In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. So be it.
Of course, I must now watch my words, since everything is recorded and can be heard so no swearing and no words against the service. I will remain silent, just look here.
Dear Reverend Fathers and Ministers, Paul, and all the faithful present here,
I'm sure you're all delighted to be here. And you are right to be, because it is certainly an important event for all of us. Each of you, and each of us as well, on this side of the chapel-gymnasium.
1ST PART THE PRIEST'S COMMITMENT TO THE FAITHFUL
I want to explain to you what will be accomplished.
Unfortunately, you are not all as comfortable in Latin as you should be. So you might miss a word or another from the bishop today. That is why I intend to read part of the text that the bishop will pronounce, because these texts explain so clearly what is happening. What will happen today.
The liturgy is also designed for this purpose. First of all to glorify God, but also for yourselves, for your own sanctification. So that, through the liturgy, you can also understand your faith. The Mass instructs, because it is celebrated every day. And those who can attend Mass every day, by going there and paying great attention to it, also learn their faith.
And then, in extraordinary circuмstances like today, we have an ordination.
Ordination itself is also an explanation of the doctrine of the faith of the Catholic religion. And that's why I read it to you. You will of course miss the beauty of Latin, but you will know what the bishop will accomplish.
You think Paul will become a priest. "That's enough for us! "
But what does the priesthood mean according to the Church? Why a priest? Why does the Church want a priest? For what purpose is there a priest? Just to dress like this? And when he is consecrated bishop, to dress like a Christmas tree? Is that the goal?
Well, the Church will tell you today why. So be patient, I guess there's nothing else to do. On this day, even if it's not raining and you could go out. But listen carefully to what the Church accomplishes before you.
First of all, the bishop speaks to you, whether you believe him or not. He speaks to you, because listen how beautiful this image is. Since these are the words that the bishop will pronounce,
"Since dear brothers, the master of a ship and the passengers have common reasons for safety or fear, in the same way, those who have a common interest should agree on their opinion. "
We are like the captain of a ship and everyone on board. We all fear the same things and appreciate the same things. If there is a storm, it affects both the captain and all the sailors, all the passengers who are on this ship.
And so, the Church says by this image: we also address you, because you too, on this side, are concerned with what is happening before your eyes. It's not just me who should worry, but you too. And the Church says, this is necessary so that the faithful can more easily submit to obedience. to the one who is ordained, to whom they have given their consent.
Yes, because the priest will then tell you what to do. You will never obey, of course, because you always do what you want, but nevertheless, his role will be to tell you what to do. And you would obey more easily if he is the one you yourself accepted and wanted as a priest, says the Church.
And then, the Church continues by saying that there are things, as far as I know as a bishop, this person seems ready for the honor granted to him, as far as I know. But it could be that you, sitting there, have seen something, know something that I don't know, and you might want to say it, because there could be a problem in this ordination that I don't know but you don't know.
So the bishop says, well, if you have something to say, speak now and tell me, because otherwise it will be too late, and if you do not speak, it will be your fault.
Nevertheless, that he is aware of his own condition, the one who would like to say something, that he is aware of his own condition. Remember, we are all sinners, so before you speak, also think about yourself.
But these words of the Church are not the fruit of chance, they all have a meaning and an intention.
You are also involved in this, you have a responsibility in this, not only me, but you too.
Then the bishop will continue and talk to him.
"Very dear child, who is about to be consecrated to the priestly function, strive to receive it with dignity and to exercise its function in a commendable manner, for it is the duty of the priest to offer sacrifice, to bless, to govern, to preach, to baptize. "
This is what a priest does. In just a few words, as you can see, the Church tells you, what is the purpose of the priesthood.
And then the Church speaks, in the Pontifical of course, talks about the origin of the priesthood, why priests. And, of course, goes back to Scripture, the Old Testament first, then the New, then to the present day.
The Old Testament: the Church speaks of Moses.
"Our Lord God has commanded Moses to choose seventy men from all Israel as his helpers. "
Moses chose seventy men to be his helpers.
"And you indeed," said the bishop to the ordinand, "you are indeed depicted in these seventy ancients, if by the sevenfold Spirit observing the Ten Commandments of the Lord, you are virtuous and perfect in knowledge and work. You will be one of these seventy helpers.
