  • Proposal:  To pray the 54-day Rosary Novenas.

    3 novenas (27 days) of petition, followed by 3 novenas (27 days) of thanksgiving, to Our Lady, beginning on August 25th, the Feast of King Saint Louis IX, ending on October 17th, the Feast of Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque.

    The intention:  That the SSPX will be faithful to the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church for the salvation of souls in accordance with it's founder, +ABL.
    But one thing is necessary. Mary hath chosen the best part, which shall not be taken away from her.
    Luke 10:42

    Here is the link where you can find the manner of doing the novenas.  The gems at the bottom of the page are for forwarding/backwarding.  I chose the dates because both are French saints, which I like for +ABL.  Also, the first saint, being a King of France, works nicely with the last saint's mission for The Sacred Heart and the King of France at the time.  We are still laden down with the Revolution  that occurred at that time.   And now, of course, we are awaiting the consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart.

  • Here is some matter for meditation for the Rosary Novenas.

    From the tome of Rev. Fr. Thomas Livius, C.Ss.R., Mary in the Epistles, or, The Implicit Teaching of the Apostles Concerning the Blessed Virgin Contained in Their Writings, Illustrated from the Fathers and Other Authors with Introductory Chapters (London: Burns & Oates, Ltd., 1891), here is a very edifying elucidation upon the text of Epistle lesson for the Mass of the tenth Sunday after Pentecost: one that would delight all children and servants of Mary Most Holy.

  • Another possibility could be a Rosary Crusade beginning on the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, August 22, and ending on the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, June 7, 2013.  I'm guessing that everyone is praying, but it would be nice to have an organized effort of some sort.

    No, Thank YOU, Domitilla!  So you know my evil twin?  I've decided to send her away.  I shall miss her.   :alcohol:

  • During the Rosary Novena, it would be well to invoke the intercession of St. Jean-Baptise-Marie Vianney, the heavenly Patron of Parish Priests, for the Priests of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X.

    From the tome Kyrie Eleison: Two Hundred Litanies with Historico-Liturgical Introduction and Notes by Rev. Fr. Benjamin Francis Musser, O.F.M. (Westminster, MD: The Newman Bookshop, 1944), here is a Litany in honor of St. Jean-Baptise-Marie Vianney.

  • In his Sermon for Rosary Sunday, St. Alphonsus reminds us how to comport ourselves if we would have the recitation of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary avail unto the efficacious fulfillment of our petitions, according to the adorable Will of God almighty.

    The text of the Sermon is taken from the 17th volume of "The Centenary Edition" of the complete works of St. Alphonsus de Liguori, translated by Rev. Father Eugene Grimm, and published in 1890 at New York, Cincinnati and Chicago by Benziger Brothers.

  • In Communist occupied Austria, the priests began urging the people to pray the Rosary daily.  When an estimated 10% of the people were doing this, the Communists got up and left, without one shot being fired.

    We CAN free the SSPX from the demons of Modernism and Lukewarmness if we pray and get as many others as possible to pray.  The Resistance has more than 10% on its side.

    Vatican IIB CAN be overturned, but we must pray and make sacrifices:
      * Pray the Rosary daily (even a continual Rosary novena until the demons are "expelled")
      * Have Masses said for these intentions
      * Make sacrifices
      * Offer up our Communions
      * Convince others to pray for these intentions

    I would vote for beginning on August 15th, since this is a Holy Day of Obligation.  Many will have the opportunity to attend Mass that day.

    That works well too.  You will end on the Feast of the Holy Rosary, and there will be space for a novena between the two beginning and ending dates.  Coincidence?

    Speaking of coincidences -- I just received a 54-day Rosary Novena tracker from Fr. Gruner's organization (for other intentions), which begins on -- get this -- August 15 and ends on Oct. 7.  :)

    Okay, I'm in.  My family is beginning a 54-day Rosary Novena on Aug. 15 for the good of the SSPX, its priests, bishops, religious, and faithful.

    I'm also going to try to convince as many of my other fellow parishioners to pray this novena too.

  • From the tome Spiritual Riches of the Rosary Mysteries by Rev. Fr. Charles J. Callan, O. P., and Rev. Fr. John F. McConnell, M. M. (New York City: Joseph F. Wagner, Inc., 1957), here are some beautiful prayers that are suggested for a Rosary Novena.

  • In his work The Priest in Union with Christ (trans. Rev. Fr. G. W. Shelton; Westminster, MD: The Newman Press, 1954), Rev. Fr. Reginald Garrigou-Lagrange illustrates with theological acuteness and spiritual unction how Our Lady's tutelage and patronage are morally necessary for the Priest in order to competently and decorously carry out the offices of his sacred state.

    May following pages inflame us with zeal and filial confidence in Our Lady's unfathomable power and loving-kindness during the Rosary Novenas, whereby we may efficaciously commend our Priests unto her Immaculate and Sorrowful Heart, that they may be protected from the infection of modernism and the deleterious consequences of tepidity and pusillanimity before the machinations and chicanery of the enemies of Holy Mother Church.

  • Here is another useful prayer for the Rosary Novenas.

    From the tome Manuale C.Ss.R. (New York: Provincial Residence, 1955), here is the beautiful prayer whereby Pope Pius XII, by his supreme authority, consecrated the human race unto the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

    Perhaps it was this Consecration that endued the Holy Rosary with the exceeding great efficacy and unspeakable power that we witness in the lives of countless of Catholics, especially in the present age.

  • From an euchological appendix in the tome Spiritual Riches of the Rosary Mysteries by Rev. Fr. Charles J. Callan, O. P., and Rev. Fr. John F. McConnell, M. M. (New York City: Joseph F. Wagner, Inc., 1957), here is a Novena to Our Lady of the Rosary at Fatima, which may easily be prayed as a Rosary Novena.
