  • Remember John McLean's song, "bye, bye, American Pie"? We listened to it again today. It at the time was a song warning us of Vatican II and it's consequences. However, it is very disturbing, very disturbing how true it is NOW as the SSPX goes down that same road. History repeating itself. People just not caring--- "This'll be the day I die"

    and "Hotel California" ---http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUbTW928sMU
(a bit raunchy at the end)

We are living through this all over again, RIGHT NOW

  • ....Helter skelter in a summer swelter. (2012!!)
The birds flew off with a fallout shelter,(The Faithful)Eight miles high and falling fast. (SSPX)It landed foul on the grass.
The players tried for a forward pass,
With the jester on the sidelines in a cast.

Now the half-time air was sweet perfume
While the sergeants played a marching tune. (Everybody comfy)
We all got up to dance,
Oh, but we never got the chance!
    `cause the players tried to take the field;
The marching band refused to yield.
Do you recall what was revealed
    The day the music died?

    We started singing,
    "bye-bye, miss american pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
    But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye
And singin', "this'll be the day that I die.
"this'll be the day that I die."            (People just don't care)

Oh, and there we were all in one place,
    A generation lost in space
With no time left to start again.
So come on: jack be nimble, jack be quick!
Jack flash sat on a candlestick
Cause fire is the devil's only friend.

Oh, and as I watched him on the stage
My hands were clenched in fists of rage.(The Devil is on The SSPX stage in control)No angel born in hell
    Could break that satan's spell.
And as the flames climbed high into the night
    To light the sacrificial rite,
I saw satan laughing with delight
The day the music died    (Soon)

(While the people don't seem to want to do anything so they sing with the Devil..)

    He was singing,
    "bye-bye, miss american pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
    But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye
And singin', "this'll be the day that I die.
"this'll be the day that I die."

I met a girl who sang the blues
And I asked her for some happy news,
But she just smiled and turned away.  (You crazy? We're all comfy & "happy")
I went down to the sacred store
Where I'd heard the music years before,
But the man there said the music wouldn't play.

And in the streets: the children screamed,
The lovers cried, and the poets dreamed. (Chaos)
    But not a word was spoken;
The church bells all were broken
. (Bishop Fellay has silenced the Truth)
And the three men I admire most:
The father, son, and the holy ghost,
They caught the last train for the coast   (God doesn't bless this mess)
    The day the music died.

    And they were singing,
    "bye-bye, miss american pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.         (While the people don't care...just comfy)And them good old boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye
Singin', "this'll be the day that I die.
"this'll be the day that I die."

    They were singing,
    "bye-bye, miss american pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry. (If the SSPX withers away they will stay just dont take their comfy away.)Them good old boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye
Singin', "this'll be the day that I die."

That is just a little of what we get out of the song.

  • Why would any Traditional Catholic want to latch onto dead songs from a dead past to make sense of anything?  I hated this particular depressing song when it was popular and still do.  It has absolutely no relevance to anything we live spiritually, so why waste our time on it?

At some point in all this chaos, we must rely on faith such as of the kind we read today.  The kind of faith that believes in healing if only being able to touch his garment.  We learn of the kind of faith that heals, makes us whole.

satan is out to kill the Church with the venom of modernism, indifference, tepidity, spiritual abortion, you name it.  So what else is new.  The battle has always raged.  Why the morose depression kindled by some pop artist who is now white haired has no relevance to anything except perpetuating his depressive mindset.

So much of what we do in response to the crisis in the Church is based on worldly thinking, not faith.  We allow ourselves to be reactionary in our thoughts and therefore in our faith, feeding off of each each other to validate our own sense of a lost cause.

God sees our faith or lack of it and our outcomes occur accordingly.  It is imperative we not allow our minds and hearts to be dumped down into a sea of acceptance that all is lost with the SSPX.  I would venture to say that over one half and possibly much more including the priests would support resistance.  When the horrid realization of what the SSPX leadership really intends to do actually occurs, when the local Novus Ordo Bishops march in and demand chapels close, people accept Vatican II, people step aside to allow to be seated modernists who refuse to cover their heads, when all this happens, eyes will open.

The easy way out is to rely on cynicism such as the american pie song.  It is dead and always has been.  The easy way out is dead and always will be.

Stand fast and see the glory of the Lord.  Not easy. Depends on strong faith, prayer, and action.

There is alot to respond to but keeping it strictly on the song: It is a clear indication of what happened in the past and how it is happening again. That's the point. Perhaps you are not as critical or insightful as others are and so you will not see the relationships. Waste of time? To those who are not always vigilant and prudent it would seem to be a waste, yes. To others it just proves a point. Albeit in a cowardly way!

I can remember a couple of conversations in traditional settings about music like this. It is a topic for discussion.

Briefly, don't be dumped down about the SSPX? No. Hope. However, expect and prepare for the worst. Gods will be done. The whole world is about to get alot worse.

  • Friend, I understand what you are saying, but we already know there is nothing new under the sun.  We don't need a song star of the past to provide any wisdom to us or remind us that history of the evil kind does repeat itself.   What a waste of time and a worldly depressing one at that.

Hi John, I like that 'sign'. Can I borrow it for my next YouTube upload of the Frs. sermon?
"It is impious to say, 'I respect every religion.' This is as much as to say: I respect the devil as much as God, vice as much as virtue, falsehood as much as truth, dishonesty as much as honesty, Hell as much as Heaven."

    Good idea!

This one would be good too.

This image could be improved by adding "dollar signs" ($) and "star of david" stars around the border.

The SSPX is has been slowly dying for several years because zionist Max Krah penetrated the top echeleons using an 80 million Euro Jєωιѕн inheritance fund.

This explains the motivations behind all of Bp. Fellay's shenanigans.
    They were seduced by money.
    Woe unto them.

"Some preachers will keep silence about the truth, and others will trample it underfoot and deny it. Sanctity of life will be held in derision even by those who outwardly profess it, for in those days Our Lord Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor but a destroyer."  St. Francis of Assisi

I think this person was trying to show the history of V II repeating itself.  YOU may not need a reminder but not everybody is YOU. In fact there is only one YOU. Who's to say your neighbor's eyes wouldn't be opened after having that song explained to them? Anyway, Not a big deal.

When wreckovation and Clown Masses and all the rest arrived in the wake of Vatican II, the vast majority of people, WHO HAD BEEN FORMED PRIOR TO VATICAN II, ended up going along with it, despite many of them not being terribly happy about it. Who knows what will happen when history repeats itself in the new and improved SSPX? Some people will leave, certainly, once they can no longer deceive themselves, but many won't, I'm thinking. That I dare point this out doesn't mean that I'm indulging in worldly thinking, however. The Faith will survive and the Church will survive, no matter what Rome or Menzingen do. We know that because Jesus promised it to us, and He can neither deceive nor be deceived.
"Let us thank God for having called us to His holy faith. It is a great gift, and the number of those who thank God for it is small."

  • Did Don McLean say that that was what the song was about?

I like the song below better.  It fits very well into what Our Lord in His Mystical Body experienced then, at VII, and what He is experiencing now with the potential SSPX-Rome agreement.

    Cor Jesu sacratissimum, miserere nobis.

But one thing is necessary. Mary hath chosen the best part, which shall not be taken away from her.
    Luke 10:42