In the New Testament: Our Lord in the New Testament chose the seventy-two and sent them two by two before him to preach. As Moses chose seventy, our Lord chose seventy-two to fulfill the duty of preaching, spreading the Gospel, bringing faith to our world. Seventy-two helpers of our Lord.
And you were chosen, you were chosen, said the Church. You can be worthily chosen as the help of Moses and the twelve apostles of the Catholic bishops who are prefigured in Moses and the apostles.
There you really have the reason why the Church decided to ordain priests.
So that, like the seventy elders of Moses, the seventy-two helpers of our Lord Jesus Christ, priests can also be sent to preach, to baptize, to govern, to offer sacrifice, to bless.
"You, therefore, beloved child, have been chosen by the voice of our brothers to be consecrated as our poor guardian.
Preserve the purity of your life in a spotless holiness. Keep in mind what you do. That your conduct is in accordance with the actions you take. "
How could this be clearer than that? Keep in mind what you do.
You have been chosen by the bishop, by the Church, and by you too, who are witnesses of what is happening today, co-responsible for the event. And you will give an account of this on the day of your own judgment, as I will, and the Church will say it.
"Let your conduct be in accordance with the action you perform," said the Church, "so that neither we may be condemned by the Lord for having promoted you to such a high office, nor you for having received it, but that both of us may rather be considered worthy of the reward. "
It's scary, it's terrifying, for me, especially, to take such a responsibility, and for him, of course, because if we're wrong...
And then the part where the priest will be ordained, the preface that the bishop will sing, here too the Church expresses again the faith of what the priesthood is.
"So having established bishops to govern the people, you have chosen as their companions and helpers, men, following in rank and dignity. "
For of course, the bishops cannot do everything, cannot be everywhere, like Moses, like the apostles, they too needed help first, so that the Church could grow and strengthen itself and save more and more souls. And you know it, you see it, especially in the way our apostolate is made. The bishop cannot be everywhere, cannot be there at 10 a.m. on Sunday whenever you want, in several places at the same time. No, even if you think he could, it's impossible.
So he needs priests, and more and more so that you can just go to mass at 10 o'clock, 10:30, so you don't have to wake up like saints, you know, when it's more convenient for you as usual. But we need priests for that.
All this makes sense, doesn't it?
"This is why we beg you, O Lord, grant us also the same help to our weakness, which, to the extent that it is greater than theirs, is all the more in need of such assistance. "
The bishop speaks in fear, I am weak, I can't do it, give me help, God, give me help. And so the words that make him a priest.
"We therefore implore you, Father Almighty, to give the dignity of the priesthood to this, your servant, renewing in him the spirit of holiness, so that he may receive from you this office following ours in dignity, and that the example of his life is for others an incitement to virtue. "
And the preface to the priest's consecration or ordination ends with an explanation of what the priest should be.
"That he shows in himself justice, constancy, mercy, strength and all other virtues. Let him preach by example, confirm by admonition, and preserve pure and spotless the gift of his ministry. And that he changes by the holy words of consecration, bread and wine, in the body and blood of your Son. Like the tribute of your people. And on the day of the just and eternal judgment of God, may he with conscience, pure with true faith and full of the Holy Spirit, rise by a spotless charity towards a perfect man, towards the measure of the age of the fullness of Christ. "
This is what the Church expects from a priest. And this is what will be done today. This priest, in this condition, with this goal.
2ND PART: THE REASONS FOR THIS EXTRAORDINARY ORDER
But why, why are we here in this gym? Why couldn't we be in a beautiful church? Don't ceremonies like this deserve the beauty, the greatness of a church? They certainly deserve it. Why couldn't we perform these rites a few hundred meters down the road in a church? Lough
We all know why.
It is because what we do today is exactly what the Church wants us to do. It is the priest who is made today, the one I tried with the limits of my ability to explain to you. And that's why we are outside these buildings.
Because in these buildings, they no longer want priests of this kind. It's a new priesthood for new goals, men with different qualities that they want. They don't want what the Church has always done.
We see it because we have guests today from Italy who suffer because they try to be those priests that the Pontifical wants them to be. They suffer the persecution of the hierarchy of their bishops because they preach the doctrine for which they were ordained. Because they say the Mass that God himself left us to be celebrated until the end of time. For this reason, they are placed outside the buildings. They both left their parishes for this decision to follow the tradition, to follow the Catholic Church.
