Read the end of Louie's latest blog entry. It will be interesting to see what the SSPX District House will respond or if they will respond:

In keeping with my last post, Naming names, readers may be interested in knowing that the Remnant ran an article in June 2016 raising a red flag with regard to Peter’s Pence.

So far so good, but the solution proposed by the writer therein is as follows:
Instead [of donating to Peter’s Pence], send a generous check to the nuns, they will use it wisely and charitably: Sisters of Life, Missionaries of Charity, Franciscan Sisters [all three hyperlinked to make donating easier]

In response, I can do no better than to echo the sentiments of a commenter on the Remnant site, Michael, who wrote in reaction to this suggestion:
Why give a donation of which 95% will NOT go to the propagation of Tradition or the true Mass, when you could give one to Traditional priests like the SSPX, of which 100% would go to the propagation of Tradition and the true Mass?

Speaking of the SSPX, I am wondering whether or not the Society itself makes a contribution to Peter’s Pence or otherwise sends funds directly to the Holy See. To find out, I just sent an inquiry to the U.S. District House.

In the meantime, I discovered that the SSPX published a positive article on Peter’s Pence back in March.
What this indicates, I do not know, but I hope to discover that the Society does not forward even a nickel collected from its faithful directly to the Holy See. I will keep you posted as to their reply.

I am also unaware to what extent dioceses are required to send money to the Holy See.

I reviewed the latest available financial statement from the Archdiocese of Baltimore (my diocese) and no such entry was obvious.
In any case, one must likewise beware when solicited by any Catholic group that routinely sends money to the Holy See; e.g., the Knights of Columbus, who presented Francis with a check for $1.6 million in February 2017.

The Evil One is a master of deception indeed. If you can help it, don’t let him deceive you or your loved ones into funding the nefarious agenda outlined in this post.

  • Not just the Peter's Pence, but each church must give a percentage of everything they receive (collections, wills, lump sum donations) to the local Bishop.
    Does the SSPX?

And just a thought while we're on the subject of SSPX and money.
I've never seen a poor box in an SSPX chapel or a St. Vincent De Paul society
or a Right to Life.  Do they ever help anyone other than themselves?

Not just the dioceses but also the Indult Communities. The Mater Dei Communities under the Fraternity of St. Peter, collect every year for Peter's Pence AND for the Bishop's Lenten Appeal. The SSPX will be expected to do the same.

Annual Lenten Appeal – The Bishop’s Annual Lenten Appeal is underway. The pledge cards are in the back of the Church on the piano. There are blank cards available for those who do not have a printed card. Please fill out the pledge card and place it in the Collection basket or mail it to the Office. Our Diocesan Assessment this year is $11,000.  The community must cover this amount.  Anything in excess remains with Mater Dei, so please be generous!  Last year we ended a few hundred dollars short.

FYI: At Assumption Chapel in St. Mary's, KS, there is a poor box.

  • Do you know where the money from the Poor Box goes?

Does it go to the local soup kitchen or is it kept within the SSPX domain?

No, I do not know where it goes. I can only guess that it goes to parishioners in needed, such as helping pay funeral cost for those who are too poor to afford it, or help with rent, etc. But that is only a guess.

  • Where the SSPX funds go... has always been a mystery?

You think you're donating to your local chapel and come to find out Bp. Fellay is setting-up secret European corporations.

Fr. Le Roux told us they needed $60 million in donations for the new Virginia seminary, but their German attorney admitted in Remnant, that a $100 million donation by the European Jaidhoff family was earmarked to pay for it ?

What's the truth?   What is international racketeering ?

Since Fr. Asher is listed as the corporate treasurer of the new seminary, he would surely know.

"Some preachers will keep silence about the truth, and others will trample it underfoot and deny it. Sanctity of life will be held in derision even by those who outwardly profess it, for in those days Our Lord Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor but a destroyer."  St. Francis of Assisi
