  • Thanks for posting.  I see a priest I used to go to for confession on occasion has moved to another state.  I will now have to investigate whether his replacement is ordained in the Old Rite by a bishop consecrated in the Old Rite.

  • I wonder what happened to Fr. Michael McMahon. Seems he's not listed in the USA.

  • Is that Fr. KEVIN Robinson at Caldwell, NJ and Pittston, PA?  The Australian?  Or Fr. Paul Robinson of science book fame?

If I am not mistaken, he was transferred to Canada. I am not sure which priory in Canada though.

Correct. He was moved to Calgary

From what I hear, he's cleaning house of Novus Ordo innovations in Calgary.
No more women leading the rosary.  No more women responding to the priest when there's no altar server.
In fact no rosary before Mass.  (women started this in the mid 60's)
The church is now quiet.  People lining up for confession can now concentrate on their confession.
People in the pews can prepare for the Mass.
    Reverence is being restored. :applause:

So all the chapels that pray the rosary before Mass are doing something wrong?  The rosary also muffles the sounds of the confessional. I think that's it's wrong to stop it.

I'm just reporting.  Before Vat II it was never the norm.

Remember, many people travel long distances to Mass on Sunday, and before and after Mass is the only time they have to spend before the Blessed Sacrament.  The rosary can be prayed as a family or privately elsewhere.

Also, some chapels are now adding a litany and other prayers following the whim of the leader

Quiet time before Mass should be used for preparation.  Check your missal.  There are many prayers of preparation for Mass.

As for confession, if you remain at least 3-4 feet from the confessional you shouldn't be hearing anything.

    It seems much more reverent.

What is wrong with women doing responses and leading the rosary?

  • There is no female active participation in the Mass.  Even when Mass was offered every morning in a convent, there were altar boys to offer the responses.

In church, women are to remain silent.  If the rosary is prayed it should be led by a male.

Women getting involved was the start of the problems after Vat II.

Nuns are allowed to say responses in convents if there are no servers I think