It is therefore appropriate that this day has been chosen for the ordination.
Of course, it is a working day and some people have not been able to travel. I understand. Nevertheless, the choice was made for several reasons.
The first is frivolous, of course. In fact, he is American and that is his problem. And they have Thanksgiving which is a totally pagan event. But for them, it's more than Christmas. And I thought maybe you could go home as a priest that day.
But in fact, today is also an anniversary of Monsignor Lefebvre's declaration. Last year it was 50 years. Today, it's 51.
Nevertheless, this statement maintains its importance and value today, I hope for all of us.
And it is because of what Bishop Lefebvre says in this statement that we are here and not in a beautiful church. As beautiful as it can be here in this country. But nevertheless, I will read you some passages of this as well.
You know it, I'm sure. But I want you to print it in your hearts and minds.
For that is why we suffer so much from those who should help us fulfill the purpose for which the Church is here.
You suffer because your priests, your bishops do not want to teach you. They don't want to give you the sacraments and graces as they should.
We also suffer. Because everyone says that we are out of the Church, that we are excommunicated, that we are evil. I agree with the third as far as I am concerned.
But we cannot accept submission just to have a church.
"We attach ourselves with all our heart and soul to Catholic Rome, guardian of the Catholic faith and the traditions necessary to preserve this faith. In Rome, mistress of wisdom and truth. "
This is what we are. We are Catholics. Simply Catholics.
"All these reforms have indeed contributed and still contribute to the destruction of the Church. To the ruin of the priesthood, to the abolition of the sacrifice of the Mass and the sacraments. "
The destruction of the Church. We see it day after day.
Not a week goes by without a novelty, without something extraordinary but in the negative sense coming out of the Holy See of Rome. Every week, we hear something that scandalizes the years of the Catholic faithful.
Most recently, the attacks against Notre-Dame.
We wonder why? Did they have nothing else to do but write a text to make the greatness of the Mother of God disappear? To no longer be called a co-redemptor or mediator? Is it true that there is no other problem in the Church than this one?
Every week, every week, the destruction of the Church, they demolish themselves.
The ruin of the priesthood. Of course, they changed the meaning of the priesthood. For them, the priest is no longer what we have just explained. It's something else, someone else, another role in the community, another goal.
The abolition of the sacrifice of the Mass. Well, I told you, we are here in front of two priests who are exemplary priests. You are guilty of saying the old Mass. It's your crime. You are guilty, a criminal, because you say the Mass as it was said since the beginning of Christianity. The Mass that sanctified millions of people, that brought them to heaven, is nowadays a crime for a priest.
And you will be suspended. And you will be secularized.
We know that we cannot take away your priesthood, but we are doing everything in our power to show that you are not a priest, you will be told.
And thank God, they don't want to be that kind of priest. They want to become Catholic priests. The same that Paul will become in a few minutes. Ordered for the same purpose, under the same circuмstances.
"No authority, not even the highest in the hierarchy, can force us to abandon or diminish our Catholic faith so clearly expressed and professed by the Magisterium of the Church for nineteen centuries. "
No authority, says Monsignor Lefebvre, no authority, not even the highest, can force us to renounce our Catholic faith.
No authority, not even the highest, can take away the Mass from us.
How much you know it, yourselves, Irish people, and by generosity I mean that you speak to those who come from Northern Ireland, our British friends.
You know that no one can take away the Mass from you.
For centuries, the enemy tried to do it.
Today, the enemy is dressed in white, red, purple, nevertheless he tries to do exactly the same thing.
And the Irish people should react in the same way as they did in the past. You want the Mass, you want to take it away from us, we will have it, in the fields, in the woods, in the living rooms, fifty degrees with heating, or in the gyms, or in the garages, or anywhere.
But we will not give our Mass in exchange for any concession you wanted to give us.
In the past, it was the King or Queen, no matter, offering donations in exchange for the Mass. Today, it is the pope, the cardinals, the bishops who offer us gifts to you in exchange for the Mass. Today, as yesterday, your answer is that the Mass is the greatest gift I can hope for.
Nothing more, nothing else is more precious.
And God rewards us all today by giving us a priest so that he can celebrate the Mass for all of us.
