The mainstream church of the future will have all kinds of people in it doing their own thing without much regard to any unifying purpose. If the Society finally purchases its franchise in the patheon, it will be because it fears being locked out of history and losing any influence in the affairs of man, small though it is. The original traditionalist model has become so many trad-lite types wanting their cake and eat it. Enter a growing population of church-hopping, bet-hedging, career-chasing hybrids that staid priests will have problems keeping up with if they want an audience.
