Patrem et Fílium cuм Sancto Spíritu.
    R. Laudémus et superexaltémus eum in s æ´cula.
    V. Benedíctus es Dómine in firmaménto cæli.

R. Amen.

    V. Let us bless the Father and the Son with  the Holy Spirit.
    R. Let us praise and exalt Him above all for ever.
    V. Blessed be the Lord in the firmament of heaven.
    R. To be praised, and glorified, and exalted above all for ever.
    V. Lord hear my prayer.
    R. And let my cry come unto Thee.
    V. The Lord be with you.
    R. And with thy spirit.

Let us pray: O God, whose mercies are numberless and the treasure of whose goodness has no end, we give thanks to Thy most gracious Majesty for the gifts Thou  hast  bestowed,  beseeching  Thy  mercy,  that  as  Thou  grantest  the  petitions  of  those  who  ask,  so  not  forsaking  them,  Thou  wilt  prepare  them  for rewards to come. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

It is extremely rare to find anybody apologizing on something they said. Very impressive!

Nothing impressive about it, sspxbvm.  I was attempting to dig myself out of the hole I put myself in.  No small feat.  I have to admit, though, musically speaking, I would be interested in listening to a traditional Catholic Eastern-rite Te Deum.  Does anyone know of any?  I remember Neil Obstat posting the following link under The Sacred: Catholic Liturgy, Chant, Prayers, the topic being Gregorian Chant.  It was posted on July 19, 2012.

It's worth listening to, if you haven't heard it.  The choir is Russian, but the language is Latin.  Thanks again, Neil.

  • Here is something to contemplate.  We should pray for the return of the Russian Orthodox to the fold of the true One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, and not the post conciliar one.  It is, after all, what Our Lady of Fatima desires.  Is it not?

  • Here is another statement about Bishop Williamson, said in a sermon recently by an independant priest in USA. Very good words, me thinks :

»... and that is to remain firmly anchored to eternal truth, which is opposed to liberalism. Because eternal truth respects God’s order - the fact that God is at the head of things. And that’s really what’s at the root of the feast of Christ the King, is that Christ is the King not only of us while we’re in this church, but He’s the King of our lives. He’s the King of our society beyond the church. And Bishop Williamson is standing up, standing up for the order of God against the liberalism – the departure from God’s order - that has infected the Society. For which reason he was expelled.

Just as, for the same reason we could say that Archbishop Lefebvre was suspended a divinis by Pope Paul VI because he stood up for the order of God. And what did Our Lord say to the Apostles: “They will expel you from the ѕуηαgσgυєs.” [John 16:2] So there’s no doubt that the bishop who is standing for Catholic truth is Bishop Williamson, and the bishop that is leading us to liberalism is Bishop Fellay. Liberalism is against God. It’s against reality. And the bishop makes that point about the liberals living in a dream world.«
