  • Here is a quote of Bp Tissier’s sermon, given on the Pentecost day, 19th May, 2013, during the pilgrimage Chartres-Paris.

    http://lefebvristes.forum-box.com/t1731-Script-du-sermon-de-Mgr-Tissier-de-Mallerais-a-Villepreux-Pentecote-19-05-2013.htm

Unfortunately, a lot of people in France believed it was a good sermon !

    Context :
Bp Tissier spoke about Saint Hermenegilde.  Saint Hermenegilde was a 17 year-old prince, who lived in Spain.  He was put in jail by his father (the king) and condemned to die because he was Catholic, whereas his father had wanted him to become an Arian king (during the Arian heresy).  It was Easter, and his heretic father proposed that he would receive Holy Communion.  So he sent a heretic Bishop to his son in his jail to propose that he would give him Holy Communion.  Bp Tissier declares that the Mass of this Arian bishop was valid (even if it was not legitimate because of his heresy).  So it was truly the body of Jesus Christ.

Here is Bp Tissier’s quote :

« [Saint Hermenegilde] said : "No !  I will not receive Holy Communion from your sacrilegious hands !  Me, I am in chains and I am free to make my salvation.  And you are free, Your Lordship… Well then, you are a slave of the devil ! -because you have a wrong faith, you are not Catholic !  And I will not receive the Communion of sacrilegious hands !"  This is an example for us, my dear faithful !  All the beautiful gifts which could be given to us from Rome -- we are not prepared to accept them without examination, without considering the circuмstances in which these gifts would be given.  We require to keep our public and fully Catholic profession of faith. » (end of the quote)

    Explanation :

These words show that Bp Tissier doesn’t reject the principle of a practical deal anymore !  He defends here the first of the six Conditions made by the General Chapter of July, 2012.  Bp Tissier says it will depend on the "circuмstances"… He will negotiate with the heretics. He wants to examine the circuмstances under which the gifts are offered, and after that, he will decide whether he will accept or refuse these gifts from Rome.

On the contrary, Saint Hermenegilde in his jail, refuses all discussions with the heretic. He examines no circuмstances, and he rejects at once everything, totally !

Did Saint Hermenegilde say : « Let’s see… Before accepting, I must consider the circuмstances… Am I allowed to keep my Catholic faith if I receive Holy Communion from you ? »

How would the Arian bishop have answered, if St. Hermenegilde had said that ?!

    He would have answered :
« Well, I know that you are in jail for your Catholic faith. If I am here in jail in front of you, to propose you receive Holy Communion from me, it's just to please you for Easter.  I am not asking you anything in exchange. Of course you can keep your faith !  This Communion is just a gift, from your father to you. »

THEREFORE, Bishop's Tissier use of the example of St Hermenegilde to justify a discussion with Rome and an examination of the Roman proposals, is total nonsense, and it is a deceit from him.  Saint Hermenegilde’s example condemns Bp Tissier !  Bp Tissier chose an example that inadvertently condemns himself !

The example of St Hermenegilde, on the contrary, reinforces the Resistance! : just as this martyr refused all discussion with the heretic, so too, we must refuse all discussion with the heretic Rome -- so long as it is not perfectly converted to the true faith!  We must not examine the 'circuмstances'.

We know that Rome does not have the true faith -- that is enough !  That is sufficient !  We must imitate St. Hermenegilde, who examined nothing because he knew the Arian Bishop was a heretic !

God permitted that Bp Tissier, by taking this saint as an example, ruined himself by way of his own argumentation, at the very moment where, for the first time, he had exposed in France his adhesion to the principle of a 'practical deal'.

God permitted that this day, the good intelligence of Bp Tissier made a total mistake, and instead of helping him, the example of St. Hermenegilde has proved the opposite and it has helped us by adding one more argument to the Resistance !  This Saint proves wonderfully that we are right !

This saint is a beautiful gift from God to the Resistance !

Thank you, InDominoSperavi!  That's a lot to think about.
I hope you don't mind if I 'sleep on it'!

St. Hermenegilde,  ...........  Ora pro nobis.

(I have heard it said that unusual saints like to get prayer requests
because otherwise they're kind of forgotten.  And we are more apt
to receive speedy answers to our prayers when we pray to a saint
that hasn't been overrun with requests lately.)

  • Good idea, Neil, to pray saint Hermenegilde. I think that this forgotten saint will look at us with love if we ask him for help.

This thread should be linked in every thread that has prayer
requests.  Resistance members ought to know.

We have Pope St. Marcelinus, and St. Hermenegilde, as well
as the others we've been remembering to ask, like Pope St.
Pius X, St. Padre Pio, St. John Vianney, Pope St. Pius V, St.
Maximilian Kolbe, St. Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort, the
    Apostles, and more.

We have the Litany of Saints -- the same ones invoked by
    Menzingen at the recent ordinations!
                                                                                            :scratchchin:

I found this (following) on a website, and it is immediately
noteworthy that not only does the author admit to "irony"
(second paragraph) but he ironically claims the story of
these two martyrs, Marcellinus and Peter, "according to
legend" (which Modernists have used to expunge
longstanding traditional saints from the Mass and Calendar!),
had died in a secret manner, intended by their executioners
to cause the memory of their martyrdom to be lost --
WELL,,,,,, DUUUHH!  It obviously worked!  I mean, it may
have taken 1600 years before the ENEMIES OF THE CHURCH
finally cracked that nut, but they have brought their satanic
smoke into the Church through the crack!  (Cf. Paul VI)

    Source

According to legend, Marcellinus and Peter not only strengthened the faith of other Christians imprisoned with them; they also made new converts, including the jailer — a man named Arthemius — and his wife and daughter. Along with the other Christians, Marcellinus and Peter were condemned to death about the year 304; the two saints were taken to a wood outside Rome named Silva Nigra, where they were beheaded in secret (so that their place of burial wouldn’t be known to the Church, and in the hopes that their example of courage and faith would be forgotten).

Ironically, their names have been preserved and venerated over the centuries in the Roman Canon (Eucharistic Prayer I) used at Mass. Pope St. Damasus (d. 384) had, while a boy, talked to Arthemius about the two saints; as pope, he later wrote an epitaph for their tombs.

In sum, it is rather conspicuous that it is not difficult to find this
kind of example (that of St. Hermenegilde) among the saints -
THIS IS WHY THEY ARE SAINTS!  It is their unwavering ascent
to the One True Faith and their indefatigable adherence to the
Apostolic Creed and Sacred Tradition that MAKES THEM SAINTS.

It is therefore not surprising that this is found in the story of St.
Hermengilde, for it is found all over the Roman Martyrology, and
is a most COMMON THEME.  It would rather have been unusual
for the Bishop to have found an example, to suit his narrow
quest to appease the insatiable BEAST of Menzingen, that did
NOT have such an aspect to it.
