"While the final docuмent of the synod on the Amazon is being drawn up,—invoking the figure of St. Francis of Assisi!—the two weeks of work that have just taken place have been dotted with events as grotesque and shocking as those that opened it.
The church of Santa Maria in Traspontina has been the scene of particularly scandalous spectacles. The images speak for themselves. Dances and pagan rites—vaguely Christianized—giving free rein to shamanic spirits rather than the breath of the Holy Spirit.
The Indigenous Way of the Cross
On October 19, the Stations of the Cross took place to the sound of guitars and tambourines, mixing the instrument of the supreme sacrifice of Christ with pagan incantations, incense, feathers, and bizarre songs, not to mention the outrageous canoe with its oars, its nets and its painted signs.
The stations of the sorrowful route that Our Lord followed gave way to the sufferings of the Amazonian territory: marginalization, social inequalities, indifference, and, of course, environmental degradation, pollution, exploitation, impoverishment.
Cardinal Pedro Barreto, Archbishop of Huancayo (Peru) and vice-president of REPAM (the pan-Amazonian ecclesial network) participated in this indigenous way of the cross: “The Way of the Cross of Christ today is to be found resolutely in the Amazon. That is why, in His image, as a people, we journey from these existential peripheries of Amazonia to the center of Christianity represented by Rome.”
It is no longer the Rhine that flows into the Tiber, it is the river of the deified Mother Earth that carries its syncretistic pantheism and floods the eternal city with its blasphemies.
Amazonian Pact: Vatican II Meets Native Peoples
The following day, in the catacombs of St. Domitilla, Cardinal Claudio Hummes, general rapporteur of the synod, launched a “Pact of the Catacombs for the Common Home,” a kind of commitment “for a Church with an Amazonian Face, Poor and Servant, Prophetic and Samaritan.” Echoing the approach of forty or so Fathers of the Second Vatican Council who had pledged themselves in 1965 to “a servant and poor Church,” the Panamazonian Synod participants have gone further by assuming “the commitment to defend the Amazonian forest” through the “integral ecology,” dear to Pope Francis.
In concrete terms, this means renewing “the preferential option for the poor” and “the native peoples” in order to “help them preserve their lands, cultures, languages, histories, identities and spirituality.” Behind these great words lies the detestation of oneself, the denial of a Church judged to be too Western and having never, finally, been able to understand these peoples and their cultures. Because from now on it is a matter of abandoning “every type of colonialist mentality and position, in our parishes, dioceses and groups, by welcoming and valorizing cultural, ethnic and linguistic diversity in respectful dialogue with all the spiritual traditions.” Even pagan?
It also means “walking ecuмenically with other Christian communities in the enculturated and liberating proclamation of the Gospel, and with other religions and people of good will, in solidarity with the native peoples.” The legacy of Vatican II mingles with the cultures of primitive peoples rebaptized as “natives.”
What will be the result of these verbose incantations that claim to do better than centuries of patient evangelization? The mists of the Amazon reek of a vast and very mediocre farce.
A Comforting Gesture for the Afflicted Church
The only consolation in this ocean of macabre buffoonery: the brave gesture of a Catholic man  picking up the idolatrous statuettes displayed in the church of Santa Maria in Traspontina and throwing them into the Tiber. A return to the sources, or rather the primitive sewers, that one would like to be definitive.
These figurines represent sad pregnant women symbolizing Pachamama (Mother Earth), a pagan goddess worshiped by the Incas. This is a cult that the cult of the Virgin Mary had succeeded in chasing out, thanks to the centuries-long efforts of the Faith and the charity of missionaries. Alas! that was before Vatican II and the inculturation and apostasy of the men of the Church.
"We wish also to make amends for the insults to which Your Vicar on earth and Your Priests are everywhere subjected [above all by schismatic sedevacantists - Nishant Xavier], for the profanation, by conscious neglect or Terrible Acts of Sacrilege, of the very Sacrament of Your Divine Love; and lastly for the Public Crimes of Nations who resist the Rights and The Teaching Authority of the Church which You have founded." - Act of Reparation to the Sacred Heart of Lord Jesus.

  • That was nice that their "new Roman friends" capitulated to the pressure the SSPX was receiving to say something, and, for the sake of the total collapse of Tradition, gave the SSPX permission to say something traditional.

If the SSPX was invited to speak of the Tradition of the Catholic Church then it doesn't appear to be the total collapse of Tradition.

  • It's good that the SSPX has featured an article from a blog which has outlined the travesties that have occurred at the Amazon Synod. However, the article appears to have been written a someone named Jeanne Smits, who, from what I can tell, is not a member of the SSPX. It seems that Jeanne Smits writes for Lifesite News.

When is the SSPX going to clearly outline the errors/heresies of the Amazon Synod in clear and certain terms? Is that too much to ask? The SSPX should also consider meeting with Francis, so that they can tell Francis, to his face, about what Church teachings are being thrown out the door at the synod.

"It is licit to resist a Sovereign Pontiff who is trying to destroy the Church. I say it is licit to resist him in not following his orders and in preventing the execution of his will. It is not licit to Judge him, to punish him, or to depose him, for these are acts proper to a superior."

They were invited to speak of tradition only after the fact that with social media, everyone including non Catholic Christians  are outraged at the public denial of Jesus Christ.

  • During SSPX meeting with Rome there should have been more talks about lack of morality and true teachings of the Catholic Church.  Sodomy and sex abuse scandals  should have been discussed but it seems to the world that the only thing discussed was liturgical issues.
May God bless you and keep you

  • So, we see another claim of the Resistance has been empirically falsified. The SSPX continues to attack the errors in the Church today.

Someone should write a book, As we are indeed: 101 claims of the Resistance now demonstrably falsified!  ;D

Or alternately, 101 Reasons to remain with the Society of St. Pius X, as the best fortress of Catholic Tradition in the world.

Meg, I don't think LifeSiteNews' Jeanne Smits is the author. It seems only to have been referenced as a source for the news.

I would say you should get to work refuting it.

Can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Jeanne Smits is indeed referenced as the source for the news. So it seems that maybe someone in the SSPX, who wishes to remain anonymous, is reporting news of what is happening at the synod? And this news is actually based on what others have reported seeing there?

When is the SSPX going to provide a clear and certain refutation about errors/heresies taking place at the Amazon Synod? When are they going to detail the doctrinal errors of the Synod? Since they are traitors to the legacy of +ABL, I don't expect such clear thinking from the SSPX anytime soon. Instead, they will rely on the work of others, so that perhaps Pope Francis won't think badly of them.

Michael Matt (who has been present at the Synod) recently put out a 24 minute video about what he thinks the Amazon Synod is really all about. It's very good. At least there are those Catholics around who are speaking out in person (not anonymously) regarding the Pagan Amazon Synod. It's unfortunate that the SSPX can't be bothered to do so.

    Lol...best of luck.

Would you like me to write your conclusion for you?

You can choose from either of these:

“And they lived happily ever after”

    Or

“Therefore, the SSPX has not made a single change, compromise, or contradiction.”

I think they both amount to the same thing.

But when you have it ready, I will help you publicize it, as the publicity will sell more of my own, and the cleverly disingenuous responses you will have to concoct will expose the sectarian spirit of an sspx (and their apologists) who commit to refuting book they have never read, a priori, simply because it goes against them!

THIS^^^.  I'm convinced that they're in lock step.  They probably told the Vatican, "look, in order to keep up appearances, we're required to criticize the Amazon synod.  But don't take it personally.  If we hope to draw the faithful back over to you, we can't alienate them just yet."
