    “RESISTANCE RISING"

    Reflections on Hugh Akins’ ѕуηαgσgυє Rising, and on the eleventh-hour revival of Counterrevolutionary Resistance the book’s been inspiring…
    "That the City of God Shall Not Perish!”    by   ALEX  D. ADESSA     AlexDAdessa@comcast.net

    GREETINGS FROM THE TRENCHES

    Co-defenders of the Faith, hello.  I don’t often have the time to share with my friends something that’s on my mind; least of all a serious reflection or two on matters of prime importance.  Today happens to be one of those rare occasions, as I find myself at a short interlude between assignments.  Please God I will make the best use of such an opportunity.   Do pardon me if what I write is a little clumsy.  I probably won’t get the chance to do much editing.
    So what shall we discuss today?  I could comment about some articles in the news, some troubling developments, certain distortions reported by the Establishment Press – you know: examples of disinformation and outright lies regularly fed the unsuspecting public.  Speaking of disinformation, I am reminded of what my ex-boss, former CIA Director William Casey once disclosed, but probably wished he hadn’t: “We’ll know our disinformation is complete when everything the American public believes is false.” Have we arrived at that stage?  You bet we have.   Is everything America believes false?  You bet it is.
    I could offer a few insights in connection with Pope Francis or President Obama – how both usurpers are ushering in an ever worsening storm of spiritual and/or world disasters.  Or I could depress you further with my professional take on just how rapidly our leaders are taking us down the path of nuclear war and how far and fast these Soviet States of Amerika have been sliding into a fatalistic neo-paganism that is leading us straight into a massive bloodbath on our own soil followed by Authoritarian Rule of the most repressive kind.  Dark days are coming.  We all need to know that and begin preparing for the worst, even as good Christians we never let go of real hope and complete trust in God’s loving paternity.
    Moreover, there’s a lot I could offer, writing from the trenches, on the impending outbreak of war with Syria, Iran and even Russia; how our criminal government is set on its policy of instigating more death and destruction by arming the terrorist Syrian rebels (who specialize in beheading Catholic priests and Christians in general) and threatening to topple the peace-seeking al-Assad regime in Damascus.  Should this surprise us?  I find it astonishing that so many Christian people are so politically and theologically ignorant.  Obama, Dictator in Chief and leading International War Criminal, no less guilty of crimes against humanity than his predecessor, President Bush, Butcher of Iran, is doing everything he can to appease the monsters of Tel Aviv by triggering another bloody rampage in the area.  Perpetual war has long been their plan.  Whose plan, exactly?  Obama, Bush, Clinton?  No.  They are the mere amoral stooges and front men of a much higher power, the hidden hand and invisible government that secretly rules America – Judaic Overlords perhaps best known as the Elders of Zion, chief architects of the dawning antichristian nєω ωσrℓ∂ σr∂єr.  What some have dubbed the Jєω World Order.

    WHY JUDAISM AND THE JєωS?

    I find myself more and more compelled to speak about Judaism and the Jєωs.  Why’s that?  It should be obvious.  For one reason, Zionism poses the deadliest threat to the world today.  For another reason, I am a Christian, a Catholic, and it is my duty to defend the Faith and Christian Civilization against its most lethal enemy.  Zionism’s greatest threat is not as a venomous snake dangling from the tree in plain sight, but the venomous snake in the grass that you cannot see.  In this tenor, Dr. Robert Sungenis, in a well presented review of Dr. E. Michael Jones’ powerhouse book on The Jєωιѕн Revolutionary Spirit, raised an interesting point.  “In a way,” says Sungenis, “Jones’ book is like a sequel to the Bible.  About 85% of the Bible deals with the conflict between: (a) Jєωs and God, and (b) Jєωs and the rest of the world.  Jones merely extends the description of the conflict beyond the words of Jesus and the pen of St. Paul, through the Middle Ages and landing right smack into the heart of the twentieth century.”
    Though Dr. Jones’ book is quite good, it is Dr. Sungenis’ reference to the Bible and the Jєωs that I would call your attention to.  If Sacred Scripture concerns itself with Jєωs in much of its holy text, why then is the Jєωιѕн Question, and more importantly the Jєωιѕн Peril, predominantly off limits to Christians today?  The point I think is preindicative.  And indeed it makes the thinking man wonder why everything under the sky is tolerated in open forum except Judaism and the Jєωs.  I know, I know, it’s because the Jєωs have all the power today, and they are notorious at shutting down all criticism of themselves and all opposition to their dark schemes.  This is true, but it doesn’t even begin to explain the reprehensible collective silence of our spiritual leaders, or our Christian colleagues and fellow defenders of the Faith, who should have no fear of secular powers as such.  How has it come about that so many good people lack the grace to muster the courage of their convictions in standing up to the Goliath of тαℓмυdic Antichristianism?  I’ll come back to this question in short order.

    ABOUT ME: BACKGROUND AND CONVERSION

    As many of you already know, but for the benefit of the sizable number of new additions to my mailing list, I have a background in U.S. and world Intelligence, with considerable knowledge of and experience in Mideastern affairs.  One of several reasons I cannot use my real name is a deep though largely unofficial involvement in the Underground Church in the Holy Land.  Yes, such an entity exists, God bless their persecuted souls. I have literally thousands of contacts there.  Some friends and I dare not estimate how many enemies.  When it comes to Palestine, to Gaza, to the Persecuted Church, to the Israeli Defense Forces and US-Israeli sponsored orgy of bloodletting, to the vanishing Christian population and the Zionist determination to drive every last believer from the Jesus’ own native country, to precipitating WWIII in the region, and not to overlook the most encouraging upswing of resistance to the International Zionist Menace by many Jєωιѕн persons in and around Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Brooklyn, New York…when it comes to such things I know what too few others know.  Don’t get me wrong; I‘m no smarter than anybody else.  It’s just a matter of having inside information, including classified, that is not readily accessible to the average citizen, not even the better informed ones.  Or, more to the point, information deliberately withheld from virtually everyone – no less by the most respected and trusted names in religion and news on the right, than the more obvious moral and intellectual prostitutes on the left.
    My years in the Central Intelligence Agency, a Trojan Horse of Antichrist Possessed if ever there was one, and not just at the higher tiers of power, has afforded me an extra-ordinary discernment of things political and theological.  I converted to the Catholic Religion from Protestantism having come face-to-face with evil on a scale that most men could not begin to imagine.  Yes, I had a front-row seat (and in younger years a behind enemy lines field of view) of the dark doings of the Judaic-Soviet Monster, but this was not the evil that enabled me to see the struggle in a spiritual light and therefore, ultimately, which compelled me to convert to the Mystical Body of Christ.  It was, I submit, a greater evil; an evil I witnessed closer to home and of greater magnitude and wickedness beyond comprehension…in the CIA, the NSA, the State Department, the Pentagon; in our embassies and among diplomatic and military attachés; in the editorial offices of the New York Times and their counterparts in the electronic media; and in the Senate and House of Representatives and the Oval Office.  And of course in recent years, in the Department of Homeland Security – the number one threat to our domestic liberties, and which is no less Israeli controlled than is the Mossad, of which I know more chilling secrets than would I care to admit and you would care to learn.
    How serious is all this?  How ugly does it get?  How grave and immediate a threat are we speaking of?  More than you can imagine, I’m afraid.
    Since converting and a year afterwards teaming up with a small and highly select group of staunch “under the radar” Christians at the Agency (small in number but Christlike in spirit), we’ve been assembling a body of data linking U.S. intelligence with programs featuring such things as Satanism and psychotronic mind manipulation that make the MK-ULTRA and DARPA Transcranial magnetic stimulation projects seem mild by comparison, and the Manchurian Candidate appear scientific fact rather than science fiction.  Not death drones alone but death robots are soon coming to a neighborhood near you.  As part of a myriad of diabolic programs, the Golden Gate and Seattle areas have become unwitting test sites for aggressive pineal glandular micro-chip implanting.  Related to these horrific programs is the 20 million tons of aluminum chemtrails dumped on us since the 1990s (and we wonder why there has been a mind-boggling proliferation of terminal diseases and psychotic disorders during the same period!).  And if you thought Fukushima was a disaster, think again: the reservoirs of spent fuel at America’s nuclear facilities has in effect weaponized our entire otherwise benign nuclear industry which now makes this country extremely vulnerable to any number of brand new doomsday scenarios.  In addition, the public has only recently been made aware of what we have known for a long time: the truth to what NSA whistleblower Jim Stone disclosed that the new fence along the US-Mexican border was built, not to keep illegal immigrants out, but to keep the American people in – to keep us all from escaping the Zionist reign of terror about to be unleashed against us.  The latest Israeli propaganda film, World War Z, with Zionist poster boy Brad Pitt as leading man, spills the beans on what they, the Zionist Elders, have in store for all us Christian “zombies.”  Clue: the slaughter of innocents.  Can’t be true, you say?  Have you not heard of the Noahide Laws?  The Patriot Act?  The State Department Office of Global Anti-Semitism?  The National Defense Authorization Act?
    Scary stuff, I’m sure you will agree.  It gets scarier, but I have to be careful to avoid certain “catch words” that might trigger an internal CIA witch hunt against me.  You think I’m joking?  Read the тαℓмυd.  Read the Protocols of Zion.  Read ѕуηαgσgυє Rising.
    Not long after joining the Catholic Church I took the next logical step of converting to Traditional Catholicism, compelled in that wise decision by the corresponding evil I witnessed in the Newchurch of Vatican II, and its complete reversal of beliefs and utter sell-out of Christ’s true Church to the Infernal Enemy by many a bishop and cardinal of the new orientation.  Along with foreign diplomats and representatives of state to whom I delivered more than a few private intelligence briefings, I had semi-private meetings with important cardinals that were much less princes of God’s Church than pawns of the Devil.  These are the churchmen that make a blasphemous mockery of the divine exhortation, “woe unto them that call good evil and evil good.”  At least one colleague of the same thinking as me insists that some of these treasonous prelates are nothing less than devils in human form.  Literally.
    Another scary thought.
    That’s only part of my story, but my story is not what I would write about this day.   My “Memoirs” will have to wait until I retire – if I live that long (I’m already “ancient.”  And youngsters like Bishop Williamson think they are dinosaurs – HAH!).  From the title given the present writing, you can see that I want to speak a little about the book, ѕуηαgσgυє Rising, and its author, Hugh Akins, whom another fellow defender of the Faith, Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey, has correctly observed to be one of the greatest living champions of the Kingship of Christ.   I do not think he’s overstating the point at all.

