Burn-out needn’t be quitting. The toughest combat Marines need R&R, (Rest & Recovery, not Recognize & Resist). Change out some devotions for others for a while, go on a retreat, do a novena, get to know a new Saint) Keep your heart in the battle while Our Lord refreshes you behind the lines. Then pick up your gun and get back in the trenches.
Watch some WWI or WWII footage or movies. Remember our enemy isn’t the Germans and the Japanese. He hasn’t surrendered yet, but we know he will. Hold out until Christ recalls us or He returns for the final reckoning.
