Yes, but so what?

Are you serious? Is your hatred of the SAJM making you completely lose your sense of reason? I have to wonder.

You said "That, and the part you highlighted is not really significant to what the matter at hand it. I say so in a tone of kindness."

MaterDominici stated very factually and rationally, "The bolding is in the original text."

And your answer is not "Oops, I stand corrected!" or "Oh, I didn't realize that." or "I apologize for assuming wrong." but "Yes, but so what?"

"So what?"

I'll tell you "So what". Facts are facts, and truth is truth. It means you falsely assumed, it means it wasn't her that did the bolding. That's a simple fact.

And Godefrey, I have no idea where going to Econe for formation came out off. We can fight that one out in another thread.
Which seminary our boys will attend is a critical question and any division in the Resistance makes this very complex. Having a bunch of independent priests around the world is OK if the world ends within the next 20 years or so, but assuming that we are still here in a 100 years, it is a real problem. Where do we send our sons? To l'Abbé Pivert, to Mgr Faure's Seminary, to Mgr Vigano's seminary?

I personally know one person who didn't persue his vocation exactly for this reason and some resistance priests even advised him to go to Econe for his seminary. He decided it wouldn't be honest and has since got married.

How can any authority be enforced without a real Pope?

The SSPX leadership knows this, and has developed a kind of cult of (blind) obedience after Abp. Lefebvre passed away. There has to be some fear or threat, otherwise, there is no good reason to follow this or that authority, since everyone knows that it is not a real, but merely a make believe authority. This is how the SSPX does not fall apart like the Resistance does.

In the end, it seems that people will naturally follow this or that bishop, simply because he has the powers that the priests don't, and people need him for the sacraments. So, the bishops naturally will have an authority because they are more powerful. Nothing apart from this will work, in my opinion.

You make it sound like there are many "resistance" options for a young man to join a seminary today.

How much "division" is there in the resistance in terms of *seminaries*?

Oh there are plenty of "independent priests" -- but they don't have any seminaries. A single priest, or a group of a few priests (friendly to one another) doesn't have the personnel or resources to start a seminary.

Lets drill down into that one. Let's double click on that.

So let's list the Trad groups that Tom hates with a passion and is inordinately opposed to.
1.  +Thuc line sede priests.
2.  The sspx-Resistance.

That's about 50% of Tradition, with the new-sspx being the other 50%.  I guess Tom is "all in" on +Fellay, new-rome and making a deal with V2.
