I do remember a lecture given by Fr. Kurtz where he outlined why thought Bishop Williamson was either in error or overly exuberant regarding Bishop Fellay and the ongoing negotiations with Rome but there was nothing that stood out as dangerous or even near-dangerous to the Catholic faith of a chapel goer.

The topics which Bp Williamson and Bp Fellay disagree are certainly relevant to the Faith. Just read Holli's post a couple of pages back. Vatican II, Religious Liberty -- these are the topics Bp Fellay has commented on in recent history which the Resistance disagrees.

So, I can't see how giving a lecture in which Fr Kurtz spells out how Bp Fellay is correct and Bp Williamson is incorrect can be described as not being even near-dangerous to the Faith.

What part of Fr. Zendejas' position is Fr. Kurtz disagreeing with?

He says (among other things) the faithful should avoid Fr. Zendejas because he's an "independent priest" while at the same time Fr. Kurtz is employing a different independent priest to offer Mass for several of the SSPX chapels in this area.

As Matthew said, it's about personalities, not doctrine.

Fr. Leo Haynos (ordained about 2 years ago) to become Prior of St.Louis, MO

Fr. Patrick Rutledge to become head of (boys?) High School in St. Mary's KS

The theme is YOUNG BLOOD TAKES THE REINS OF POWER.

i seem to recall the same thing happening @95 when +Fellay became superior, they basically transferred all the priors with experience and any loyalty to +Williamson. the better to control the situation. these factions existed way back then and it should have broken when the signs of the cracks showed. Those who opposed the direction that began even before then really cant say that they didn't know what was happening. personally i don't understand how some in the resistance can justify breaking away now if they were aware then. which is why i have opted for eastern rite churches until the tide finally breaks and it is safe to surface. i don't feel the need to duck the "new prior" and i don't want to duck the crazy "friends of the exorcist"

please dont take this wrong i am just saying why i am avoiding the situation when i can. there are good priests on both sides, and faithful as well.

knowing who gets transferred to where is importaint since they are using it to back an agenda....

ignore me and continue :jester:

I never understood the Catholics that go "eastern" as their response to the Crisis in the Church.

There is a famous saying: "To thine own self be true." If you were born in one of those countries with a different Rite, great! There is more than one legitimate, valid Rite in the Catholic Church. There's nothing wrong with the other Rites.

There's also nothing wrong with being Greek. But I, born of German and Irish descendants, cannot lay claim to being Greek no matter what happens to the world, the Church, or the economy. To me, it's simply not an option!

So if you're a white guy born in America, forget about it. You're Roman Rite. You were born and baptized in that Rite, and that is where God placed you. And so you should stay Roman Rite.

At what time in Church history was it normal for a person to change their Rite like people change their underwear? Never before Vatican II and its aftermath. Even "parish shopping" is a modern phenomena. But at least parish shoppers stick to the same Rite!

If you ask me, it's not all that dissimilar to a famous sports figure changing his gender, or an NAACP leader changing her race.

I'll tell you one thing -- it certainly screams "identity crisis" and/or "I'm a teenager" at the very least. Especially when said white guy has some eastern script in his sig line. :)

Talk about "confused" and/or "trying to find himself".