    HUGH AKINS AND HIS WORK

    We are, after all, speaking of the man, once a young combat veteran fresh out of the bamboo-studded deathlands of South Vietnam, some battle wounds still on the mend, who had the moral perception to make contact with Archbishop Lefebvre before his providential founding of the Society of St. Pius X and its influx into America; the same young man who shortly after that rose to the occasion to become Catholic Tradition’s first and at that time only major distributor of the writings of the great Father Denis Fahey; Hugh Akins was also the co-author of a book, still in print nearly 40 years later, exposing the New Mass as a terrible sacrilege [1]; in addition he was the founder as well as leading light and chief driving force behind the League of Christ the King, whose reach spread across the globe in only a few years’ time; the author of such other fine works as In defense of the Faith, Christian Order and the Modern World, With Jesus on Retreat, Fatima and the Fate of Mankind, The Reign of Christ and the Revolt of Nations, Christ of All Nations, Modern Wars In The Light of Catholic Teaching, as too the very popular work of Catholic fiction titled Yuma, and his own longtime best-seller on the making and undoing of Catholic America and the heresy of Americanism, No King But Caesar, presently almost sold out of its 7th printing.
    But Hugh Akins’ credentials and accomplishments don’t end there.  He was the inspiration behind thousands of Catholic men and hundreds of Catholic Action groups around the world.  And not one to rest on his laurels, this same undaunted activist, prolific writer and indefatigable soldier of Christ surpassed all other prior accomplish-ments by publishing, in 2012, the book already mentioned, ѕуηαgσgυє Rising – A Catholic Worldview of Antichristian Judaism and Counterrevolutionary Resistance.  This project finally saw the light of day, but not before battling a relentless demonic campaign to keep it from materializing.  Read it to see why Satan would go all-out to try and stop this book from being published; to see why he, creation’s single most powerful fallen angel, would fear this book opening too many Christian eyes and rousing too many Christian men to enlist in the Christian Warfare.
    Forty-four years defending the Faith, inspiring Catholic men to Catholic Action, and leading the charge for a Catholic America – and with no signs of slowing down! … If Hugh Akins is not the greatest living champion of Christ the King, then who?
    But more important than the man, is his mission.  The true greatness of this unswerving lay apostle with the fortitude to put a lot of us to shame, is in the fruits of his long labor in the vineyard of the Lord.  A great work reveals the great soul that produced it.  I am not saying Hugh Akins is a saint (he’d “have my head on a platter”), only that he has some of the qualities of one.  No man of ordinary virtue or mediocre dedication and drive could have done what this one man has done, his latest book providing the best testimony to a life of heroic spiritual resoluteness and Christian zeal.  What specifically moved me to write this article?  I‘d been reading ѕуηαgσgυє Rising a third time.  I usually read a good book two or three times on average; great books even more than that.  I expect to read ѕуηαgσgυє Rising a dozen times or more.  The book is beyond great.  It’s phenomenal, truly a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.
    The third reading really got me thinking.  Even though the first reading resulted in my being so impressed, so invigorated, that I unhesitatingly sacrificed three-quarters of a night’s sleep (no easy task for a man my age) in order to draft the outline of a book review.  But even after the review was accepted and began drawing some attention to the book, it wasn’t enough.  I needed to do more to tell others about it, to influence others to read it, really read it, delve into it, digest it, devour it.  And then to disseminate it, to get it in the hands of still more good people, to open their eyes, to wrench them from their ignorance and lethargy and idleness.  This book has what it takes to get the job done; to enlighten those who’ve had their heads buried in the sand for so long; to help forge the Christian man as the Christian Church would have us all become – men such as the amazing Templars waging a fierce and fearless war in the service of the Lord God.  Our sword, today, is that of Truth.  ѕуηαgσgυє Rising is one of the 21st century Crusader’s most powerful swords – the sword of Catholic Truth, Catholic Combat, Catholic Action.
    I felt deeply motivated to help it along as much as I could.  To say ѕуηαgσgυє Rising contains a wealth of information is to give it much less credit than it deserves.  This treatise offers so much more as both a philosophy of history and an exposition of theological militancy; it’s at once a synthesis of religious, political and historical knowledge and an up-to-date study of how the modern world is impacted by the cosmic war between the Mystical Body of Christ and the ѕуηαgσgυє of Satan.  It delivers a message that penetrates to the core of Christian manhood.  It drives from the mind liberalism’s destructive hold on it by challenging every one of its deceits – or at least the ones doing the most harm.  It jolts the soul from its natural proclivity towards indolence.  It rouses the reader from a crippling slumber.  And then it inspires him to action.  Real action.  Manly action.  Again – nothing less than Catholic Action.
    No one has done more to galvanize Catholic Action in the post-Conciliar Church than Hugh Akins.  And although it may be a little too early to tell, I do think no other book will prompt men to true Catholic Action on the scale of ѕуηαgσgυє Rising.
    ѕуηαgσgυє Rising.  The title alone says it all.  It speaks of the Jєωιѕн Peril warning that it is fast rising:  Judaism Rising.  Zionism Rising.  Antichrist Rising.  The book itself, the text, the principal thrust, has an impressive power to energize the sluggish, awaken a sleeping giant, forge a united front, induce a counter-attack, mount a mighty campaign and revive the Catholic Counterrevolution, dormant too long.  A sequel to ѕуηαgσgυє Rising might be given the title Resistance Rising.  This is perhaps the most important fruit of this one amazing, monumental book – that it animates the Resistance like no other in print today.  The counter-Conciliar/counter-Zionist Resistance which, up to now, has hardly given the enemy cause for alarm, with rare exceptions.  Now we have this new and mighty weapon in our arsenal and at our finger tips – thanks to Hugh Akins and the Catholic Action Resource Center.  But even the mightiest sword is useless if it is kept in the scabbard, where it will quickly rust and lose its cutting edge.  It must be kept battle ready and put to use to do any good.  A book this important, this powerful, this urgent, should not just be read, and not even just re-read, but studied and digested, sermons and conferences given based on its contents; in a word, consumed, promoted, disseminated, assisted in its destiny to impact the greatest possible number of souls in such dire need of the whole truth.

