Machabbes, it is Father Johnson.
Seraphim, I agree with you and we are prayerfully deciding whether or not to return. Please pray for us.
See, they can't really EXPEL anyone without losing their tax-exempt status, supplied jurisdiction, etc.
But making your life hell until you quit? That's another story. That they can and WILL do -- in fact they have done it in many places. It's their new
modus operandi.
I agree with Seraphim -- you will do countless good by giving yourself to Christ, humbly accepting your own sufferings just as Our Lord accepted His Passion and death.
Of all the sufferings on this earth, I think it's most pleasant to be treated like Christ was, say, before Holy Thursday. He was Love and Truth itself, and look at the hatred and lies thrown at Him!
I'm sure Christ's feelings were extremely hurt by the ingratitude and hatred he met in so many quarters -- from those He loved. From His own people.
I went through something similar at my chapel, though our priest is sympathetic to the resistance. Fr. Rostand fired my wife and me from our volunteer positions at the chapel. If that's the cost of being on the side of Truth, then bring it on.
We continue to go to Mass there. Even if Father ever did the unthinkable (which I doubt he would do) and tried to expel us from the chapel, I think I'd show up several times just to help separate the sheep and the goats firmly into 2 camps.
At that point, anyone against +Williamson, Fr. Pfeiffer (etc.) would have a certain measure of bad will and culpability.
Right now, God knows how much culpability they have. I've spoken with people who actually LIKED Fr. Hewko very much, but rather than consider his words, they're just "praying for him to return". They would sooner think that a holy priest has gone astray, than consider that maybe they're wrong.
Very sad.
