Some precisions, real quick:

1-This sermon by Fr. Girouard was on Sunday June 02, 2013, in Aldergrove British Columbia. This was actually the very first Mass of the foundation of his parish of the Resistance. He placed his parish under the Patronage of "St. Joseph Defender of the Church".

2-The revelation from Fr. Wegner about the re-branding of the Neo-SSPX was made to Fr. Girouard during a meeting they had in October 2012, at the SSPX Langley Priory, where Fr. Girouard was stationed. The meeting's purpose was to renew his July threats to Fr. Girouard, following his sermons of the summer against an agreement with Rome, which Father had posted on the Internet. The mention of the re-branding was an attempt by Fr. Wegner to make Fr. Girouard understand the necessity of this change and of a reconciliation with Rome. The revelation had an opposite effect on Fr. Girouard. However, because of the threats, Fr. Girouard had to keep from publicly criticizing the Superiors.

3-When I talk about the threats to Fr. Girouard, it was that of being transferred from Langley (BC) to the Montreal Headquarters (St. Césaire). In July 2012, Fr Wegner had bragged to Fr. Girouard about how severely he had mistreated Fr. Damian Fox, and how he even made him cry, because Fr. Fox had published a sermon and a conference in Toronto that June. (The title was "The Frog and the Scorpion"). He had moved Fr. Fox from the Toronto Priory to the Montreal headquarters, where he confiscated his phone and kept him basically isolated. (NB. In July 2013, after a year of this brow-beating, Fr. Fox was completely brainwashed, and was released from Montreal and sent back, now very docile, to his native Australia).

4-When the text of the AFD was leaked on March 09 2013, Fr. Girouard talked against it from the Langley pulpit the next day (Sunday). A parishioner denounced him to his Prior, who directly told Fr. Wegner, who, on March 13, phoned Fr. Girouard and told him he was to move to the District Headquarters in Montreal (Quebec). He also suspended Fr. Girouard from public Masses and preaching, and sent a priest from Post Falls to do the March 17th Sunday Mass. This day was, incidently, Fr. Girouard's birthday, and Fr. Wegner refused the faithful's request for a birthday and farewell party for Fr. Girouard! The faithful had to secure a room at a restaurant to honor Fr. Girouard. Half the parish came. Fr. Wegner also told Fr. Girouard that, once in Montreal, he would not be allowed to preach, and was forbidden to criticize his superiors, even in his private conversations, or else.

4-On the advice of +Williamson, Fr. Girouard decided not to go to Montreal. Providentially, Father was then able to take refuge at some faithful's house on an island in BC, so as to be able to organize, at a distance, a group of Langley parishioners he had been instructing about the shenanigans since June 2012. When that group understood all the doctrinal aspects and was ready to leave the Neo-SSPX, Father came back to the mainland, and after 3 weeks of looking for an apartment for Father and a hall for Mass, the group had their first Mass, on June 02, 2013, and that is when Father decided to start his first video sermon with a BANG. And I dare say, it was "a shot heard around the world".

The parish, albeit much smaller, is still going on.
Thank you for sharing that history. Several other resistance priests and bishops have similar stories from 2012. Getting suspended, transferred, sent on retreat or sabbatical, etc. then getting hit for "disobedience". Parishioners being told it's a sin to attend their Masses/support them. Priests sent away with nothing but the clothes on their back, no vestments, no health insurance, no car. Saying Mass in rented spaces and hotel rooms, requiem Masses at funeral homes. Weddings in strange places. The resistance priests have suffered much.

Most Catholics misapprehend propositions from commands.  Propositions are either true or false.  Mary was conceived immaculate, the proposition is either true or false, and I either believe it or I don't believe it.

A command is, "Bryan, don't you marry that woman, I warn you."  Now, if we elope and run off to some 90-year-old, pre-Vatican priest and get married, it is valid.  The command was given to the SSPX, "Don't you ordain those bishops."  Putting the pope question aside (is he pope or not), the consecrations are valid.  I have never understood the hubbub about operating illegally.  We are dealing with pretended churchmen who violate Church law on the regular, meanwhile telling us traditional Catholics that we are bad people for not following the law.

Thanks for posting the above. It's been awhile since I read the account of Fr. Girouard's terrible experience with the leadership of the SSPX, which is scandalous and unjust. I wonder where Fr. Wegner is now.

I seem to recall reading way back that Fr. Girouard framed the letter from the SSPX (of his expulsion?) and hung it up, as a reminder of why he took the course that he did (I paraphrase here).

It's my hope that the leadership of the SSPX will one day apologize for their terrible treatment of Resistance priests, who were only following the good example of +ABL. It would take a lot of humility for them to apologize though.

In cold war  Czechoslovakia, bishops were ordained secretely and without permission from the Pope.