    THE COLLECTIVE FAILURE OF LEADING TRADITIONALISTS

    Resistance Rising.  This is one of the principal ways Akins’ book is positively impacting all who read it – re-inspiring the counter-offensive which, like a soldier weary of battle and with no other objective than to avoid becoming another casualty, has lost much of its fighting spirit as the Traditional Movement sank into a sort of collective complacency.  ѕуηαgσgυє Rising fires up the fighting spirit like few other books ever published.  From its opening pages, it defines the Combat and the Resistance and their exalted mission as the Church has defined them.  Akins sees more clearly than most traditional Catholics who can’t see beyond some of the lesser heresies produced by the Revolution; who fail to recognize or refuse to see the Revolution itself, for what it is.  This is one reason why so many traditional Catholics have no interest in buying and reading books like ѕуηαgσgυє Rising, and why they are numb when it comes to the importance of introducing many other souls to such a book.
    Upon inquiring, the publisher informed me, based on the volume of correspondence and inquiries he received, that the majority of people who’ve ordered the book were non-traditionalists.  In one sense that’s a good thing.  It means that the message of Catholic Tradition in the splendor of its integrity and featuring its militant, Magisterial and counterrevolutionary aspect, is reaching a good number of truth-seeking souls outside the Traditional Movement.  Seek, the good God tells us, and ye shall find.  Much grace is being channeled from this book to those outside the fold of Catholic orthodoxy who earnestly and humbly desire truth.  The fact that they purchased the book is a wonderful sign of good things happening and better things yet to come.
    But the fact of so few traditionalists ordering copies of this book is also indicative of a deep-lying inadequacy in the collective mind of traditional Catholics, or tradcats as some like to call them.  This fact betrays a really serious underlying problem with Catholic traditionalists.  And leading traditionalists above all, those who presume to speak for the rest of us from whatever podium they’ve set up.  Ill-formed are those tradcats that are so disinclined to accept the whole truth about the eternal war between the Blessed Virgin and the accursed Serpent, which, as Hugh Akins has stressed again and again, must necessarily include the war between the Christ and His executioners – тαℓмυdic-poisoned and hate-driven Jєωs.  Akins’ book captures the apogee of eternal that war in all its cosmic consequences.
    The remarkable Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre along with some five past SSPX superiors supported Mr. Akins in his apostolate, something today’s SSPX is no longer willing to do.   And is it not a sad commentary of the present state of the Catholic Resistance that even the Fatima Center now shuns Hugh Akins in favor of the oft-compromising Bishop Bernard Fellay, Christopher Ferrara and Michael Matt – something I will never understand.  If such a holy priest as Father Gruner is willing to promote books authored by Father Paul Kramer, which I commend him for doing, why not the even more powerful and timely and excellent “21st Century Manifesto of the Catholic Counterrevolution,” ѕуηαgσgυє Rising by Hugh Akins?  For that matter, why would Catholic Family News editor John Vennari publish a book review of Blood on the Altar, Craig Heimbichner’s superb study on the OTO (Order of Oriental Templars), while refusing to accept even a paid advertisement for the vastly more important and urgently needed ѕуηαgσgυє Rising?  It makes no sense, except that too many Resistance leaders have lost much of their fortitude.   They seem more concerned with the possible loss of subscribers – and income – than with providing their readers with the full truth which alone will set them free.
    Can you think of a single valid reason why The Angelus magazine, The Fatima Crusader, The Remnant and Catholic Family News would not jump at the chance to deliver the strongest encouragement to their readers to purchase and study and help disseminate Hugh Akins’ ѕуηαgσgυє Rising?  Why would they not publish reviews promoting the book?  Why would they not eagerly seek the author’s permission to run regular installments – sample chapters taken from the book – in the pages of their respective publications, to help arm their subscribers with such vital information and thereby help fortify rather than weaken the Counterrevolution?  Culture Wars, The Bellarmine Report, The Barnes Review, watchingthewickedseed, christorchaos, freestatevoice.com.au, realJєωnews.com, romancatholicheroes, and American Free Press have all featured large ads and/or posted book reviews or links promoting ѕуηαgσgυє Rising, along with several other websites that did the same.  Why not the The Angelus, The Fatima Crusader, The Remnant and Catholic Family News?  Is this not a shameful example of negligence of duty on their part?  Of a weakening of Catholic militancy?  Of a cowardly and unChristian fear of the Jєωs?
    As I said, and as everyone that’s read it well knows, ѕуηαgσgυє Rising is no ordinary book.  It is the single most important book of these dangerous times.  I challenge anyone to dispute that assertion.  How can anyone who refuses to recognize and join the struggle against International Jєωry which is organized against all things Christian, even call themselves Catholic?
    Those of you reading these lines and wanting to do something really helpful to the cause of Christ the King, make use of the phone, of emails, letters, faxes, online forums, and other channels of communication to keep up the pressure on all the leaders of Catholic Tradition to put aside all self interest and fear of being branded anti-Semitic in order to begin promoting Akins’ masterpiece of Catholic Militancy.  They have no excuse – none whatever – for not doing so.
    The dumbest argument I ever heard was that the book’s cover was too provocative.  The book’s cover – really!  They can’t come up with a better excuse than that?  I know traditional priests that say the cover of ѕуηαgσgυє Rising is fantastic.  David Dees, the well-known anti-Zionist political artist, out-did himself with the design and lay-out.  It really says a lot of what needs saying.  Catholics who argue otherwise whine that it’s a matter of prudence.  They misuse that wonderful word perhaps more than any other.  Do they honestly think traditionalists are that stupid?   It’s less about prudence than self-serving expedience, timidity and cowardice.  Next these same traditional “leaders” will be saying we’d best eliminate the Gospel of St. John so as not to provoke antichristian Jєωιѕн fanatics!  Might as well do away with Sts. Peter and Paul.  And while they’re at it, why not purge the Sacred Text of the Words of Jesus Himself, Who has no equal in denouncing perfidious Jєωs.  Let Jesus be censored to avoid offending hateful Jєωs.  Have the two greatest commandments of God now been reduced to a single one: thou shall not provoke the Jєωs?  Has anti-Semitism, according to Jєωιѕн myth, now become the only sin?  The h0Ɩ0cαųst Myth the only dogma still held sacred?
    Give me a break!   If I sound angry it’s because I am angry.  Very angry, and rightly so.  What sort of Catholic would not get angry over such a naked injustice that has leading traditionalists blackballing Hugh Akins and ѕуηαgσgυє Rising?  Maybe some of these traditional Catholic editors/publishers should be allowed to go out of business.   If that’s the kind of spineless drivel we can expect from them, what good are they to the Catholic cause?  Think about it.  Think about how they are withholding from their readers one of the most powerful weapons in the fight for the Faith – Akins’ book.  And more: in shunning Akins, they shun as well many other champions of Catholic anti-Judaic militancy – Oreglia, Dillon, Jouin, Deuchamp, Meurin, Delassus, Fahey, Feeney... You have to really wonder about such men – no matter how much good they may otherwise be doing.
    It gives me no satisfaction to find fault with good guys like Fr. Gruner and John Vennari.  But their negligence is of such weight, and does so much harm to the very cause they devote themselves to serving, that silence is no longer an option.  As for Ferrara and Matt, they are good guys, too, I am sure of it, and yet their common shortcoming is not merely one of neglect: they actually espouse falsehood and consequently misrepresent – and therefore, to this extent, even undermine – the Faith.  For all the good these men do, they are leading countless souls astray – in effect disarming the only true opposition to the Reign of Satan – Militant and Counterrevolutionary Catholicism.  As Akins proved in his tremendous and meticulously docuмented book, the whole of Catholic Tradition vehemently asserts that if we are not on the side of those exposing and fighting the ѕуηαgσgυє of Satan, then we are to that degree enabling the Enemy and weakening the Catholic Forces.  My advice to Mr. Ferrara and Mr. Matt, as well as Fr. Gruner and Mr. Vennari – offered in the charity of Christ, though almost certainly to be rejected as such – is to suspend all publishing for the present time; enter into sabbatical for one or two years, or for as long as it takes, to study the Catholic Religion in whole, especially as it pertains to that which they either refuse to accept or presume to refute, namely, Antichrist’s war on Christ as it plays out through the Antichristian Conspiracy, with none other than тαℓмυdic Judaism and International Zionism stealthily leading the charge on a hundred deadly fronts.
    Not that Fr. Gruner, Vennari, Matt and Ferrara are alone in their neglect of duty.   What’s wrong with Michael Hoffman, Maurice Pinay, Dr. Alan White, John Salza and Atila Guimaraes that they wouldn’t seize the opportunity to enhance their own work by showing positive preferment to a book as superb as ѕуηαgσgυє Rising?
    Not a single favorable post between them?  Not one positive word?  Not so much as a public congratulations to the author for producing such a magnificent treatise?  Come on, now!  Something’s rotten in Denmark!
    And how about the Diamond Brothers?  And Traditio.com?  And Michael Caine?  And so many others who make themselves out to be prominent spokesmen for Catholic Tradition?  Their silence is deafening!
    Are they all perhaps too extreme to appreciate something as balanced as Akins’ book?  Too blind to see so glaring a reality before their eyes?  Too filled with intellectual pride to acknowledge such a monumental work of Catholic scholarship as this?  Or too afraid to take on the most forbidden of all issues?  Am I being judgmental?  I think not.  A priest that I consulted thinks not.  The Church has spoken, and these men and organizations thought to be uncompromisingly Catholic have refused to answer the call to take up their spiritual arms in holding the Catholic Fortress against the one enemy leading the assault.
    Not to let the Society of St. Pius X off the hook, once the undisputed leader of the Catholic Resistance but now in serious decline.  It too has succuмbed to an even greater failure.  Remember, to whom much is given much is expected.  Of course the SSPX continues to do much good, as do the others named.  It has nonetheless dropped the ball on the high mission Heaven itself assigned it under the able stewardship of a very saintly French archbishop.  In recent years the SSPX has been increasingly paying mere lip service to Abp. Lefebvre, using but misrepresenting and dishonoring his name at the same time.   Actually hiding behind his good name in order to deceive the elect.
    The cold realization made glaringly apparent by negligence of duty with such dire consequences is that things are not always what they appear to be.  There is no question but that stark ignorance and the blackest malice prevail in the corridors of Washington and Rome.  The more difficult truth to accept is that a situation of the blind leading the blind prevails no less among those holding the reins of power in such places as Menzigen, Switzerland, world headquarters of the once-irreproachable Society of Saint Pius X.   This has become increasingly obvious for a number of years.  Under its present leadership, much of the Society has lost the fighting spirit that its fearless founder had infused into it.
    That in mind, I suppose the present split in the SSPX was inevitable.  I can’t say that I saw it coming.  I didn’t.  But others certainly did early on, such as Hugh Akins, who has attributed the rapid misfortunate decline of the one-time thriving League of Christ the King to the shockingly doubtful loyalty of one or two SSPX clergy, as well as the lukewarmness and/or too liberal bent of several others.  He attempted to warn us about the grave weakness within, but most would not listen.  Complacency was already deeply rooted and is never easily eradicated.
    At first I was one of the people that got peeved at Hugh for uttering such an unwelcome, inconvenient truth.  How dare he?  I had just converted to Tradition at the time, saw the SSPX as the only lifeboat in the stormy sea of apostasy, and didn’t want to hear anything negative about it.   Hugh was never overly critical of the Society, but continued giving its priests his utmost support and most valiant loyalty, even while no few of them rewarded his loyalty with complete betrayal, devastating he and his family emotionally and financially.  Eventually, however, the weakness spread from within and the Society’s fall from grace became too obvious to deny any longer.  Bishop Williamson long ago did the same, cautioning the faithful not to place more confidence in the SSPX than a mere human institution warranted.  That was long before Bishop Fellay threw Bishop Williamson under the bus merely for speaking Truth before the Modern Idol of h0Ɩ0cαųstianity, as was his duty as a Prince of the Church, prompted by the First Commandment that required the public condemnation of idol worship.  But did we heed this sound advice?  Of course not.  Today it’s evident that the SSPX itself  has become a virtual idolatry to many naïve and easily beguiled faithful who look upon its Superior General as infallible, even when his overt shift in direction clearly puts him at odds not only with the vision and mission of Archbishop Lefebvre, but with the traditional rules of conduct in dealing with an enemy as ensnaring and nefarious as apostate Rome.
    My friends, the SSPX is not above the Church and Bishop Fellay is not a reincarnated Saint Pius X.  Archbishop Lefebvre would be most disturbed to learn that things have deteriorated to such an extent inside the priestly order he founded for the purpose of holding fast to and rebuilding, and not diluting and diminishing, the True Faith.

