  • Unpublished: Archbishop Lefebvre raises the question of the validity of the 1969 rite
    Publication of July 10, 2007
Marcel LefebvreAn unpublished text by Archbishop Lefebvre on Mass and a study by Bishop Guérard des Lauriers. These words alone by Archbishop Lefebvre suffice to condemn the Motu Proprio Summorum Pontificuм, which aims to make the 1969 Novus Ordo Missae accept in principle and in fact at the same time the FSSPX . "The extension and depth of the change brought to the Roman Rite of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and its similarity with the modifications made by Luther oblige Catholics faithful to their faith to ask the question of the validity of this new rite. Who better than the Reverend Father Guérard des Laurierscan make an informed contribution to the solution of this problem, which however still remains under study? " Archbishop Lefebvre " It must be asserted simpliciter that the name is invalid " Mgr Guérard des Lauriers , 1977

Perhaps "N.O.M.", and the translator interpreted it as "nom", French for "name"?

Great deduction.  I bet you're right.  Thank you.
