Are they pursuing it now?

It seems unlikely to me that the current leaders of the SSPX are pursuing a deal with the current apostate in charge...

Here it is from the new Superior General himself:

“Therefore, everything impels the Society to resume theological discussions with the awareness that the Good Lord does not necessarily ask the Society to convince its interlocutors, but rather to bear unconditional witness to the faith in the sight of the Church.”

Well so far there has been no announcement from the SSPX about Bellaigue and a deal with Rome which was warned about 7 years ago has not come about since then in REALITY.

Best to wait and see what ACTUALLY happens.  Just in case it is a case of Chicken Little.

If such was the case, and such a threat was made, presumably Bellaigue will soon announce their split with the SSPX and their joining of the French 'Resistance', won't they?

This article from today does not appear, to me, to be the sort of thing the SSPX would publish if they were seeking a deal with Rome.

So, I will wait and see what ACTUALLY happens.

What do you mean there has been no announcement about Bellaigue?  It has been announced by the General House to all the District Offices, and Bellaigue has now become persona non grata on all SSPX websites.

As regards no deal with Rome yet the formal deal on paper was only denied by Rome, when they rejected Fellay’s signed Doctrinal Declaration, in order to help him survive, and purge the Lefebvrists from the SSPX.

Meanwhile, the de facto deal has been happening right before your eyes, sacrament by sacrament, and jurisdiction by jurisdiction, and you haven’t the wits to notice.

As Bishop Fellay has stated, the only thing that remains is the official seal of approval.

For that seal, Rome will wait for Pagliarani to acknowledge 2+2 = 4 or 5 at the upcoming doctrinal discussions.  There is no other purpose for another round of discussions (particularly when Pagliarani announces that it will not be necessary for them to convince Rome in that very same announcement).

I suspect you are a newbie, and may not be aware that the Roman-SSPX plan to “proceed by stages” is 20 years along, and 95% completed.

Tge SSPX is now conciliar, and does not bite the hand which feeds them.

I apologise Sean.

Where is the announcement about Bellaigue?

Is this what you are talking about ?

If so then what is Williamson saying.  Dom Placide signed an objection letter more than 2 years ago.  It would hardly make sense that a senior SSPX figure would turn up and demand the property this year.

I am confused.

I’m sorry Tallin:

I am referring to Bishop Williamson’s announcement in his sermon in the other thread.

You are looking for an SSPX announcement to be publicized stating that because Bellaigue resisted Menzingen’s demand for ownership of the monastery, they have banished them from their websites?

Or from Bellaigue (who has never used the Internet in the entire history of the crisis in the SSPX?

Apparently you think the disappearance of Bellaigue from all SSPX websites is either a coincidence or an internet/computer glitch?