    WEAKNESSES OF THE TRADITIONAL MOVEMENT

    For all its good intentions, holy works and countless sacrifices, Catholic Tradition as it emerged from the shipwreck of the Second Vatican Council seemed to be infected with something of a virus that would in time contaminate no small part of the entire movement.  No one seems to talk about it, but almost from the start and exponentially over time, the fragmented and later semi-organized opposition of tradition-minded Catholics to heresy, sacrilege, schism and apostasy was a house divided among itself, even if less conspicuous back then than it had become later on.  The virus of American indifferentism and its sister-spirit of an exaggerated prudence or self-serving expedience had infected the Traditional Church to the degree that the elect was split between what amounted to half Catholics on the one side and integralists on the other; the unmilitant versus the militant, or as Hugh Akins aptly put it, the un-Magisterial versus the Magisterial-minded.  There were those that took the path of least resistance and those that followed the battle plan of the Church Militant.  Anyone asserting, for example, that the Total War that тαℓмυdic Judaism had been waging for centuries against the Catholic Church through its Protestant, Socialist, Liberal, Freemasonic, Communist and Capitalist fronts is of no concern to us, as the majority of leaders of the Traditional Movement are indeed in essence saying, contrary to mountains of evidence, is most certainly not in concert with the Church’s Authentic Teaching Office.
    Un-Magisterial indeed.  Akins was right.
    Though most failed to see the distinctions that long ago, there were, nonetheless, a few that did, and clearly not only Hugh Akins and Bishop Williamson.  On the one hand there were Catholics that maintained that remaining in a state of grace, saving the Tridentine Latin Mass, promoting the full Fatima message and ending the abortion h0Ɩ0cαųst were all that traditionalists needed to concentrate on, not much else (I might add, restoring prayer to the godless public schools but without any thought to abolishing those dens of Diabolic propaganda and child abuse in the classroom).  On the other hand there were the much smaller number and much saner element who understood the bigger struggle encompassing the Reign of Christ the King which could not be cut off from the duty to militate against the Antichristian Conspiracy of Jєωιѕн, Masonic and Marxist origin, which Conspiracy sought, above all else, the universal dethronement of Christ the King.  In truth, Liberalism, Modernism and Mohammedanism did not stand on their own, but were little more than mighty offensives launched against Christian Revelation and the Christian Order by the Jєωιѕн Temple, the Jєωιѕн Illuminati and the Jєωιѕн Bolsheviks.
    The Jєωιѕн Plutocracy now secretly ruling the world and driving it to its final cataclysm is the diabolic embodiment of these three powers – ѕуηαgσgυє, Lodge and Commune.  All this was considered incontrovertible by the pre-Vatican II Catholic Church – and masterfully re-presented to us for our edification and self-defense in ѕуηαgσgυє Rising.
    Both factions of Catholics mentioned above – the un-Magisterial and the Magisterial-minded – are believed to be traditional Catholics, but can they both be right when upholding practically opposite viewpoints?  Only the one with the Magisterial worldview really represents the Christian man and serves as the true soldier of Christ, leading the charge in the campaigns of the Church Militant and not fleeing from the toughest and most crucial battles, as does the other side, seemingly in desperate need of human respect or out of fear of the Jєωs – or both.  And again, always doing so under the pretext of a false and too often cowardly prudence.
    One of the advantages of being drawn to the Traditional Movement later on rather than earlier, was that I had to do a lot of heavy digging to catch up.   Fortunately as it turned out, I didn’t rely on half-Catholic traditionalists for information through which to form my mind in harmony with the Church, but eagerly consulted and heartily digested the works of the more steadfast traditionalists.  Once I’d been introduced to Father Fahey, for example, I promptly absorbed five of his best books in a rare off-duty weekend (2 days and 3 nights of intense reading, blinding headache and all).  It was a real turning point in my life.  An awakening, emancipation and transformation all in one.  Talk about a conversion of heart!  Those three days with Fr. Fahey as my personal tutor resulted in an interior transformation the likes of which I’ve experienced only once before: on a five-day Ignatian Retreat.  Thanks to this brilliant Irish priest, and shortly thereafter to such contemporary luminaries of orthodoxy and militancy as Archbishop Lefebvre, Bishop Williamson and Hugh Akins, I learned of the supreme importance of the papal encyclicals and the other docuмents of Sacred Tradition.  I especially learned the lesson, and am likely never to forget, that the Church has ever been at war with the secret societies that produced such insanely anti-Christian works as the Babylonian тαℓмυd, the Schema of the Grand Sanhedrin of Europe, the Instructions of the Alta Vendita, the 24 directives of the Learned Elders of Zion, and a great many more incontrovertible secret Jєωιѕн declarations of war against the followers of Jesus Christ.

    MORE ON ѕуηαgσgυє RISING

    And that which was still lacking from my studies and consequently from my grasp of things, those missing pieces that kept me from seeing the full picture in its clearest light (Judaism in the light of the Fatima Revelations, the Jєωιѕн intrigues behind Vatican II versus Papal Authority, 9/11 and the full extent of Israel’s part, the h0Ɩ0cαųst as  idolatry eclipsing Christ’s Sacrifice of Calvary, the principal role of organized Catholic Action in the resistance and restoration) were made abundantly clear in my mind by Hugh Akins’ masterpiece, ѕуηαgσgυє Rising.   I do not hesitate to make bold the assertion that this book, this unequalled treasury of scholarly exposition and docuмentation, is one of the most important books of our time.  This massive study is on a par with the finest works of Father Fahey.  If a greater compliment can be paid a Catholic author, I am at a loss for what it might be.
    But it is more than this.  There is nothing to compare to ѕуηαgσgυє Rising in the Catholic literary market today.  Nothing!  This book starts off brilliantly, progresses brilliantly, and ends up brilliantly – every chapter an experience in Christian enlightenment; the whole work nothing short of a masterpiece among masterpieces.  In this dynamic of literary excellence, Hugh Akins continues the struggle championed by the finest counterrevolutionaries of the past hundred-and-fifty-years – Gregory XVI, Bl. Pius IX, Fr. Oreglia and La Civilta Cattolica, Leo XIII, Cardinal Pie, Msgr. Dillon, St. Pius X, Msgr. Delassus, Father Cahill, Father Fahey, Pius XI, Pius XII, St. Maximilian Kolbe, Father Feeney, Cardinals Ottaviani and Mindszenty, Archbishop Lefebvre and Bishop Williamson… In this one stupendous volume we’ve been given a re-declaration of war against Organized Evil, so urgently needed today.  An abridged version of ѕуηαgσgυє Rising could have easily been made into an encyclical letter alerting mankind to the approach of a storm of apocalyptic proportions, had God seen fit to bless us with a worthy pope in these dangerously volatile end times.  All this I think explains why a traditional Catholic priest, a priest of the Society of St. Pius X whose identity cannot be divulged without him being bitterly persecuted by superiors that have all but lost their Catholic sanity, said in all truthfulness that “ѕуηαgσgυє Rising may well be the best book ever written on the subject.”
    I am in full agreement with that opinion.
    Corresponding to this and other soaring accolades ѕуηαgσgυє Rising has received, I would refer you to the initial book review I authored in attempting to convey something of the greatness of Akins’ tome.  The review is titled “The Book That Threatens to Shake the Very Foundations of the Zionist Enemy.” Mr. Dario McDarby of watchingthewickedseed.com and Dr. Thomas A. Droleskey of christorchaos.com were both courageous enough to post the review on their respective websites (Dr. E. Michael Jones has informed me that he too will post the same review in a forthcoming issue of Culture Wars magazine).  Equally worthy of mention too is the pair of excellent reviews penned by James Phillips, one of which is titled  “ѕуηαgσgυє Rising – A Book About Antichristian Judaism,”  and posted by Dr. Robert Sungenis in his online newsletter The Bellarmine Report at CatholicIntl.com; and the other, “Mystery of Iniquity Unfolded” published by Dr. Henry Makow on his site at henrymakow.com.   Interestingly, Dr. Makow is a Jєωιѕн anti-Zionist who works hard at unmasking the many and deadly intrigues of World Jєωry (incidentally, both of Mr. Phillips’ reviews have been purged from the host sites.  Anyone desiring to read them can access them, along with my own, at hughakinsblog at www.catholicactionresourcecenter.com).
    All I can say is God bless the few intrepid souls graced with the courage of their convictions – those who stand with Bishop Williamson and the SSPX Resistance Fathers, and those just mentioned who promote the books and apostolate of Hugh Akins even if the SSPX and the Fatima Center, and The Remnant and Catholic Family News shamefully and scandalously refuse to do so.  As for those supporting Akins, I collected a partial listing of names, organizations and websites, which you can view below.  By way of a necessary disclaimer, I make no claim to the worthiness – orthodoxy or otherwise – of any of these entities.  I do nothing more than thank them for recognizing the importance of Hugh Akins’ writings and his mission under catholicactionresourcecenter.com, and applaud their good sense to give his labors and projects fair and unbiased coverage.

    A FINAL APPEAL

    If ever there were “times that try men’s souls,” this is it!  There are those times.  Friends, we really need to start re-arranging our priorities, setting aside many lesser occupations.  The City of God is burning to the ground.  A Christian genocide is about to be unleashed against all of us and our loved ones.  Yes – here in America!  And yes – in the very near future!   When are good Catholics, good Christians, good parents and citizens going to say enough is enough?  When are they going to start helping put out the fire?
    Permit me to make one final appeal.  ѕуηαgσgυє Rising can be a real game-changer; placed in enough hands this book can be a huge factor in turning the tide against the criminal consortium of World Rulership headed by Ziobankers, Zioglobalists, ZioSatanists.  What are you willing to do, what sacrifices are you willing to make to save your loved ones, to deliver your Church and your country from the next and likely final offensive of International Jєωry?  When are you going to take your stand with Catholic Tradition, with the Church Militant, with the Magisterium, with the Counterrevolution?
    In short, when are you going to take your stand with Bishop Williamson and the SSPX Resistance Fathers, with Hugh Akins and ѕуηαgσgυє Rising?  Whatever you intend to do, for the love of God do it now.  Now is the time to stand up and be counted.  Tomorrow might be too late.
    I will sign off now, praying God sends much grace your way, asking only that you get behind the heroic author of ѕуηαgσgυє Rising, patronize his website and support his apostolate.  And, to the measure possible, show your support to the following list that make up a veritable network of Akins’ loyal friends and allies, all of us working together to forge an eleventh-hour revival of the Catholic Counterrevolution and launch a formidable Resistance to the enemies of God and humanity.  These enemies are always on the march and gathering momentum.  More Catholic traditionalists need to join with us and meet them in battle – that the City of God shall not perish!

    Prayerful regards in Jesus our Lord,

  • I've wanted to get this book for a long time but it's a little expensive and I don't really have the $$ to spare...There's only one problem with a good book like this: the people who really need to read it won't..only the people who already know what's going on are going to read it so, in effect, it amounts to a donation..( I'm sorry if that sounds rude or depressing but I really think it's largely true )...And yet, if I was still single and had a lot of disposable income I would order it. But God bless Hugh..if only the SSPX had had more layman like him it may not have gone down the drain.

  • I've been meaning to buy it for some time - do you know if a British publisher sells it? Or if you can buy it from America and get it sent here? Who publishes it?

    Thank you very much for the long piece on Mr. Akins' work. I think Bishop Williamson, speaking in London, gave the world 'fifty or sixty years' before the coming of the Antichrist.

    Sanhedrin 43a. Jesus was executed because he practiced sorcery.

    Gittin 57a. Jesus is boiling in "hot excrement."

    Sanhedrin 43a. On the eve of the Passover, Yeshu [i.e., Jesus. Spelling His name as "Yeshu" means "May His Name Be Blotted Out"] was hanged.Do you suppose that he was one for whom a defense could be made? Was he not an enticer (Mesith)?"

    Sanhedrin 106a. Jesus' mother was a whore: "She who was the descendant of princes and governors played the harlot with carpenters."

    Footnote to Shabbath 104b. Jesus' mother, "Miriam the hairdresser," had sex with many men.

    [Extracts from the revolting Babylonian тαℓмυd aken from 'Fish Eaters' of all places]

    This is appalling blasphemy, but, if you read up (The Plot Against the Church is very good) its not especially surprising. Gottmitunsalex has the quote I want and I have forgotten - something like, the Jєωs refuse to recognise Christ, therefore we cannot recognise the Jєωιѕн people'.

