  • Part of letter from French district lawyer:
    Quote
The association of worship of the "Society of St. Pius X" holds the copyright of its founder, Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre.  However, on your website you quote from the works of Archbishop Lefebvre (a 1989 conference in Econe, etc.) without any authorization.  Therefore you will kindly delete all these quotes within forty-eight hours.

At a social gathering yesterday in Post Falls, we were thrown in with old acquaintances from Immaculate Conception Church there.  In the course of one conversation, I happened to mention that the Dominicans in Avrille had been sent letters from a lawyer attached to the French district of sspx.  I described basically what the French district demanded, that quotes from ABL, taken from an old sermon he had given in Econe in 1989,  be removed from the Avrille site, with a thinly veiled threat of legal action should they not be.  One of the ICC true believers, a man in his 70s sat forward in his chair and asked, "Where did you hear this stuff?"  "On the internet," I answered.  Whereupon this gentleman indicated in so many words that the internet was not a reliable source of such information.  He dismissed the report out of hand.
Unfortunately, I could not refer him to CNN or Fox, which networks, we can easily assume, did not run the story.  Neither did I have a copy of the NY Times or the Wash Post handy,  or, for that matter, Remnant or CFN press releases to help corroborate the facts in his mind.  No, my only source at the time was the internet.  I did not bother to remind this gentleman that the sspx itself uses the internet as an information source quite extensively.  In any case, he expressed outraged incredulity.  His last remark to me, before he and his  wife left the premises in a huff was: "Tim, you are full of s__t!"  (I quote him verbatim)
This is what 25 years in the sspx, most of them spent in Post Falls, can do for an individual's intellect.  Multiply this man by at least 1000, or maybe 1200, and you have some idea about  how the legions of 'Fellaybots' think, (or refuse to think); and about how impenetrable their minds and hearts have become.  Lord, deliver the faithful from the sspx brotherhood of the zombies.