It is impossible, says Monsignor Lefebvre, to profoundly modify the lex orandi, the way of praying, without changing the lex credendi, the way of believing.
"The Novus Ordo Missae corresponds to a new catechism, a new priesthood, new seminaries, a Pentecostal charismatic church, all things opposed to orthodoxy and the perennial teaching of the Church, a new Mass, a new priesthood, a new religion. "
A new religion.
"It is therefore impossible for any conscientious and faithful Catholic to embrace this reform or submit to it in any way. "
It is impossible for any conscientious and faithful Catholic, keep these words in mind, impossible for any conscientious and faithful Catholic to submit.
"The only attitude of fidelity to the Church and Catholic doctrine for our salvation is a categorical refusal to accept this reform. "If you, if we all want to remain Catholic, the answer to all these novelties is no.
No. No. We are perfectly capable of living our lives in this world with the faith that was the faith of our fathers, their fathers, their fathers, until our Lord Jesus Christ who revealed it to the world.
No. Categorical refusal to accept this reform.
And so Monsignor Lefebvre says, that is why, without any spirit of rebellion, bitterness or resentment, we continue our work of training priests with a timeless magisterium as a guide.
And so we try to do the same, as small as we are, teaching our priests this doctrine contained in the books of the past, this unchangeable and unchanged doctrine that is that of the Catholic Church.
This doctrine you want to hear yourself. And so we teach them to give the sacraments, the way you want to receive them, without thinking, what did he say, as we all fear with the Novus Ordo.
Did he say it correctly? Did he do it correctly? Did he use the right oils? Did he forget something? Because we never know.
I can find out, I can know if a Novus Ordo priest is able or not to give the sacraments. I know what is necessary, what is not. But you?
Are you aware of what the lyrics should be? Or what the actions should be? You don't have to be. Because you simply put yourself in the hands of the priest. Something we can no longer do today.
And that's why you want your priests to do it right. You want to make the Mass, that they say the Mass correctly, with the right movements, with the right genuflections, with the right signs of the cross.
Sometimes we forget things. I admit that I may have forgotten something recently. But I won't say sorry to the people there. But I was tired. But you want your priests to know.
Because you want to put yourself in their hands in peace. I know that Paul, Father Schmidt is coming. I know he will give me the sacraments that lead me to heaven. That's what you want. And that's what we do. We continue to train this man in this way so that in peace you can say, I'm sure he's coming.
I count, I am sure that I will receive God's grace. My father is dying. My mother is dying. I call the father, or the father here, or the fathers around. I know they will do the right job.
That's what you need. That's what you need. That's what God wants for you. Be sure that when the time comes, you can count on your priests.
You can count on their guidance, on their example. We are convinced that we cannot render a greater service to the Holy Catholic Church, the sovereign pontiff and posterity.
It is by doing this that we serve the Church. It's not easy. It's not easy to deal with crazy people like you. Some more, some less. It's not easy to deal with crazy people like us. Especially more. But this is the service we owe to the Church.
This is why we attach ourselves to everything that has been believed and practiced in faith, morals, the liturgy, the teaching of catechism, the formation of priests and the institution of the Church, by the Church of all times.
To all these things, as described in these books that were born before the modernist influence of the council, we will do this until the moment when the true light of tradition will dispel the darkness that obscures the sky of eternal Rome.
And if only I could, I would add these words in the Pontifical, begging God, saying, God, give us this grace to be strong until the end.
Until Tradition returned to Rome. Not in the sense that we are going back as we did not long ago when we visited Rome on a pilgrimage.
But we want the Church authorities to embrace Tradition again. And you would say, how is it possible that they lost it? I don't know. It's a mystery. It may be beyond our understanding, but it's a fact. And it's up to us to simply continue what has been done before.
And so I finish, thank God, and you are happy, surely, because the meal is waiting there, as I can already see.
But I end with the same words of Monsignor Lefebvre, which I make mine. And if I had that power, I would make them yours.
By doing this with the grace of God and the help of the Blessed Virgin Mary and that of Saint Joseph and Saint Pius X, we are assured to remain faithful to the Roman Catholic Church and to all the successors of Peter.
In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. So be it.

    Thanks for posting Armand.
Does anyone have any information on these Italian priests?
Or a little more information on the new ordinand and where he will begin his apostolate?
    Perhaps some photos??
