  • Does anyone go to this church? I read that they might have priests ordained either in the new rite or by novus ordo consecrated bishops.

    Full address is:

    St. Michael's Church,
    4524 Garfield Avenue
    Carmichael (Sacramento), CA 95608

What is the name of the priest that you are referring to? There several people on CathInfo o that are familiar with the various SSPX priests, and should be able to tell you if they were ordained by SSPX bishops or not.

I'm a little hesitant about calling since I'm not really familiar with SSPX. It's not for me, but for someone I know who lives in California. It's the closest traditional church the person has in the area.

  • I believe St Michael's is a mission chapel. IIRC, Fr Daley from Arcadia is the priest that goes there.

  • It seems as if Frs. Dailey, Waschiko, and Sheahan were all ordained by SSPX bishops at STAS.

    Fr. Dailey in Arcadia

    Fr. Michael Sheahan

And Fr. Waschiko was ordained this last spring.

  • There is a fantastic resource on a website called Catholic Candle that gives a directory of a great number of SSPX priests to list who ordained them. The person who compiled it is anonymous, but he gives sources for almost all the information he gives, and the whole purpose of the list is to let people who which SSPX priests are Novus Ordo-ordained or traditionally ordained.

In general the guy who wrote the contents on the site is a bit off, and I don't recommend any of his opinion pieces, but the list he compiled of all those priests and who ordained them is a monumental work in traditional Catholicism. It deserves to be more well-known.

There’s an independent TLM chapel in Santa Clara (Homestead/Benton) called Our Mother of Perpetual Help. Father Gregory Foley (ex-SSPX) is the celebrant.  I believe the Mass times are 9:00 and 11:00.

70 miles West of Carmichael, CA is Santa Clara, CA.  There’s a small independent chapel called Our Mother of Perpetual Help.  It’s been in operation since around 2002. The celebrant is Father Gregory Foley (ex SSPX). Ordained by +ABL in 1985. He has a great Irish ☘️ style sermon.  I believe the Sunday Masses are 9:00 and 11:00.