     They betrayed and crucified Him and they fell. The Jєωs are the enemy of Christ, I can't be blunter than that. They hate Our Lord, they hate the Catholic Church.  Read 'The Plot Against the Church' and works like it. The god of the тαℓмυd is a devil, an utter devil. We must pray for the perfidious Jєωs, that they may be turned aside from their evil ways and turn again to God but we must resist their pernicious efforts to destroy the Church and Catholic Order with all our might.
    Old-fashioned is good, modern is suicidal.

    "We cannot prevent Jєωs from going to Jerusalem, but we can never sanction it. Jєωs have not recognized Our Lord, therefore we cannot recognize the Jєωιѕн people. They had ample time to acknowledge Christ's divinity without pressure, but they didn't. Should the Jєωs manage to set foot on the once promised old-new land, the missionaries of the Church would stand prepared to baptize them. Jerusalem cannot be placed in Jєωιѕн hands."

    THE BOOK THAT THREATENS TO SHAKE THE
    VERY FOUNDATIONS OF THE ZIONIST ENEMY

     A   B o o k    R e v i e w

    by Alex D. Adessa

    (AlexDAdessa@comcast.net)

    What makes ѕуηαgσgυє Rising Unique?

    Why are enthusiastic readers saying that there’s “no other book quite like it”?

        To begin with it is thoroughly Magisterial – the Magisterium speaks through this book.  The Vicars of Christ have repeatedly, eloquently and authoritatively alerted mankind to the greatest errors and perils, and this one valiant soldier is making certain that their voices are not silenced, but broadcast loud and clear.  His generous use and congruent application of the pronouncements of the Popes impressively give the book its most solid footing – the very Rock upon which Jesus built His one Church;
        Not only fundamentally Magisterial, the sheer volume of papal quotes found throughout this book is doubly impressive, and lends itself to an even greater credibility.  I honestly cannot recall another volume, of the past or the present, and not even any of Fr. Fahey’s scholarly works, wherein so many encyclicals are given the prominence they deserve;
        What’s more, the author himself is egregiously Magisterial-minded, something that is reflected in many of his other writings, but in a particular way in the present book.  Even when interjecting his personal views, which he does as commentary on a host of pressing ideas, crises and perils, he does so as one whose studies were imbued in the mind of the Papacy, in the papal docuмents especially, of which he is well versed.  In fact, I am not alone in my belief that Hugh Akins is likely one of the foremost authorities on the great encyclicals of the 150 year period leading up to the Council of Vatican II, in which Sacred and Divine Tradition was more often than not rejected in favor of novelty, innovation, false doctrine and the spirit of the world, which ѕуηαgσgυє Rising shows to be the Jєωιѕн spirit.  I can’t think of another writer, researcher or scholar that approaches the author’s grasp of the divine treasury of pontifical letters and allocutions addressing the errors of modern man and the Christian remedy for the abyss of evils afflicting the modern nations.  Akins’ reputation as a trustworthy voice of truth and sanity in such impious times has been well established and indeed fully merited, whether one would reference some of his earlier works, In Defense of the Faith,  Christian Order and the Modern World, The Reign of Christ and the Revolt of Nations, Yuma: Faith and Power Locked in a Deadly Struggle for the Soul of America (fiction), No King But Caesar, or Modern Wars in the Light of Catholic Teaching…or, whether we consider the movement for Christ the King he effectively assisted through the Catholic Action organization, the League of Christ the King, of which he was founding president;
        Furthermore, ѕуηαgσgυє Rising is unique inasmuch as it is not just another exposition on Judaism, but rips the mask off the deadliest malignancy of all time – the “conspiratorial fanaticism of Christ-hating тαℓмυdist Jєωry,” what the author refers to as the “Masterplan of the Elders of Zion.”  To his credit, he more than adequately explains: “Yes, there is a perverse ideology that must be refuted and a sublime theology that must be defended, but considerably more urgent as the Zionist Scourge threatens to engulf the whole world, there is a diabolic plot that must be uncovered and a deadly Revolution that must be battled.  Just as conspiratorial Judaism posed the greatest threat to Our Lord whose death the wicked Pharisees plotted, so also conspiratorial Judaism poses the greatest threat to His loyal followers today – to the Church and to society.”

        Lastly, this book does not cower from some of the most critical even if taboo issues of the day, but rather confronts them directly, intelligently and with undaunted vigor.  Topics include everything from Vatican II and the modern apostasy to Israel, 9/11 and the phony War on Terror;  from the deception of homeland security to the growth of American Totalitarianism; from the historical authenticity of the Protocols of Zion to the Jєωιѕн тαℓмυd as preeminent hate literature of all time; from the Rothschild’s financial overlordship to the Federal Reserve and the coming planned collapse; from Two World Wars, genocide in the Holy Land and a Third World War in the making as the fruits of Jєωιѕн intrigue, to the Revelations of Fatima, the Errors of Russia and the Myth of the h0Ɩ0cαųst; and from the Antichrist carrying Israel to World Domination, to the End Times conversion of Jєωs and the ultimate glorious triumph of the Twin Hearts of Jesus and Mary…

    In short, this author and book do not back away from the combats of Christ that most Christians have been avoiding like the plague, but which, Akins asserts, they “cannot keep avoiding.”  It is our baptismal and confirmation duties, he contends, to renounce the works of Satan and rally against the organized opposition to the Divine Plan.

    A Tremendous Work of Christian Scholarship

    I had the distinct honor of proof-reading the pre-published manuscript before it materialized as ѕуηαgσgυє Rising.  Having been quite familiar with Hugh Akins’ writings and apostolate for some years, I expected his latest project to be nothing less than a work of excellence.  It turned out that I was wrong to set my expectations so low.  “A work of excellence” certainly does not do this phenomenal book justice.

    From the beginning – and more and more as I plunged into the main body of the book – I was extremely impressed by the amount of serious scholarship and docuмentation.  The amount of work Akins poured into his study, the mounds of data he compiled and arranged so coherently, not to mention the insightful commentary throughout, and of course the passion that was evident behind the whole project which motivated him to set aside all self-interest in publishing one of the most politically incorrect books of our time, were simply remarkable – heroic even.

    In ѕуηαgσgυє Rising Hugh Akins has tackled one of the most difficult and forbidden subjects,

     and deals with it in a masterly fashion.  Readers not well-read on the Zionist Peril might have too hastily dismissed a thesis based on the allegedly far-fetched notion of a “Jєωιѕн Conspiracy,” repeating the mindless “anti-Semitic” slur.  Happily, Mr. Akins avoids that trap and therefore disarms many of those who would speak all manner of calumny against him on that pretext.  He does this by making the distinction, in truthfulness and charity, between the Jєωιѕн people and their leaders; between the common and conspiratorial Jєω; between the Jєω that simply does not know Christ and those that hate and blaspheme Him and plot to eradicate His name and influence throughout the world.  The thoughts are his.  I am merely paraphrasing them.  Wisely, he reminds the reader of these vital distinctions a good number of times in his massive and quite stunning narrative.

    I for one really appreciated this approach, discerning the relatively benign from the incorrigibly  malignant.  It’s a monumental point.  It does not surprise me, therefore, that even certain Jєωιѕн persons have come forward to thank Mr. Akins for his treatise and encourage him in his life’s work.

    Unknown to most of our contemporaries thanks to a Zionist dominated American mainstream media, there are very many Jєωs that do not subscribe to the тαℓмυdic mentality or support the Zionist State of Israel with its terrorist tactics and imperialistic objectives.  These are Jєωs, it is true, that do not know the Messiah, but they have no hatred towards Him or the Christian people that worship Him as the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.  As Akins points out, these are likely the common decent Jєωs that will, in time, embrace the Messiah and convert to His one true Church.  These are not the Jєωs he exposes in his book; not the perfidious Jєωs he calls for Christian men to rally against – the Elders of Zion, architects and overlords of the Antichristian Conspiracy.

    And Mr. Akins brings to the table the most convincing arguments, substantiated by a vast amount of experts – Christian and Jєω alike – to build a rock-solid case.  Page after page, the amount of docuмentation he provides is more than astonishing.  I cannot imagine an intellectually honest reader remaining unconvinced after digesting 16 chapters and nearly 800 pages filled to overflowing with the most unequivocal passages from the most qualified sources – from the Vicars of Christ as noted above to the Judaic Overlords themselves, and not to dismiss Akins’ own quite brilliant exegesis.

    All the Characteristics of a Great Christian Classic

    ѕуηαgσgυє Rising has all the characteristics of a great Christian classic.  Upon reading the pre-published manuscript, I was moved to compare it to some of the greatest works of the greatest Christian minds.  I put it on the same level as the greatest works of Fr. Fahey, de Poncins and others…In a certain sense I think this book can be compared to St. Augustine’s timeless masterpiece, The City of God.

    Yes, it’s that good.

    It presents a picture of the grand scheme of good vs. evil in our modern world, and how we have arrived at where we are and what must be done to reverse the tide of evil.  The book provides a perspective that is found in few writings, a Catholic Worldview, militant and, as we said at the outset of our Review, Magisterial.  Complimentary of my own view that it is as good as the best of Fr. Fahey – if not better! – enthusiastic readers that sent in their accolades said the book was “reminiscent of the fiery orations of [the late Dominican] Fr. John O’Connor.”  Another distinguishes Hugh Akins as the “Catholic Solzhenitsyn of the 21st century.”  And one from New Zealand wrote: “AWESOME BOOK!  I anticipate this writing inspiring the uninspired.  It’s one of those rarest of literary works that reaches deep down into the soul of Christian manhood – and refuses to let go!”

    I love that line: reaches deep down into the soul of Christian manhood – and refuses to let go!  Readers of this Review will have to get a copy of ѕуηαgσgυє Rising to really appreciate what this means.

    A Valued Work of Reference

    In addition to everything else, ѕуηαgσgυє Rising is valued as a superb and well docuмented work of reference.  This is so even without an index, which had to be left out that the already over-sized book be kept under 800 pages.  More than the staggering 1,770 footnotes, ѕуηαgσgυє Rising contains a good number of bullets, each set featuring a concise litany of names, references or articles of interest for quick and easy reading.

