  • "Personal Quick Brewing"--- I was sort of appalled and had to reread it, I thought it said "Personal Quick Blessing"...

    Oh wow!
The Silver City monks sell first class coffee and top-flight accessories !

But it looks like they got the idea from the monks at St. Benedict's Center in New Hampshire:
     St. Benedict Center

It would be nice if the New Mexico monks had some home grown originality.

I mean, even the Kentucky Trappist monks have been selling fudge for decades:

Maybe the New Mexico monastery could sell chocolate coated peyote buttons ?

    Just joking

  • YUCK!

We get enough of those in our house.

The thought of eating one never ONCE crossed our minds.

Even our cat won't eat them when we squish one on the back porch. So they can't be too wholesome to eat.

  • We ordered Mystic Monk coffee for a number of years, until they stopped making the flavor we liked.  It was quite good and very competitively priced for decent quality.

  • Chocolate scorpions.  Certainly something you wouldn't put in an Easter basket.

Or if he shall ask an egg, will he reach him a scorpion?

  • Whatever you do, don't contribute to the support of traditional monks.

Even better, mock and ridicule them enough so that other people don't contribute either.

Your rewards will be great in heaven.

This thread is not about mocking monks, but about the slow-drip poison evinced by this enterprise being advertised on sspx.org.

It evinced a rather stark softening in content, and move away from battle related topics which the site was designed to provide.

As I mentioned elsewhere, the website is scheduled for a wholesale revision in the next week.

It will be interesting to see what is omitted and added along these lines.

I am pretty sure the revision will not be merely stylistic.

I am equally sure the district did not decide to revamp the website because it had nothing better to do.

Finally, anyone want to bet Bishop Fellay's early Letters which contradict his axcordista position don't make the cut?

    Define "traditional."

    Good question!

The St. Benedict's Center, in New Hampshire is the remnant of Father Feeney's group.

I liked them, but in recent times they've taken on a Diocesan indult priest, named Fr. David Phillipson.

In 2011, I heard him give a retreat lecture defending Guadium et Spes. Msgr. Williamson has lectured about the problems with this VII docuмent.

One example was that it put "conjugal love" ahead of having children as the first priority for the Sacrament of Matrimony.

Fr. Phillipson's lecture fit-in nicely with the recent newChurch campaign "Vatican II was just misunderstood"

It made me conclude a diocesan indult fox was in the Monk's henhouse.

You may recall in his Menzingen CNS interview, even Bp. Fellay had fallen for the same conciliar ruse, "...that the Council was just misunderstood".

I do not understand why you are discouraging people from buying the coffee and supporting the monks. Surely it is an act of charity to financially support those who dedicate their lives to God? Why would you discourage that?

They are opposed to modernism and they follow the traditional rule of St. Benedict.
