    Didn't Joseph Pfeiffer leave Winona for a year or two (1989 -)? I knew him from 1988 at the " new" Seminary.
Let's just say he wasn't a boring character.

  Is there still confusion about THAT incredibly insulting letter To H.E. +W.? Real or Fake?

  Great practice to pray for priests in particular...they are higher than angels.

I wasn't aware of that.  He was a year ahead of me there and was there the entire time I was there.

I agree that young seminarian Joe Pfeiffer was a different person in many ways ... always smiling, jovial, light-hearted, with a sense of humor, and didn't take himself too seriously.  I keep hearing that he changed dramatically after the camp drowning incident and was never the same.  In addition, when someone's emotional and psychological defenses are down, that's when he becomes most susceptible to diabolical influence (i.e. via Pablo).

I do not know about all this...   Kaesekopf  ?

I'm not the one who left the sspx and founded a joke of a "seminary", bringing in highly questionable "clerics".... 



The bane of traditionalism is clerics who think they can do whatever they want, with silence from their supporters.

Poor Fr. Pfeiffer, far more drama than he ever intended.

  What I noticed in him over time was  this:  At one point, he was probably the best English speaking sermonizer in the SSPX.  His sermons were long and detailed and he always made reference to his sources: "Today's sermon will be taken from the works of St. Thomas Aquinas, St. John Vianney and Bishop Fulton J. Sheen." 



  After a while, the sources seemed to disappear and there was this strange flamboyance and what I would call gilding the lilly onto events of Christian Revelation. He seemed to engage in a  new hyperbole without regard to its orthodoxy. 



  I first noticed it when he gave a sermon on the Annunciation.  The first thing he said that raised a flag to me was the concept that Angels have no choice of action in how to accomplish their mission.  I just don't know where that comes from. 



  Following that was the accusation that St. Gabriel was given sight of the Blessed Mother in all of her glory through the eyes of St. Michael at the beginning of Creation and he disobeyed his Divinely given command  he was so overwhelmed with the beauty and glory of the BVM that he blurted out the Angelic Salutation. "Hail Mary Full of Grace..."  in contradiction to the commands of God.



  I was flabbergasted.  I thought, what kind of garbage is this?  This is a perverted devotion to the BVM that some people have in which they make God the bad, mean old Father who just can't wait to hand out the whippin's and the BVM is the caring Mother who can sneak her will around His.  If anyone has ever heard, "When Jesus shuts the door, Mary opens the window."  They know what I mean unless they subscribe to that. 



  It's a mockery of the harmony that exists in Heaven and in doing God's will.  Our Lady and St. Gabriel are never, could never and will never be at variance or disobedient  to God's will.  He will never trick them, they will never try to skirt around His authority and will. 



  I found the whole thing a scandal and there were more irrational things said.  How disappointing from someone who held so much promise.  I would hope and pray that he can get his head screwed on straight once again and not have to give overblown heterodox fantasies for sermons.

Looks like he was ordained in 1994 AD.

Maybe he only left for some months in Sept '89...dunno. fr. G. would know.
