The Hymn for Prime makes this prayer: May God screen and protect our eyes so that they so not drink in vanities. May He check and restrain our tongue so that it be not an instrument of discord and strife.

It is impossible that I did not commit sin last week when I turned my words against Pablo. This because it is impossible that my motives were perfectly pure. Given my propensities, it is impossible that I spoke without anger and without pride. Furthermore it is impossible that my words did not cause any injury to reputations or souls.

Therefore I apologize to Pablo and any others I injured or offended with sincere humility. The Act of Charity makes the following petition: I forgive all who have injured me and I ask pardon of all whom I have injured. I make this my own prayer and petition now.
