  • I'll be away from the computer quite a bit tomorrow, as I'll be hosting Fr. Pfeiffer here.

Praying for a large turnout! And praying that the 2nd air conditioning unit is delivered on time tomorrow...last minute purchase, unfortunately, but better late than never! The Texas heat is unforgiving in August, especially for those attending Mass in a small warehouse...

     :cowboy:

Long live the Resistance and Archbishop Lefebvre's legacy to preserve Tradition!

  • What a great example for you are setting for your children, seeing the effort you put into making a chapel and hosting. They will always have this gift of seeing their parent's dedication.

    Dear Matthew,

Please tell Fr. Pfeiffer that I am very happy to hear this
news, and that all of CathInfo welcomes him, even if
we cannot be there in person.  Tell him that any CI
members who do not agree should step forward to be
    BANNED immediately.

    HAHAHAHAHA ~~~~~~~~~~~   :cowboy:

    But seriously,
A water cooler or a big tub with water bottles and covered
with ice cubes is really impressive after Mass.   (Actually,
    a few .......... )

In any event, this is the 96th anniversary of the abduction
of the 3 shepherd children at Fatima by the Freemason
from Ourem.  When the heat starts getting to you, just
recall the innocent children who were threatened with
being boiled alive in oil.  Recall they spent the rest of their
lives doing voluntary penance in reparation for sins
committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary, in
reparation for sins of the flesh for which more souls go
to hell than for any other reason, in atonement for the
cruel, cold indifference and outrage to which the Sacred
Heart of Jesus is everywhere subject, and to pray for
the Holy Father, who "will have much to suffer."

I always wonder whether Our Lady was talking about
the Holy Father suffering in this world, or suffering in
    Purgatory --------- or worse?!

And recall that when she returned, Our Lady told the 3
children (Francisco couldn't hear her speak but Lucia and
Jacinta told him what she said) that the Miracle she was
going to cause to happen in October would have been
EVEN GREATER if this Freemason had not kidnapped them
on August 13th, when they were on the way to the Cova
da Iria.  I'm left wondering how the Miracle of the Sun
could have been any greater than it was!?

~  Could she have meant that it would have been more
widely visible, over an area greater than 5 or 10 miles as
it was?  If so, then how far?  50 miles?  100 miles?  500
miles?  All of Spain?  All of France?  All of Europe?  Perhaps
    even Russia?

~  Could it have meant that World War I may have been
suddenly stopped?  Why not?  Our Lady could render all
the guns and weapons of war to no longer function.  The
bombs could stop exploding and the fire could stop
    burning.

~  Could it have meant that Portugal's Freemasonic
government would have converted or the Freemasons
could have just LEFT?   Why not?  That very thing
happened in Austria when all the Communists just went
away, after only 10% of the population prayed the
    Rosary continually.

~  Could it have meant that the October Revolution in
Russia would have been stopped?  Why not?  It had not
yet begun.  Maybe Our Lady was going to prevent it from
    even getting started?

~  Could it have meant that some great movement of
grace would have happened in the Church, to the end
that the Pope and bishops would more readily realize
the need for the Collegial Consecration of Russia to the
Immaculate Heart of Mary?  Why not?  Sure, this
request had not yet been announced specifically, but
recall that just the previous month, on July 13th, Our
Lady had told the two girls that she would come later
to ask for the Consecration of Russia - that was when
Lucia had thought that "Russia" must have been a
wicked woman, because she had never heard of the
    country, Russia.

~  Could it have meant that all the people who would
be present would see a greater miracle than the sun
appearing to fall from the sky, or than their dirty, muddy
clothes be suddenly clean and fresh as if laundered, or
than their feet no longer stuck ankle-deep in the mud
but suddenly standing upon fresh, untrampled grass as
if there had not been any rainstorm for 3 hours - as if
    the rain had never happened
, or than all the sick,
all the blind, all the lame, all the mute, all the deaf, all
of them healed as if they had never had a malady?  No
more split ends, acne, hangnails or hammertoes? How
could there have been a miracle greater than that?

When the Miracle of the Sun happened, there were
70,000 people standing in the mud with filthy clothes
due to the pounding rainstorm, and many sick and
lame among them.  When the sun returned to its
normal place in the sky, it was suddenly as if there had
not been any rainstorm, and it was suddenly as if the
sick and lame had always been well. It was, in a word,
as if the effects of original sin were wiped away.  And
this, at the hand of the Immaculate Conception - She
    who never committed sin.

    She made all things new.

But if it had not been for the kidnapping of August 13th,
1917, the miracle would have been even GREATER.

  • Verily, a much more agreeable topic:

Congratulations on having all your effort, plus sacrifices that undoubtedly must've been made by you & your family, bearing fruit at last.  Be sure to find time to have a photo taken of the "small warehouse" that also shows all your family.