    Rapid-fire literary bullets are interwoven into the text of this massive tome, consisting of

        The identities of some of the heavy hitters of the Judaic-Masonic Antichristian Conspiracy;
        The errors of Russia, the most important of which were unknown – until now;
        Urgent warnings of the Jєωιѕн threat from nine heroes of the Catholic Resistance;
        Details of the deadly intrigues against Christianity found in the Protocols of Zion;
        Shocking examples of psychopathic hatred emanating from the pages of the тαℓмυd;
        An overview of Papal actions taken against the Jєωιѕн Peril;
        The Vatican II docuмents and decrees that presume to repudiate Magisterial teaching;
        Modernist Rome’s subversive new agenda;
        Victories handed International Jєωry by the Vatican II Popes;
        The Church’s damning indictments against ʝʊdɛօ-Fɾҽҽmαsσɳɾყ;
        The startling confessions of Rakovsky and Rosenthal;
        Highlights of the ton of evidence of the Israel/9/11 connection;
        Graphic details of Israel’s genocidal mass-atrocities against Christians and Muslims in the Holy Land;
        A sampling of the mountains of proof that the h0Ɩ0cαųst was a gigantic hoax;
        Traditional Catholics that parrot the Zionist party line;
        The frightening countdown to World War III.

      A Most Quotable Author

    As I pointed out, this book contains an amazing number of outstanding passages from the most excellent sources.  This is impressive enough.  What is just as impressive are the countless profound lines from the author himself.  Here are but a few:

        “Truth will only be thought of as a hate crime by those who hate the truth.”
        “Good men should never fear the truth; only its suppression.”
        “We cannot stress it enough: not all Jєωs are our enemies – not even the majority of them, and not even all Israelis, but only the guilty ones; those few that have long plotted the downfall of Christianity…”
        “These are a people, race and nation who haven’t had a real claim on this ancient and most sacred land of Palestine since they were driven into exile in perpetuity as a divine punishment for nothing less than the crime of deicide, the MURDER OF GOD – the single most odious and reprehensible ‘hate crime’ ever perpetuated;”
         “The reign of тαℓмυdic Judaism is the Reign of Antichrist and Satan, which is why Catholics above all others are morally compelled to fight the Zionist Scourge…”
        “World Jєωification means World Communization, nothing less;”
        “Thanks mostly to Israel and our own Zionist leadership (those on the Right no less than the Left), we are the most hated people and nation on earth – and this puts our families, our communities and our country at enormous and unnecessary additional risk;”
        “What it amounts to is this: Give the devil an inch and he’ll take a yard; give him a yard and he’ll take a mile; concede to him a lie the size of the h0Ɩ0cαųst and he’ll take THE WORLD;”
        “Holy Mother Church says the fight against тαℓмυdic Judaism most certainly IS our fight; in all likelihood, our most important fight…the struggle against International Jєωry is inseparably connected to the struggle for the universal Kingship of Christ – the very mission of the Catholic Church – and of Catholic Action, the principal means by which His Kingship will be re-established in the world;”
        “Catholics cannot keep avoiding this combat;”
        “Not just Holy Mother Church but all of humanity is counting on the militant Catholic, so terribly few in number and yet so gloriously fortified in grace;”
        “The full realization of the Two Kingdoms at War is vividly presented to men of faith through the eternal clash between Catholicism on the one hand, and Bolshevism and Zionism on the other.  Put in the context of the Fatima revelations: the Truths of the Church versus the Errors of Russia.”

    And the following three paragraphs that pretty much summarize Akins’ book:

        “The Church’s whole teaching on Judaism is central to true Catholicism, and not something we are free to ignore or disbelieve.  Nor is the struggle against anti Christian Jєωry a combat we are exempted from joining.                                                                                                                                                          “We can’t really and fully even understand Catholicism itself without understanding the unique history, psyche and intrigues of Judaism.  How does one meditate on the passion of Our Lord without considering the central role played by the perfidious Jєωs?  Traditional and counterrevolutionary Catholicism puts everything in its rightful place.  History, race, nationality, anthropology, geopolitics do not adequately explain Jєωιѕн history or the Jєωιѕн mind or the Jєωιѕн plot against Christianity.  Only Roman and Magisterial Catholicism enables us to see how Jєωs are both ‘enemies of the Gospel’ and ‘beloved of God.’  Only counterrevolutionary Catholicism can really solve the metaphysical and geopolitical mystery of Judaism’s original sacred lineage and divine preference, its subsequent collective rebellion and just chastisement, its consecration to Satan and future role under Antichrist.  And perhaps most wondrous of all, its second chance and final deliverance – the End Times’ conversion of Jєωs Biblically foretold.

                  “Catholic theology coupled with a Catholic worldview alone puts it all in the right context, making us see

                   how we should properly view Judaism, neither understating nor exaggerating its good and bad points, and

                   neither denying the threat nor avoiding the battle.”

    These and many more equally profound lines make Hugh Akins a most quotable author.

    The Gratitude of a Vietnam Vet
    I want to mention, too, that as a Vietnam veteran I could not agree more with what fellow Vietnam vet Akins says here, in one of his numerous footnotes (I sent a personal note of gratitude to him for this one).  Speaking of the Vietnamese, Iraqi and Afghan wars, Akins says:

    “A disclaimer is in order at this time.  First, there are many similarities between the war in Vietnam and today’s War on Terror so-called.  Both are phony, no-win wars, both unconstitutional and shamelessly aggressive where innocents are targeted far more than enemy soldiers or terrorists and massive bombing raids make no distinctions between them; for many reasons both are blatantly immoral wars manufactured by our leaders for criminal and treasonous objectives which the controlled media habitually covers up.  All things considered, neither one of these wars met the strict criteria of the Church’s Just War principles.  Secondly, there are certain dissimilarities as well: The two anti-war movements, for example.  The movement galvanized against the Vietnamese War was a Communist-inspired, Communist-led movement to further Communist goals, whereas most of today’s anti-war sentiment and activism directed against our invasion and occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan and carpet bombing of several other countries comes from sincere Catholics, Christians and patriots with the best motives and intentions.  This explains why the Zionist controlled media gave vast, unlimited and non-stop coverage to the former anti-war movement while practically ignoring, or at least demonizing, the latter-day movement against the war.”

    Revelation, Revolution and Counterrevolution

    This book, a monumental literary and apostolic achievement, took three years to research and write, but it is the product of more than forty years of studying and fighting for the faith, of mastering all the issues surrounding the great Christian combat, particularly the cօռspιʀαcιҽs of the secret societies and the Church’s call to arms against them on behalf of Christ the King.

    Now, some of our contemporary co-religionists have no interest in the dark schemes of the wicked alliances bent on the destruction of souls, of the Church, and of Christian civilization.   They must be looked upon as weak Catholics, half Catholics, unmilitant Catholics, ignorant and/or cowardly Catholics.  Certainly they are not militant or Magisterial-minded Catholics.

    Theology reproves such unmanly men.  Theology asserts that religion encompasses not just Revelation, but Revelation, Revolution and Counterrevolution.  Providing an abundance of proofs, Mr. Akins makes this vividly clear in his book, and keeps reminding the reader of it, knowing that this crucial piece of information has escaped the majority of today’s Catholics – clergy and superiors no less than lay scholars and common folk.  There is a vast ignorance within the movement back to Tradition, and this writer and his book does a tremendous job helping fill the void.  There is more Catholic truth in 750+ pages of ѕуηαgσgυє Rising than you will find in a hundred other books put together.  You will have to read it for yourself to determine if that is an exaggeration.

    The Catholic Action Counterrevolution

    Of equal importance to alerting the whole Christian world to the most deadly and immediate threat, this book delivers one of the most powerful calls to action I have personally ever come across.  Imagine 50 of the most exigent papal encyclicals condensed into a single book and you will have some idea of its inestimable value.  As for the Catholic Action Counterrevolution, of which the author writes not just with his usual eloquence and power of persuasion but with the vast knowledge and extensive background of a leading expert in the field, one can easily imagine Catholic men calling out after finishing his book, “Where do I sign up?”

    Consider these selected excerpts:

        “What is Catholic Action’s threefold mission of which we speak?  First there is the spiritual; second, the social, public and universal; and third, the counterrevolutionary …The first mission, the spiritual, has to do with the reign of Christ over the minds and hearts of men; it is Our Lord’s reign in the soul and in the sanctuary of our homes and churches.  The second, or social mission, concerns His reign over the nations and every public institution therein; and the third, the least understood, least undertaken and yet most urgent of the three, the counterrevolutionary, which is but a necessary requisite of its mission to facilitate Christ’s reign in the world, to combat the reign of Satan in all his works, chief of which the Church has made clear are Judaism, Fɾҽҽmαsσɳɾყ and Communism;”
        “Catholic Action of today is nothing less than the Crusades of yesterday, although more intense and more urgent than the Crusades of old which saved Catholic Europe, for the enemy we face in our day is not only off on some distant land, such as the Holy Land, but is inside our own gates, inside the City of God, inside the very sanctuary of the Church.  That the City of God itself is under siege and being overrun is a paramount point, which also lends itself to both the primacy and urgency of Catholic Action, as explicated by the popes;”
        “That is why we cannot view Catholic Action as just another call to the service of the Church in a lay association given to optional or casual participation, as if in ordinary times of relative peace and security.  It is much more than that.  It is the call to combat in the face of an immediate and unrelenting threat.  Therefore, Catholic clergy and laity who take their religious faith and pastoral and manly duties seriously should look upon Catholic Action as Christian warfare in the fullest and most militant sense of the word;”
        “Yes, we must Christianize our homes and tend to the Christian education of our children; yes, we must be interested in our neighbor’s spiritual and even material welfare; yes, Christendom must be rebuilt; yes, the Kingship of Christ must be desired and striven for in a long, patient and gradual campaign; and yes, the interior and intellectual life of the soldier of Christ must be nurtured with great care, diligence, discipline and intensity.  But with all this, the City of God under siege and being overrun must be defended, her walls secured, her people protected, her enemies driven off;”
        “In other words, we cannot overly impress upon our brother Catholics, Christians and patriots, that this is a time of all-out war.  This is the time the troops loyal to Christ – every able-bodied man – must put aside many lesser things, no matter how otherwise worthwhile, in order to assemble, arm themselves and fight for altar, home and flag as if everything we hold dear was about to be lost.  Everything we hold dear is about to be lost.  Crypto-Judaic Totalitarianism is not just moving ahead but is accelerating at top speed in its last great offensive to extinguish the Light of Christ from the world of man.  By every calculation, the final assault is already underway; the hour of reckoning almost upon us;”
        “By all means frequent the sacraments as often, reverently and worthily as possible, and by all means clutch the rosary in your fist with great love, devotion and confidence.  But once armed with these weapons of Christ, let us not neglect to also arm ourselves with that other weapon of Christ – the sword of Catholic Action in defense of the Faith and Church and City of God – swinging it fiercely against the enemy forces that have penetrated everywhere and are about to overtake everything.”

