Is it absolutely immoral for lay people to go to places like this?

    No.  Did someone say so?

    Orlando's Bishop;

Disney World is for the low rank priests, I will ride with style on my "Virginia World" financed by the 30 silver coins I received from the Jews.

  • Another thing that makes this type of recreation different from those of former times, is that amusement parks are very expensive.

According to the Sea World website, a one-day adult ticket is $89 ($79 if purchased online.) That doesn't include food and drink, always very expensive at places like this, parking, and souvenirs.

Mother of God, pray for us sinners.

    .......but....but.....but.....Fr. Haynos said:

"A good community life is extraordinarily helpful to a priest to help him stay faithful. Constantly bombarded by the world he feels very much alone."

"The priory is a home for priests, and as such is much the same as the family home. Married women are often told: if you do not make your home such that your husband looks forward to returning to it, he may go looking elsewhere."

Once upon a time (back in the old days), when Traiditional Catholicism used to reign, God always consoled ALL those whom felt abandoned, rejected, and even despaired when they devoutly prayed with sincerety for help.

    Now we have Seaworld!! Yaaaaay!!!  :dancing-banana: :dancing-banana: :dancing-banana: :dancing-banana:

It was seven people so that would be x $79 = $553
Plus lunch at that restaurant (my friend ate there once) for 7 men would be no less than like $400.

Now, from what I'm told by friend, the Sanford, FL Priory was struggling just to pay for the priests food and housing expenses for the three original priests. Now they have 5 living there, and none do any maintenance work, or cooking, or house cleaning. There are only about maximum 175 parishioners in Sanford and that is on a good Sunday. You are lucky if there are 24 people at all of the daily masses put together at Sanford.

I would expect that someone at some anti-accordista  would post something like this to discredit that "new" SSPX, however, to see it at the  SSPX.org site is quite surprising. How can these people be so idiotic? Amazing! That they went to SeaWorld to see the sea life  is one thing.  That they go to SeaWorld to go on the roller coaster rides, and to eat at THE most expensive restaurant in SeaWorld is another. That they publish an article on SSPX.org going on roller coasters and eating at the most expensive restaurant as something exemplary that priests, deacons, and seminarians (Fr. Davide Pagliarani  is the rector of the SSPX)
Seminary in Argentina)should do, is quite beyond belief to me.

  • The Seaworld is just the begining of amusements for the neo-SSPX........

7 We declare that we recognise the validity of the sacrifice of the Mass and of the Sacraments celebrated with the intent of doing what the Church does with the rites referred in the typical editions of the Roman Missal and the Sacramental Ritual legitimately promulgated by popes Paul VI and Jean-Paul II.

How about a nice hike, or a visit to a nearby shrine?

I would be thinking along those lines also. It does seem very poor judgement on the part of the priests and seminarians.

This story is about the SSPX Sanford, FL Priory

    From: http://www.eccentricbliss.com/2012/11/busy-sunday/

    Busy Sunday
Church was an all day affair today. After Holy Mass, there was the children’s All Saints’ Day pageant and a picnic. I brought quality wine to share — and stemware worthy of it — much to the people’s delight (last year was supermarket “wine” and silly glasses). After good conversation and judicious drinking came Solemn Vespers, chanted, with Benediction following. I learned that the Priory priests hold a wine and tobacco hour between 7:10 pm and 8:30 pm each week day.  I think that Bruce Rhea and I might attend on Wednesday. Perhaps this will become routine; it certainly does sound like fun. Fr. Vernoy, beware!

    From: http://www.eccentricbliss.com/?s=pipe

A necessity to fraternise with the Society priests at the Priory on weekday evenings between supper and Compline, I wanted something a bit more practical than my huge (genuine) calabash pipe.

[I do not smoke tobacco in any other form, especially cigarettes and even cigars. But I do enjoy the occasional bowl.]

    ---------------------------------
I'm reminded of The Cure de Ars, and how he only ate boiled potatoes and milk, and used all of the donations for the church building and the poor and sick. There's a man that men can look up to.

  • Let's try to go to the heart of the problem here.

Considering place, time, company, etc., it could be matter for discussion if this kind of amusement is suitable for priests, but in all justice, I don't think the visit to this particular amusement park was during Lent, however, two things about this could be said for certain:

    1. The spirit of cool "Life on the Rock EWTN catholicism" is definitely there; and

    2. Such amusing moments were posted during Lent season by sspx.org none of the less.

But, still, the truth of the matter is: This is just the cherry of the cake... the rotten cake of neo-SSPX and Fr. Vernoy!

Here are some reasons why we could say this:

This prior has removed all the books condemning Vatican II and the New Mass out of the shelves of the Church's Library. (After parishioners and Fr. Chazal sounded the alarm he's returned them - isn't he wonderful?)

This prior, along with Fr. Leo Haynos, have literally burned (Inquisition style) books against the Jews (Fr. Fahey's) that belonged to Fr. Hopkins from St. Philomena Chapel, Miami-FL.

This prior has called Bp. Tissier's sermon in Winona/2012 of "the work of the devil" in more than one occasion.

This prior is known for having tried to set up a meeting with the local Diocesan Bishop (Bp. Noonan?)

This prior has been known for his insipid sermons.

This prior has performed exorcisms during Mass against the "evils in the air" for at least a couple of times.

This prior has implied two men at the Chapel were "dangerous" because they were "old", "not married" and "buddy buddy".

This prior is known to have downplayed the existence of Purgatory.

This prior has fired the usher because he supports the work of Frs. Pfeiffer and Hewko.

This prior has threatened other families through e-mail, voice messages, private meetings and even from the pulpit.

This prior has tried to expel unhappy parishioners from the Church so he could charge non-parishioner tuition from their kids in school.

This prior ended up kicking these two little kids out (again, "literally"; telling a 7 and 5 year old to their faces they were no longer allowed in the school).

This prior has tried to get paid (through Step Up program) for the tuition even AFTER he had kicked them out (!)

This prior has placed a new priest to be responsible for Davie-FL and Miami-FL; and you guessed right: It is another French priest! In this case though, he doesn't speak broken english...  he doesn't speak english at all. (Well, maybe we could say "lucky them!").

This prior has recently asked $3,700 for a Visa. (I guess visas are expensive in France, eh?)

This prior has been saying mass at the house of a relative of the false, harmful, deluded and self-proclaimed visionary called Dawn Marie.

This prior has been destroying years and years of hard work from good and holy priests we had in Florida throughout the decades.

    The list goes on.....

So the thrill in Florida has been way beyond those of a mere roller coaster.

    Poor Florida!

It's funny how a "anglican catholic" can feel so at home at St. Thomas More Chapel, isn't it?

I'd rather have a decent but CHEAP supermarket wine than to drink their wine:

I spoke to my friend and he says there are no parishioners that work at Disney World or Seaworld that have ever provided free tickets. That every time the priests go to Disney World, that a parishioner has accompanied the priest or priests and paid for the trip and all expenses just like everyone else does, no special rates. He says that it appears on this occasion that all of the priests went by themselves.

He added, that there are like 6 people that do all of the work at the priory and church and that they are worked to the bone, slaving for the 4 priests and seminarian that don't lift a finger to do any maintenance, mowing, house cleaning, cooking or laundry. That the 6 people are martyrs, and to be commended, as without them NOTHING would function!

  • I find this thread very petty, bordering on miserable.

Oh Lord, grant us many holy priests (and many holy Traditional Catholic parishioners)!
O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!
    Praised be Jesus ad Mary!
