  • To all those who love the truth, and want to possess the truth:

Just a gentle reminder, that you should try (as much as possible) to check things out for yourself. Especially on the Internet, when things are just a click away.

Sometimes, even people who mean well can distort the truth or even lie for what they think is a good cause. They might be letting anger get the better of them. They might lie about others, or at least give their "point of view" which doesn't always match up with objective reality. There are individuals whose point of view is so distorted that it borders on clinical insanity.

Forming the "big picture" and getting to the bottom of a situation is not always easy.

Yes, sometimes you can't even trust your eyes (in the case of photoshopped pictures) but usually you can. When you go to a forum and see things posted under someone's name, for example. You can trust that. My point is that it's much better to trust your own eyes than to trust an individual who might be honestly mistaken.

When it comes to the Internet, things that are just a click away, FOR HEAVENS SAKE don't be afraid to check it out for yourself, just to be sure. Don't trust people unless you are absolutely sure about them. That includes me.

Actually, the point of this thread is that EVEN WHEN YOU'RE A FAN of someone, trusting him for the most part, you might want to click that link, just in case that man you've followed for years is going off the deep end in this one case. It happens to the best of us, at least from time to time.

So when someone says, "That Jack the Trad's Blog - he's going to Hell. He's full of slander and gossip." You really should check it out for yourself, and not just take the person's word for it. You might honestly not care, or not have time. But really...it doesn't take long to Google "Jack the Trad's blog" and see for yourself.

Just think back to May 2012. The SSPX said this about CathInfo. What SHOULD people have done? They should have come here to check it out for themselves. They might have had their eyes opened.

How about that Puritan man who thinks God made a mistake attaching pleasure to sɛҳuąƖ activity? He had nothing nice to say about me or CathInfo. If you were a reader of his site, should you check out CathInfo for yourself, or just believe him because he has so many apparently "traditional" articles on his site?

I think we need to all start testing the spirits, and checking things out for ourselves. Truth would prevail, and lies would fail MUCH MORE OFTEN if we did!

  • When you're a fan or supportive reader of someone, you should still click that link just to make sure your personage of choice is right ABOUT THIS CASE!

That "someone" you trust/follow/read could be, IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER,

    Bishop Williamson
    Fr. Zendejas
    Fr. Pfeiffer
    Fr. Hewko
    Fr. Voigt
    Bishop Fellay
    TradCatKnight
    The Recusant
    CathInfo members
    CathInfo BANNED or ex-members
    Matthew of CathInfo
    Other Trad Forums
    CNN.com
even alternative news sites, like X22Report
    etc.

Just because someone has faithfully worked for years for the cause, or you believe him to be of good will, doesn't mean he'll never be wrong about something.

Last time I checked, NONE of the people on that list (above) was an oracle or prophet of the Most High God. Ergo, they are speaking on their own, and could theoretically be wrong from time to time.

  • And as a corollary to this:

Posters, bloggers, leaders, and other personalities WORTHY of being trusted believed and/or followed will endeavor to use reason, as well as any available facts, to convince you. If he is in a controversy, he will be willing to post the words of his enemy, and address the errors therein.

He won't just get angry and call names, or even NOT get angry and make insinuations and suggestions about his opponents, expecting, or even asking you, to trust him.

Long story short, good guys don't appeal to authority. They appeal to reason and facts. I've been in "truther" and alt news circles for a long time, and I've seen a pattern: good guys frequently and usually tell their audience "Don't trust me. Check into it for yourself." They really want people to have the truth.

Truth teachers and real "good guys" will use the best collection of facts, evidence, first-hand reports, and logic/reason available to him, to demonstrate what he is attempting to prove.

Remember the SSPX back in 2012? They wanted to make an appearance of fighting back, but they never actually did. They didn't cut and paste "rumors" from actual CathInfo posts and then dismantle them. Their "Empire Strikes Back" was all smoke and mirrors, and vain public executions of Straw Men (arguments that no one was making).

"Resistance to What" failed to blow up the foundation of the Resistance, and "Against the Rumors" failed to address or debunk any rumors.

Just like the "Patriot Act" is all about making us slaves, and the "Affordable Care Act" is all about making Health Insurance more expensive. That's how the bad guys work -- in an Orwellian fashion, calling night "day" and day "night".
