April 12, 1820: "I had another vision of the great tribulation. It seems to me that a concession was demanded from the clergy which could not be granted. I saw many older priests, especially one, who wept bitterly. A few younger ones were also weeping. But others, and the lukewarm among them, readily did what was demanded. It was as if people were splitting into two camps."

I saw that when I was in Washington,DC back in the 1960's at St Dominic's
where the older Priests were weeping about the new order of things
coming in the wake of Vatican 2, and the younger Priests that were
eager for the innovations. And, some express hostility to the older
Priests that wanted to keep the older ways.
The results were a falling mass attendence and the lost of faith
among the faithful that persists to this day.

A think the prophecy speaks of Vatican II and the aftermath.
HOWEVER...
Being as the current SSPX crisis is a close parallel with Vatican II -- an echo of it, as it were -- it's not surprising that a prophecy about Vatican II also sounds like a prophecy of the SSPX crisis.

I figured as much. Still, it struck me as being particularly relevant to the current crisis in the SSPX which, as you say, is an echo of Vatican II.

I believe that Catherine Emmerich is referring to the Novus ordo. She states that a concession is demanded of the clergy. That concession was to force the priests to say the Novus Ordo. Terrible years followed Vatican 11. A few priests left and became independent. The majority were brainwashed and coerced into saying the Novus Ordo.
We have a mini Vatican 11 aftermath in the SSPX now. The resistence has been exposed by Fellay and his lawyer. Now, they are being marginalized and expelled. The rest of the clergy will gradually be brainwashed and small liturgical changes will constantly take place. At the end (how many years?) the new SSPX can again take 2 steps forward, and move into the union with Rome.
They tested the waters, purged the opposition, and will gradually move toward Rome. The new group that will formwill stay true to tradition. The winnowing of the elect is constantly in progress.

Her visions were for the Church and Churchmen in general, not the SSPX per se in particular....
the Crisis is just a part of the whole.....

How in the Hell can the Vatican and Benedict just continue on, ignoring this Post-Vatican II nightmare?
They ignore, ignore, and ignore.
This cannot be eternally healthy, surely.
