I'm very sad to say that I have heard very recently by a most reliable source who was in Kentucky that the situation there is less than stellar. Accounts of extreme distrust and lack of charity on the part of Priests, seminarians, between the BW and Pfieffer, etc. I have fears that the concept of a 'physical' resistance is doomed. I don't think it is of God. At least in the US. It seems that my fears have rung true: that the lack of charity found on this and other forums, is a sad view of the realities of the Resistance- at least at its headquarters. We may have the principles, the Truth, but without Charity?

Peace be to you all.

  • Too often, in this day and age, political correctness is mistaken for charity. Was our Lord lacking in charity toward St. Peter when he said, "Get behind me Satan . . .".

I'm willing to bet that if you there, at that time, hearing our Lord's comment you would have given Him a very similar retort.

Charity can involve correction, which can take time, words and produce hurt feelings.

Conversely, if you are blowing a rumour out of proportion, with the intention to disturb the Resistance, that would be considered uncharitable, at the very least.

  • Having finally had a chance to assess the situation and knowing a wide variety of priests, I would say this is all just a stage of development. Each person or clergy with ties to the resistance is hashing out where they will settle and what it will become for them. To me, it largely resembles how a priest initially leaves the SSPX and settles down to be "independent."

I'm very much in agreement with anyone who has cautioned against uprooting to follow the resistance. I hope that families and others will not make hasty or imprudent decisions.

Thank you BlackIrish. Nothing was said of political correctness. My information was obtained from a priest. You are new here, I think, and may be unfamiliar with my posts. I have a very clear way of distinguishing charity from political correctness (the latter of which, I have no tolerance for). Consequently, there is no rumor here. While I have shared my opinion as to the consequences of what I know, I have shared reliable facts, as I have heard them, to the apparent disunity which was witnessed.

That I wish to share this information with others here who have followed this resistance since its beginning, is not uncharitable. On the contrary, when one considers that many are being told to 'stay home' with no mass on Sundays, this may be very relavent information as to what you may choose to do with your soul, or if the head of a family, the souls of your family. People may choose to ignore what I have to say, which is their right, others may find the information useful.

I would agree with you 100% here.

I am with the Truth (by God's grace). In my opinion, as far as 'traditional Catholics' are concerned, neither the SSPX nor the Resistance have a monopoly on that Truth.

  • Not a monopoly, but some are trying harder than others to preserve the Truth. My vote goes with the priests of the Resistance. They are risking more and suffering more.

  • It seems to reasonable to speculate that the resistance is probably the final stepping stone to this:

“Then I saw that everything that pertained to Protestantism was gradually gaining the upper hand, and the Catholic religion fell into complete decadence…

In those days, Faith will fall very low, and it will be preserved in some places only, in a few cottages and in a few families which God has protected from disasters and wars.

It is so odd that you would post this because this is exactly what came to mind as soon as I opened this thread!

It's going to be tough going for a while.  Some people are going to get pompous,  it happens.
Truth must rule us all. At these times things are scattered.  The faith no longer is tied to an institution but to the faithful.  We just have to deal with that sad reality.
    Matthew 6:34
" Be not therefore solicitous for to morrow; for the morrow will be solicitous for itself. Sufficient for the day is the evil thereof."

  • Just to be clear, you spoke with a priest who is stationed in Boston and he revealed to you there is infighting among the priests there?

  • The matter which I find very concerning is that from the information we have from providence, we need to start unifying and preparing NOW! We are a tiny band and we should be tight in unity. We should be seeking to grow in grace and love of God before knowledge, in preparation for what is coming. Surely a proximate sign is Obama's banning of non-active duty priests from saying Mass in the US Military:

"Woe ! Woe ! Woe to the last century !
Here is what God wanted to show me in his Light. I began looking in the light of God, the century which must begin in 1800; I saw by this light that judgement wasn't there, and that it wouldn't be the last century. I considered, thanks to the same light, the century of 1900, until the end, to see positively if it would be the last. Our Lord made me know, and at the same time made me doubt, if it would be at the end of the century of 1900, or in that of 2000. But what I saw, it is that if the judgment arrived in the century of 1900, it would come only towards the end, and that if the world exceeds this century, the first two decades of the century of 2000 will not pass without the judgment intervening, as I saw it in the light of God." - Sr Jeanne Le Royer (d 1798)

(Vie et Révélations de Sœur de la Nativité, Charles Genet, book IV, pp. 125-126)

“The apostasy of the city of Rome from the vicar of Christ and its destruction by Antichrist may be thoughts very new to many Catholics, that I think it well to recite the text of theologians of greatest repute. First Malvenda, who writes expressly on the subject, states as the opinion of Ribera, Gaspar Melus, Biegas, Suarrez, Bellarmine and Bosius that Rome shall apostatize from the Faith, drive away the Vicar of Christ and return to its ancient paganism. Then the Church shall be scattered, driven into the wilderness, and shall be for a time, as it was in the beginning, invisible; hidden in catacombs, in dens, in mountains, in lurking places; for a time it shall be swept, as it were from the face of the earth. Such is the universal testimony of the Fathers of the early Church.” - Henry Edward Cardinal Manning, The Present Crisis of the Holy See, 1861, London: Burns and Lambert, pp. 88-90

    Matthew 7:26-27

"And every one that heareth these my words, and doth them not, shall be like a foolish man that built his house upon the sand,  And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and they beat upon that house, and it fell, and great was the fall thereof."

  • S2srea,

I've read your comments in the past, and appreciate your insights and your positions. I think, though I know not much, that it best you leave your original post as it is-- any embellishments will simply incite the curiosity of readers who actually are in the employ of the enemies of the Church. We readers, and Mathew, do not control all the readers or opinionators  on board these forums; hence can't control the damage that can be done be misinterpreted comments.

It is certainly true enough, "He never promised us a Rose Garden". There are always a lot of growing pains. The roadmap here is confusing, especially for those who want to insist that Bergoglio can somehow be a pope of the Holy Roman Catholic Church. With such a person, or persons, even with the heart in the right disposition, they are led into all kinds of bad errors.

If I wanted the Resistance to succeed, I would try and get the discussion around to how can they avoid the pitfalls and snares being set for them? There are  two priests (in the Resistance in the US)  that are trying to cover the entire United States of America, with the exception of maybe  Virginia and Kentucky (which have resident priests), visit South America, the Asias, Europe and Canada!! And they are trying to run a seminary! The souls of these priests need protection, bolstering, and strengthening, which we would hope and pray most genuine readers of these forums would see. This is not a criticism, just a comment.

  • John of Vatiguerro ( 13th cent.)

"Spoliation, devastation and pillage of that most famous city, which is the capitol and mistress of the whole kingdom of France," will take place when the Church and world will be grievously troubled: "The Pope will change his residence, the Church will not be defended for the duration of twenty-five months, and more, because during all this time there will be no Pope, no Emperor of Rome and no ruler in France. Afterwards a young captive prince shall recover the crown of the Lilies and shall extend his dominion over all the universe. Once established he shall destroy the Sons of Brutus' and their Isle so that their memory shall pass into everlasting forgetfulness.

"After many tribulations a Pope will be elected out of those who escaped persecution. He, by his sanctity, will reform the clergy and the whole world will venerate them for their virtue and perfection. He will travel barefoot and be devoid of fear. Almost all unbelievers and the Jєωs will be converted and there will be one law, one faith, one baptism, one life. All people will love one another and peace will last a long time.
