    FR. EPINEY TAKES A PUBLIC STANCE AGAINST THE LIBERAL DRIFT OF THE FSSPX

    Parish of Riddes, Switzerland

    Fr. Epiney is a Swiss diocesan priest who, as parish priest of Riddes (a town less than 2 km from the seminary of Ecône) resisted, together with Archbishop Lefebvre, the onslaught of the Council. A great friend and confidant of the Archbishop, he was one of those who worked to obtain the seminary building of Ecône.

    The "priest of Riddes" was well known and appreciated by generations of seminarians because of the proximity of his parish. Even Bishop Fellay, in his childhood, was his altar boy.

    Always a friend of the Fraternity, he avoided, until his sermon on May 26, speaking of the liberal drift of the FSSPX; that is why this public taking of position is a very important milestone in the history of the collapse of the Fraternity.

    • This lowly Franciscan has had the privilege to listen to this magnificent sermon in the original, en français.  It is indeed, as is said, "an excellent sermon!"

    We of the Resistance should not deceive ourselves.  This is not a spiritual warfare of "numbers", but of the quality of those who enter into this all-important fray.  This is the Holy War of our time, and Fr. Epiney is worth, in humble truth, no less than many hundreds of more ordinary souls from among the (Neo-) S.S.P.X. clergy.  This marks no small spiritual victory for the true Roman Catholic Tradition.  It is a sure sign that on the spiritual plane, where this Great Battle is actually being fought, the tide has finally and truly turned.

    At least in spirit, the terrible Apocalypse has crested and better days now dawn, bringing with them priceless liberty for the noble Sons and Daughters of God.

    However few we may be.

    • Amazingly, I had never heard of Fr. Epiney.  If he is coming over to the Resistance, that would be huge, given how well he is regarded in the French-speaking world.

    • What took him so long ?  It's been almost 7 years since Bishop Williamson was expelled for opposing an agreement with
    heretical Rome.  For which Fellay lied, saying he was expelled for disobedience (continuing to publish his Eleison Comments).
    Better late than never, I guess.

    • His phraseology sounds like Fr Hesse!

    Has he really joined the Resistance? He is promoting Bishop Faure and Bishop Williamson, but has he joined the SAJM?
    The available information says that he is a diocesan priest (50 years as a priest) who lives close to the seminary in Econe but chose not to speak about the SSPX internal problems until now.

    Most interesting sermon.

    • Do Fr. Epiney and Fr. Rousseau know that N.O. Bp. Olmsted was recently invited to the SSPX Priest's Retreat at OLOS in Phoenix in April and that he showed up to a warm welcome??