    Indeed, where do we sign up!

    You’d Follow This Soldier Into Battle

    What struck this reviewer even before completing the author’s lengthy and absolutely gripping prefatory remarks is that, behind the masterpiece was a soul on fire; a lay apostle fortified in Tradition and fearless in its defense; a soldier of God driven by faith, armed with truth, tempered by humility, and guided by charity, justice, prudence and Catholic militancy that shone forth from the first to the last page of his great study.

    Akins is a powerful writer.  He gets and then keeps the reader’s attention.  He holds your interest page after page and chapter after chapter.  He doesn’t just penetrate the reader’s mind but his heart.  He inspires.  Educates.  Compels.  Motivates.   Yes, he presents his case intelligently and convincingly.  But his true genius is in winning over the reader deep down in his soul, as we quoted one reader saying.  He stirs men’s souls and prompts them to action, but they do not follow as a mindless mob or herd.  He’s the sort of soldier good men would not hesitate to follow into battle, confident of serving a righteous cause.  He convinces them of the great nobility of the struggle – here again his Magisterial-mindedness shows through.  The combat has been defined by Peter and his Successors.  And he convinces men of the innerrmost sincerity of his intent by being one-mind with the Supreme Pontiffs.

    Many Catholics today talk the good talk, but far too few of them fight the good fight.  Hugh Akins has long been engaged not only in fighting the good fight but in leading the charge in defense of the City of God.  He has the fighting spirit of Militant Catholicism and continues leading the charge through his latest and most important book, as well as the forthcoming publishing projects.

    Testimony of Three Priests

    The accolades cited next come from the ranks of the clergy.  Three have been selected out of some three dozen priests that have strongly encouraged and supported the writing of ѕуηαgσgυє Rising and whose testimonies give all due praise to this exceedingly praiseworthy exposition.

        “ѕуηαgσgυє Rising may well be the best book ever written on the subject;”
        “Reading so many intelligible and profound passages from the pontifical letters, I realize how incomplete my seminary training and post-seminary studies really were.  The Magisterium has spoken, but we have not heard.  We might as well have turned a deaf ear to the Master Himself.  You’ve made your point quite convincingly: no matter how much spiritual good the traditional movement has done, we have our failings – some quite serious.  The City is being overrun because there were strategic fortifications we left unguarded, or battles we simply did not see fit to fight.  Your book, it seems to me, represents the Church’s last-ditch attempt to mount one final all-out counter-attack, the outcome of which will extend into eternity for countless millions of souls.  I commend and I thank you, and send my priestly blessings upon your labors for Christ;”
        “ѕуηαgσgυє Rising is not just another important treatise on the greatest peril of our time; the book is equally a powerful inspiration.  It’s not just another expose’ on тαℓмυdic fanaticism but a compelling summoning of all good men to organize against it.  Here is a tremendous work of Christian scholarship, Magisterial apologetics, and counterrevolutionary militancy by an accomplished writer, a passionate Catholic and a fearless defender of Church and country.  I would be less than the good shepherd I was ordained to be if I neglected to encourage my flock to read, study and disseminate this very excellent, very timely book.”

    Grass-Roots Movement Needed

    ѕуηαgσgυє Rising is a monumental achievement that is screaming to be heard and destined to impact the Church and the world in a big way, unto the shaking of the very foundations of the enemy’s stronghold.

    But, as readers of this Review probably know, there are hidden forces at work with unlimited reach and resources bent on suppressing books as important as this one.  Moreover, the leaders of the Traditional Movement have, by far, shown themselves unwilling to recognize and promote this literary and missionary masterpiece, ѕуηαgσgυє Rising (is it ignorance or cowardice?).  It is therefore left to the few zealous souls who have the grace and courage to face up to the immense importance of this work, and to do what they can to introduce it to many others.

    I therefore sincerely implore my fellow Catholics to make it your mission to promote ѕуηαgσgυє Rising, to help get it into as many hands as possible.  I beseech you to join with other good Christians in building a grass-roots movement to circuмvent the normal channels of distribution in order to effectuate a very broad readership of ѕуηαgσgυє Rising within your own sphere of contacts.  Some of you can reach a few people, others a few dozen, others still maybe hundreds or even thousands, depending on your status in the world.  Everyone reading this Review can do something.  Do what you can to get the word out about this very powerful and timely book.

    In doing so you will be performing a wonderful service to souls, to the Church and to your country.

  • Whilst I am bidding farewell to Cath Info, on the point of ѕуηαgσgυє Rising, I never saw it for sale in Ireland or any SSPX folk requesting a copy or even talking about it.

    I was open to ordering a couple of copies to distribute but the interest was not there.

    If a SSPX youth group don't even bother to turn up to a conference given by the cleric chosen by the Archbishop, what hope have we of them reading this type of book.

    My point really is the lack of interest in this book. I glanced around a Society chapel once to see who perhaps might be interested in ѕуηαgσgυє Rising.

    Nobody really jumped out. If people haven't the inclination you can't really force them.

    I decided against being out of pocket so didn't bother ordering the book in bulk.

  • Like 'The Jєωιѕн Revolutionary Spirit' it is difficult reading but with Tradition, Family, and Property (TFP) spoken favourably among SSPX, you would wonder if opposition to the book is politically motivated.

    Also with Declan Ganley back on the scene many SSPX laity will support him. Libertas aligned to the Simon Wiesenthal Centre several years ago but this did not stop Irish SSPX laity from supporting him. He is welcome to his United States of Europe and the "Free Market".

    Absolutely.

    I highly recommend that everyone here, after reading the Bible, then moves on to reading Jєωιѕн Revolutionary Spirit.  The book is GOOD.  Very informative.  Very important.

    JUDAISM DISCOVERED MICHAEL HOFFMAN
    58

    To the Christian Reader

    Judaism is a kind of cosmic red line even for the wealthiest, the most famous and most powerful movers and shakers on this planet. Astonishing, is it not? There are men and women of steel and kings of the business deal who will face down any foe or competitor, but flee in dread from the least sign of rabbinic opposition. They won't cross that red line. They know it means the termination of their reputation, career and business, no matter who they are or how much they command in resources and materials. Presidents, popes, prime ministers and moguls all fall down like dominoes before тαℓмυdic supremacy. In our colleges and universities тαℓмυdic and Zionist thought cops are on patrol, vigilantly detecting the least whiff of critical investigation and skepticism toward Judaism's claims about itself, quick to expose this "slander" and docuмent that "chilling" account of academic freedom "misused" to question the facade which Orthodox Judaism projects to the world.
    One of these thought police is Amy-Jill Levine, a professor at Vanderbilt Divinity School. Her 2006 opus, The Misunderstood Jєω: The Church and the Scandal of the Jєωιѕн Jesus is an exegesis based on the intellectual equivalent of rabbinic masturbation fantasies as applied to the gospel of Christ. Her book's subtext is a guilt-trip imposed on her fellow professors to ensure that they conform to the red line in their teaching and studies: "Ms. Levine's chilling tales of casual anti-Judaism among scholars who should know better rekindles the urgency of the task...Ms. Levine's docuмentation of the insouciance with which liberal Christians slander Jєωs and Judaism is perhaps the book's most important contribution."41 We note that those same scholars are free to exhibit "casual" anti-Catholicism and "slander" Muslims without fear of public censure or threats to their tenure.
    There is something in the preceding scenario that we find terribly wrong, and more than that, a kind of ritual defilement and mockery of the promises of Christ. We claim to be Christians, we claim the power bequeathed to us at Pentecost by the Holy Spirit, and yet we utterly tremble when we even consider setting straight rabbinic mendacity and supremacy. If a book is worthy of its mission, if it is studied by men and women of good will,

    then it can indeed undercut and eventually overthrow the horrible and cowardly idolatry of the soothsaying scions of renascent Babylon, whom the world calls "rabbis." In a field that others more qualified than this writer have abandoned, we have ventured into the vacuum.
    The decay of original law and doctrine is not unique to Judaics. We could just as readily write a book titled, "Churchianity: The Anti-Christ Religion of Usury, Greed, War-Mongering, State-Worship and Scripture-Twisting." Although it will be a difficult point for some people to grasp, because racial stereotyping is Hitlerian and at the same time rabbinic, any notion that the decay and destruction of Biblical doctrine in the hands of Judaics is a spiritual or racial characteristic unique to them, is essentially a rabbinic viewpoint, and if we mirror it we are re-creating the suicidal/self-extinguishing Hitler meme, which is a rabbinic creation. 42
    The rabbis want to murder and destroy the am ha'aretz, the Judaics who reject the Oral law/ Traditions of the Elders. We see this in their praise for their agent, Hitler, who they hail as an "avenging angel" who executed the Judaic "sinners" who had rejected the authority of the тαℓмυd (the majority of the Judaics of Germany were "sinners" along these lines). Yehuda Bauer writing in the Israeli newspaper Haaretz:
    "The panel discussion on 'Haredim and the h0Ɩ0cαųst' that recently aired on (television) Channel 1 should have included the views of the Lubavitcher Rebbe (Chabad's so-called 'King Messiah'), Rabbi Menachem Schneerson. On the subject of the h0Ɩ0cαųst, the Rebbe...compare(s) God to a surgeon who amputates a patient's limb in order to save his life. The limb 'is incurably diseased ... The Holy One Blessed Be He, like the professor-surgeon...seeks the good of Israel, and indeed, all He does is done for the good.... In the spiritual sense, no harm was done, because the everlasting spirit of the Jєωιѕн people was not destroyed.'
    "The Rebbe's stance, therefore, is clear: The h0Ɩ0cαųst was a good thing because it lopped off a disease-ravaged limb of the Jєωιѕн people — in other words, the millions who perished in the h0Ɩ0cαųst — in order to cleanse the Jєωιѕн people of its sins (cf. After this text was published in the summer of 1980, kicking up a storm, Chabad claimed it was based on an inaccurate Hebrew translation of talks that the Rebbe delivered in Yiddish. The Rebbe, they said, had no idea his remarks were being published. It seems hard to believe Schneerson would not go over every word published in his name, let alone a text put out in Hebrew by Machon Lubavitch in Kfar Chabad. In fact, there is a docuмent written by the Rebbe himself, in Hebrew, which bears his statements about the h0Ɩ0cαųst. The late Chaika Grossman, a leader of the underground in the Bialystok ghetto, who survived the war...published an article in Hamishmar newspaper on August 22, 1980, quoting Schneerson and expressing her profound shock at his words. On August 28, 1980, the Rebbe sent her a reply on his personal stationery. The letter, apparently typewritten, contains a number of corrections in his own handwriting, and is signed by him. In it, the Rebbe confirms everything in the published text. His remarks, Schneerson explained, were based on the Torah. Hitler was a messenger of God...The 'surgery' he spoke of was such a massive corrective procedure that the suffering (i.e., the murder of the Jєωs) was minor compared to its curative effect.
    "I was invited to take part in this television debate, but my appearance was canceled at the last moment, perhaps because of my opinions on the subject..Chabad is a large and influential Hasidic dynasty. It has a messiah who lived and died, and many look forward to his resurrection....Therefore it is important to know what its leader said. The 'King Messiah' did not deny the h0Ɩ0cαųst. He justified it." 43 (End quote).
    Another rabbi who has praised Hitler for cleansing the earth of тαℓмυd-doubting Judaics is the distinguished Israeli, Ovadia Yosef: "An eminent rabbi who heads Israel's third biggest political party sparked an uproar in Israel for saying that 6 million Jєωs perished in the h0Ɩ0cαųst because they were reincarnations of sinners. ѕуηαgσgυє of Satan Chapter One
    The ѕуηαgσgυє of Satan

