(kreuz.net)(kreuz.net) Pope Benedict XVI. will only take care of the dossier "Society of St. Pius" in summer vacation -- therefore after the High Feast of St. Peter and Paul.
This is what Europe's largest Catholic internet site 'kreuz.net' has learned from Vatican circles.
Because of the current difficult inner-Church situation that is involved with the reconciliation with the SSPX must be immediately managed before there can be a unification.
Till now observers originally thought that the Vatican would have made known the reconciliation between the Holy See and the Society of St. Pius X on Pentecost

May I make a suggestion?
Any and all resistance groups forming should carefully and thoroughly vet all members of the group (founders, laity and associating clergy). Way too many double agents and saboteurs around.
Property should be owned by the laity and rights of association determined by the congregation.
No more sellouts. No more Fr. Wickens scenarios either.

Good suggestion Catherine!
No one vetted Maximilian Krah before he became an SSPX corporate officer...or did they?
It would have been fun to hear him explain his hobby as a Tel Aviv Universiy fundraiser?

In the meantime the fors and againsts can live together pretending everything is normal? Ratzinger may well want to wear the internal SSPX opposition down!

Yes by acting as though they've "averted" or "delayed" the crisis they can tighten the screws and clamp down and expel those who have shown resistance.
The agreement with the Vatican is not the fundamental issue. The problem in the SSPX is the centralized power of the current superior general.
If, as was originally intended, the superior general was only supposed to be a priest, not a bishop, this grave situation might have been obviated.
