    Could the FSSPX please explain why they are using images from Medjugorje to promote a Marian Retreat when they believe the apparitions of Medjugorje to be false?

    On March 19th & 24th of 2017, the official English language website of the FSSPX published two articles, Not Real Apparitions in Medjugorje & Medjugorje: the Case, that stated that the apparitions of Medjugorje were false.  Fast-forward to May 13th of 2019, the SSPX of the United Kingdom promotes their Marian Retreat with three superimposed images, all from the false apparitions of Medjugorje. (see above)  When FSSPX News and its associated sites were launched the Society gave the reasoning behind it, “In an effort to increase the quality, consistency, and frequency of Catholic communication, the SSPX is launching a new website.”  Does the right hand know what the left hand is doing in the Society?  Is the SSPX making modernist Rome traditional Catholic or is modernist Rome’s modernism rubbing off on the FSSPX?  Are their members really that ignorant of the photo they grabbed off the internet to promote their Marian Retreat? What’s going on? 


    The Marian images from the false apparitions go by many names: Our Lady of Tihaljina, Our Lady of Medjugorje, Our Lady of Grace, Queen of Peace, Mother of the Redeemer, etc...

    Do a search for those names and these images turn up.

    • Yes, this is the Med-Jєω-gore icon statue.

    And it cannot be a coincidence the exSSPX used the image, since their "Destroyer Clown" just endorsed Med-Jєω-gore.

    • I'd like to apply Occam's razor.  I'm guessing that someone just found an image of Our Lady online and grabbed it ... without really investigating its origins.  There isn't always a deep conspiracy behind every neo-SSPX bush.

    This is the exact picture in the children's prayer book "My Little Heart Prays" 1953.
    If you google this book and look at the pictures it's there.
    Always loved this picture of Our Lady of Grace.

    • Many old pictures, symbols and devotions are being hijacked by unimaginative people, but that doesn't mean when real Catholics use them that we are supporting the "New Age" whatever.
    Example:  The picture posted in the OP hijacked by Medjugorje
                    The rainbow hijacked by the queers
                    Holy Week prayers hijacked by Faustina
    Seems like as soon as some new age organization jijacks something we stop using it. :facepalm:

    Medjugorge has been in business 30+ years.  

    This version of the Blessed Mother taken-off their website is unique to them.

    The SSPX has been in the "trad-business" nearly 50 years and they definitely should know what this image represents.
    Do you want to blame it on the ignorance of their Dutch branding company?

    We have constant reports of the exSSPX priors falling all over themselves to get Priory/School visits from Concilliar bishops.

    If the Destroyer Pope just endorsed Medjugorge, don't think Fr. Wegner the PR guru to wouldn't throw-in some Medjugorge spice to make him happy :jester:
