  • Leadership that leads.

In an eternal moment the Holy Trinity began to expand the expressions of Their  Love beyond anyone's wildest expectations and angels were begotten.  In God these  angels were given infused knowledge, immortality, impassibility and a choice.  We do  not know the choice although many saints tell us that it was the worship of the humanity  of the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity.

Lucifer (lux fero), light bearer was the leader of all the angels in the gifts given by the  Triune God.  His leadership role was to give the light of his infused wisdom to the  angels under him.  It is said that he became so enamored with his own brilliance that  he preferred that the other angels look upon him and grant him the worship that is due  to God alone.  This act of "grasping at equality" with God caused the fall of one-third of   the angels.  Hence the devils were cast down to earth to prey upon another extension  of the Divine Love: mankind.

Leadership lacking humility affects all the creatures that should have benefited from the  gifts given by God.  Humility bears its fruit when obedience to God's Will is preferred   above all else in the creature's life.  St. Michael battled the proud Lucifer with the  sword of humility and obedience to God.  His conquering will preferred the Love of  God over all else and hence he casts Satan out of the kingdom of God.  Lucifer was no  longer the light bearer but Satan, the accuser of our brothers.

St. Michael stands with the symbol of the Cross as the eternal sign of victory and the  sign of true leadership.  Unless you become like a child you shall not enter the kingdom  of heaven.  It is the service of humility that marks the childlike personality.  The purity and  humility of St. Michael attracts our hearts to follow his lead.  His leadership is by the  example of virtue not by force.

Consider the difference in the leadership today.  Seven popes have followed the same  pattern:  neglect the obedience to God and reshape it according to our divine and inspired  will.  They would not save the world through the consecration of Russia to the Immaculate  Heart as God demanded.  The consequences are evident:  multiplication of conflicts, souls lost in a confused church and no one knows what will happen next.  Leadership in the Church has failed the world.  The vacuum of true leadership is sucking in the ѕуηαgσgυє of  Satan to chastise the leadership.  It is raising up the Moslems to do battle against a totally demoralized Catholic remnant.

Is there a solution to this divine dilemma?  Possibly two:  first, the Holy Father is enlightened by the actions of St. Michael and he takes up the sword of obedience and performs the consecration according to God's design and not his.  Second, Catholics  head to the Ark, the womb of Our Blessed Mother, and place themselves deeply in  her maternal heart and pray in reparation for the failure of our leadership today.  When the  ashes of a fallen age burned in its own lusts is finished, then that remnant of Mary's children will begin to build the new age of peace and consolation upon the true virtue of humility and obedience to God's will.

In the hearts of Jesus, Mary and Joseph,

     Fr. Richard Voigt
