The very fact that we aren't with our dioceses makes us all vagus.

This is an absurd way of thinking

Are you serious? Is your hatred of the SAJM making you completely lose your sense of reason? I have to wonder.

You said "That, and the part you highlighted is not really significant to what the matter at hand it. I say so in a tone of kindness."

MaterDominici stated very factually and rationally, "The bolding is in the original text."

And your answer is not "Oops, I stand corrected!" or "Oh, I didn't realize that." or "I apologize for assuming wrong." but "Yes, but so what?"

"So what?"

I'll tell you "So what". Facts are facts, and truth is truth. It means you falsely assumed, it means it wasn't her that did the bolding. That's a simple fact.

Relax.

"So what" meant it paled in comparison the the substantive issue

Trads are the most entitled group of people on earth.

That we have the gift of faith which allows us to save our immortal souls is the greatest gift a human being can be given.

And yet we bicker over whether this or that.

What I am is a catholic. Living in a time of crises in the church when the pope and my diocesan bishop have lost the plot.
Full stop.

My obedience is first to Jesus Christ, then my bishop and the Pope. But since they can't be obeyed, I'm on my own. I can't be so pretentious as to think I should start playing make believe structure or authority. Make believe condemnations of liturgies. It's truly deranged when you take a step back from it all..

And you know the saddest thing of all? Is that people considering coming to us and see all this and think us all to be a bunch of whackos (not without truth in many cases) and decide to trust some modernist authority instead or some autistic sede group and put themselves on the path of much graver danger of losing their souls.

None of this should have been made public. I knew about it for years and shut my mouth precisely for the reasons above. So perhaps this won't go anywhere and we will see some kind of retraction by father brocard or clarification, but I'm not an idiot at the same time. Watch and pray

May Jesus and Mary grant that all traditional Catholics of every persuasion, may see everything in the light of eternity, and truly observe the wise maxim that Matthew has made the theme of this forum: "In necessary things unity, in doubtful things liberty, in all things charity."

There is another maxim that is useful for our times in particular, quoted in "The Spiritual Director and Physician", by Fr. Viktor Raymond, O.P. It is written by St. Antoninus, who, as Fr. Raymond remarks, was known for his rigidity.

“When,” he says, “a precept is susceptible of a twofold interpretation — one strict and the other more gentle — other things being equal, this latter must be preferred. The reason is because the commands of God and the Church have not been framed so as to destroy all spiritual sweetness, which must inevitably disappear under a too narrow and fearsome interpretation. The intention of God and His Church is not to prescribe the impossible, because, according to the law of justice, 'no one can be bound to that which he cannot perform.’ Now, in the new law, the word impossible would seem to mean that which is hardly possible, as presenting too great a difficulty. Otherwise, how can we explain those words of Our Lord, 'My yoke is sweet?'"

The footnote in the book where this quote is given (p. 163) has additional, beautiful points to consider for those interested:

Maybe I wasn't very clear. By going to a Resistance seminary you are going to become a vagus priest, unless you join the Dominicans at Avrillé, which has a structure. Some from Mgr Faure's seminary have joined Avrillé.
Two doubt's/remarks:
1) it's not completely true that going to a resistance seminary you will be vagus or Dominican... We may love , hate, disagree with ... the Sajm, but as dysfunctional as some people judge it, it is still a structure you can belong to, and which was created precisely to avoid seminarians to become vagi...
2) I am pretty sure no priest from Bp Faure's seminary joined the Dominican ...

Regarding #1, the sajm actually has several of these seminarians ordained priests who are doing their priestly apostolate, as sajm members, not vagi...
