I have better things to do. I am WAY too busy to debate him right now. I have much bigger, more important fish to fry.
That invitation didn't apply to each and every man on this planet. It was meant as a general guideline. Debating matters on CathInfo isn't some kind of right -- it's more of a privilege.
Think about it -- all the CathInfo members would be watching a TV program, with no ability to debate the issue or rebut anything. How is that fair? That's why I said "let's stick to text, here on CathInfo."
And watch your mouth and your tone, Br. Joseph. You're posting on my forum. For now, at least.
I banned EM after un-banning him for a while, because he apparently persisted in stirring up a ****storm against Bishop Williamson.
As the owner and moderator, I have to be prudent about how many "zealots" for certain positions I allow here. If I allow 1 zealot too many, they become the nucleus of a mob mentality -- which could ruin the forum for others. Do you think I want to lose 2 or more "pro Bp. Williamson" members because I allow 1 too many "anti Bp. Williamson" members? That would be a raw deal for me, since I am pro-Bp. Williamson myself.
I'm the same way with Sedevacantism. Someone who can't rest until the whole forum is converted to Sedevacantism won't last long here either. They will be obsessed, bringing "the empty Chair" into every conceivable topic of discussion, and drive everyone crazy. And frankly, that isn't even good for the Sedevacantists -- considering that none of us, Sede or non-Sede, have had confirmation from Jesus Christ that our position is His favorite one.
But enough about my moderation style. That is not what is at issue -- quite the contrary. Most people like my moderation style, and that is why CathInfo is the #1 Resistance forum and #1 Trad forum in the English speaking world.
And I've said this several times before, but I'll say it again: I will allow people to insult me to my face, happily refraining from banning them as soon as you can show me one -- JUST ONE -- forum where that is allowed.
So far, no one has taken me up on this offer. To the best of my knowledge, if I went on any other forum -- large or small -- and insulted the owner to his face, I would be banned as soon as he saw my post.
You can't hold me to some unrealistic standard that NO human being adheres to!
If you insult any proprietor, homeowner, etc. you will be thrown out. That is quite customary in polite, civilized society -- both online and offline "in real life".
Disagreeing with me is one thing. Brazenly insulting me and showing zero respect and complete insubordination re: my authority as moderator is another matter altogether.