    Sensing that Hellenistic hegemony over Palestine had run its course, Pompey played off the descendants of Alexander the Great's generals against each other as a prelude to seizing power and completing the ring of Roman rule around the Mediterranean, the ocean the Romans called "ours." In 64 BC Pompey deposed Phillip II, the last Seleucid, and made Syria a Roman province. Pompey soon learned the Jєωs would not be incorporated into the Empire without a strug¬gle, just as his successors found they could not keep the Jєωs in the Empire with¬out bitter struggles.
    One year after taking Syria without firing a shot, so to speak, Pompey was enmired in a siege of Jerusalem. He called for battering rams from Tyre and had trees felled to cross the moats surrounding the city walls, but success was uncer-tain. The Jєωs had water and food; they also had the Temple to their god, about which Pompey had heard impressive if contradictory reports. While Pompey sat outside the walls, the priests sacrificed to their god, who seemed disposed to hold the Romans at bay.
    So Pompey studied the Jєωιѕн religion. The Jєωιѕн prohibition against work on the Sabbath allowed bearing arms only to defend against attack. The Roman soldiers therefore laid down their arms on the Jєωιѕн Sabbath and instead under-mined the city's walls, against which Jєωιѕн religious scruple allowed no action.
    In June 63 BC one Temple tower fell. Roman soldiers poured through the breach into the Temple precincts where they slaughtered the Jєωιѕн priests. Many Jєωs committed ѕυιcιdє by throwing themselves off the Temple battlements. Oth¬ers immolated themselves on pyres intended for sacrificial animals. All in all, 12,000 Jєωs died. With victory imminent, Pompey's curiosity about the inner sanctum of the Jєωιѕн Temple replaced the concerns of war. Wading through the blood of slain priests, Pompey penetrated to the holy of holies to find that the object of Jєωιѕн worship was not an ass's head, as Alexandrian propagandists had claimed. He discovered that, in Roman terms, there was no object of worship. Per¬haps Pompey found the empty shrine unsettling; perhaps he was disconcerted by a presence he felt even though no object represented it. Either way, Pompey halted before the Temple treasury with its gold and retreated empty-handed.
    The Temple was left standing, but the walls of Jerusalem were razed. A tax was levied against the Jєωs in amounts appropriate to a conquered province. The Temple had been violated, but it remained intact. Temple sacrifices continued, but Israel ceased to exist as a nation with a state.
    Pompey executed the most fanatical Jєωιѕн revolutionaries, the Zealots. He named the pliable, dim-witted Hyrcanus high-priest and ethnarch, ensuring he

    27

    The Jєωιѕн Revolutionary Spirit

    was only a figurehead by putting him under the authority of Antipater, whom he made governor of Judaea. The more formidable Aristobulus was sent to Rome with his son Antigonus and a horde of Jєωιѕн prisoners, whose descendants, known as libertini, or the emancipated, settled on the right bank of the Tiber on the slopes of the Vatican hill. The bridge across the Tiber was known as the Pans Judaeorum, indicating the race of the settlers, and that they had been there for a long time.
    Defeat led to Jєωιѕн dispersion. From that dispersed seemingly hopeless posi¬tion, the descendants of the Jєωs began to wage, in Graetz's words, "a new kind of warfare against long-established Roman institutions" which would ultimately "modify or partly destroy them."1 Graetz is referring to Christianity—the most successful Jєωιѕн sect, in his view. To conquer Rome from within, Judaism had to be modified, however, and it "became estranged from and placed itself in harsh antagonism to the parent source."2 But Graetz could have referred to other Jєωιѕн sects that were not estranged because, while they were swallowed by the Roman empire, they refused to be digested by it. As Roman oppression increased, Jєωιѕн settlements across the empire became the source of ιnѕυrrєcтισn and revolution¬ary activity that would threaten the existence of the empire in a different way from the ultimately successful Christian threat.
    The Romans were generally adept at ruling conquered nations, but Roman rule in Palestine was a story of blunders and oppression. Because the Maccabees had thrown off Greek hegemony 100 years before Pompey's triumph, a similar victory against the Romans didn't seem impossible. The defeat of the Jєωs by yet another foreign power, together with the arrogance and blunders of the Romans thus fueled apocalyptic fervor among the Jєωs.
    Apocalyptic literature started under the Hellenistic hegemony due to Alex-ander the Great's conquests in 333 BC. Antiochus IV Epiphanes pressed assimila-tion in 167 BC by abolishing Jєωιѕн practices and establishing the cult of Zeus in the Temple. He ordered pagan sacrifice on the new altar of the Temple. The priest Mattathias and his five sons called upon the Jєωs to revolt. Three years of war fol¬lowed, during which the Book of Daniel was written. Daniel is the first in a series of Apocalypses, or revelations of things hidden, that culminate in the book of Revelation, which completes the canon of Christian scripture. Apocalyptic writ¬ing enjoyed its greatest popularity from 200 BC to 100 AD, a time of distress and persecution for Jєωs and then for Christians. Daniel, according to the editors of New American Bible, "was composed during the bitter persecution carried on by Antiochus IV Epiphanes (167-164) and was written to strengthen and comfort the Jєωιѕн people in their ordeal" by showing "that men of faith can resist temptation and conquer adversity."3
    In the second chapter of Daniel, King Nebuchadnezzar dreams of a statue with feet of clay, which none of his sages can interpret. Daniel explains the four parts of the statue correspond to four kingdoms which will rule the earth. The fourth kingdom "will crush and break all of the earlier kingdoms" in a sequence of

    ѕуηαgσgυє of Satan

    events familiar to the inhabitants of Palestine. But the fourth kingdom under the dominion of the fourth beast "shall devour" as well "the whole earth, beat it down and crush it." The Book of Daniel is describing the trajectory of human history in a fallen world. One empire follows the other; the only constant: oppression, with each successive kingdom more tyrannical than the previous one.
    The Book of Daniel also proposes an "end to history." "A stone broke away, untouched by any hand, and struck the statue, struck its feet of iron and earthenware and shattered them." According to Daniel's interpretation: "In the time of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed, and this kingdom will not pass into the hands of another race; it will shat¬ter and absorb all the previous kingdoms and itself last for ever—just as you saw the stone untouched by hand break from the mountain and shatter iron, bronze, earthenware, silver and gold."
    After the triumph of the worst and most oppressive fourth kingdom, Daniel has another vision in which "I saw One like a son of man coming on the clouds of heaven." The "son of man" is the messianic designation; the Messiah will establish dominion unlike any other. "His dominion is an everlasting dominion that shall not be taken away; his kingship shall not be destroyed." The divided lower part of the statue—half clay and half iron—probably refers to the failed merger of the Seleucids and the Ptolomies, Alexander the Great's successors who failed to keep his legacy of conquest unified. The fourth kingdom is traditionally taken as Rome, but that can be ascribed only to prophecy or hindsight.
    Pompey did what Daniel said the fourth beast would do: he conquered Jerusalem in 63 BC. He crushed the kingdom of clay and iron, but his victory only intensified the Messianic expectation. The triumph of the fourth kingdom indicated that the Messiah's coming was imminent. The Son of Man was to deliver the Jєωs from foreign oppression and inaugurate an unending kingdom that would break apart all empires. Oppression fueled Messianic fervor. The Messiah "became more superhuman as the situation became more hopeless."4 The Messiah became for the oppressed Jєωιѕн people "a mighty warrior" to destroy Israel's foes and "take captive the leader of the Romans and bring him in chains to Mount Zion, where he will put him to death" and "establish a kingdom which shall last to the end of the world." Deliverance from political oppression would occur in the only manner the Jєωιѕн people considered possible—through a mighty general who "would show himself invincible in war." As the conflict with Rome became bitterer, "messianic fantasies became with many Jєωs an obsessive preoccupation."5
    From the Christian perspective, the apocalyptic age culminated in Christ. Jesus, repeatedly referring to himself as "the Son of Man," was invoking the prophecy in Daniel and pointing to himself as the inaugurator of the Messianic Kingdom. As his earthly life became more public, it became clear that Jesus was no mighty' warrior of the sort the Jєωs admired in King David. He claimed to be of be House of David, but it was unclear how a man who was not a warrior was going to bring freedom to captives held in bondage by Roman arms.

    When I clicked on this link in the 'Preview' panel it worked beautifully.
    And it works everywhere else.

    Edited to check if it worked when pasted, and it doesn't!  I have told Matthew of the problem which seems to be here on this website.

    "In His wisdom," says St. Gregory, "almighty God preferred rather to bring good out of evil than never allow evil to occur."

    "Some preachers will keep silence about the truth, and others will trample it underfoot and deny it. Sanctity of life will be held in derision even by those who outwardly profess it, for in those days Our Lord Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor but a destroyer."  St. Francis of Assisi