Even writing as an independent traditional Catholic, I'm convinced that it would be to the overall benefit of traditional Catholicism, if a Abp.-Lefebvre-inspired Resistance were to regain control of the Abp.'s organization.

Note *: I'll understand if you consider it necessary, for safer posting on the Web, to place obscuring rectangles over the faces of your wife & family.

  • We had an "OK" turnout of 12 adults and 10 children, after about half the interested adults couldn't make it for one reason or another.

    * Our SSPX chapel's Legion of Mary was saying the Fatima Rosary on the 13th in front of a Planned Parenthood -- so one person (and the other person he was going to give a ride to) couldn't make it.

    * Some couldn't get transportation, their parents didn't want to go this time, etc.

    * Personal or other existing obligations conflicted with the event.

    * The Feast of the Assumption is in 2 days -- how many weekday Masses do they want to attend in one week? Not so much "want to", but how many do they have time for? Daily Mass is a pre-Vatican II phenomenon -- unless you live next to an SSPX priory or something. Daily Mass and 45-minute commutes to Mass don't go together well.

  • I recorded the sermon on video (using my tablet). I'm going to look it over, and hopefully upload it to Youtube.

I got some catching up to do first, though. I want to keep my job and all :)

  • Pretty sad for someone to put a Planned Parenthood rally before the Mass/

People that go to the Neo SSPX are castigated if they attend the resistence masses.  They are reported to the priest, who also castigates and intimidates them.  Lay people shun them
This happened here when Fr Hewko and Fr Pfeiffer came out on the feast  of OL of Lourdes.

  • True, Emerentiana.  The priest hasn't castigated me for reasons I won't go into on-line, but a number of lay people no longer speak to me, and quite a few that do, do so by mockery and insult after Mass!  Come September, the new priests, two of them, will be in residence.  So I shall see.  It'll be interesting to see what happens.  The nearest Resistance Mass is just too far to go to every month.  If I cease going to SSPX altogether, then I will go for months not only without Mass or Sacraments, but without the support of any fellow Catholics.  I'm not cut out to be a complete hermitess.  IF I can get away on a weekday, I'll gladly drive a couple of hours to hear Mass.  I did it for nearly seven years.  But no more.  I now have to work in order to make ends meet, and simply cannot take the time off.  At least I still get to Mass most Sundays and to Confession about once a month.  It used to average Mass twice a week and weekly Confession to the same priest.  Now, I take whichever priest is available.  No more ongoing spiritual guidance.  It's exactly like my so-called healthcare.  You take the doctor you're given, never the same one.  You go only when very sick or injured, and even then, sometimes have to do without.  I've had a hunch all along that this would happen; that the time would come when there would be no Mass, no Sacraments, because the priests would be very few.
12 adults is a disappointing turnout, IMO, however, a major problem with the Resistance Masses is that they are on such short notice.  Everything else in life is planned or planned for you in advance.  There may have been people at the SSPX Rosary who had committed to being there.  To break one's commitments for reasons of personal preference is wrong.  There have been Resistance Masses I missed because I'd made a prior commitment and could not break it without either sinning, (white-lie) or lack of charity--seriously inconveniencing, disappointing,  or harming others by my absence.
It's going to get worse.  Call me a prophet of gloom, but the time will come when we'll have no Mass, no Sacraments, no priests.  Even so, we can still have the Faith.  As Bp. W. says, "Pray the Rosary."  That is our lifeline if we want to keep the Faith.
p.s.  Happy Birthday to Fr. Pfeiffer!
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

  • Note that we don't have a priory here or anything like that. The SSPX doesn't have that big of a chapel here, despite being in one of the top 10 largest cities. Percentage wise, we're doing average to above-average.

The problem is, out of the 200 (?) people listed in the chapel directory, many of them are inaccessible. They disappear immediately after Mass without talking to anyone. I guess I could always put flyers on windshields :)
But would any of these people (who dive out the windows like the hero of an action movie, while the altar candles are still lit) respond favorably to an invitation anyhow?

And even if I were a bit too shy, the few people I don't talk to might talk to one of the EXISTING "pro-Resistance" folks. That's how a few members joined our group.

    http://www.city-data.com/top1.html

San Antonio has very broad city limits.

    So do Indianapolis and Louisville.

    Quote from: about Indianapolis
As of the 2010 census, the city's population is 829,718

    Quote from: about Louisville
Since 2003, the city's borders have been coterminous with those of the county because of a city-county merger. The city's total consolidated population at the 2010 census was 741,096.

If someone asked me if those cities were larger than Cincinnati, I would say no.

If someone asks "what are the most populous cities in the US" they wouldn't generally mean what are the populations inside the city limits.
