The Faith is not a hobby or a lifestyle to be balanced. Men posting about “avoiding trad Catholic burnout” or “fighting versus living” are retreating from the Cross. Vatican II poisoned the clergy with compromise, and the Neo-SSPX silences doctrinal clarity, leaving the faithful to invent half-measures. True resistance demands full fidelity to +Archbishop Lefebvre and the unchanging Faith. As Our Lord says, “But he that shall persevere unto the end, shall be saved” (Matthew 24:13, Douay-Rheims). There is no moderation in the fight for the Faith. Stand uncompromising, or flee with the crowd.

For example, Kennedy Hall’s video “10 Ways to Avoid Traditional Catholic Burnout” illustrates the problem. While well-intentioned, it encourages a mindset of moderation and balance that is incompatible with true resistance. The fight for the Faith is not about comfort; it is about unwavering fidelity and heroic perseverance. Watch the video here to see the contemporary temptation to dilute zeal in the name of “well-being.”

  • Burn-out needn’t be quitting. The toughest combat Marines need R&R, (Rest & Recovery, not Recognize & Resist). Change out some devotions for others for a while, go on a retreat, do a novena, get to know a new Saint)  Keep your heart in the battle while Our Lord refreshes you behind the lines. Then pick up your gun and get back in the trenches.
Watch some WWI or WWII footage or movies. Remember our enemy isn’t the Germans and the Japanese. He hasn’t surrendered yet, but we know he will. Hold out until Christ recalls us or He returns for the final reckoning.
