  • Marie-Julie Jahenny lived from 1850 to 1941.  She does not appear to be as well known as she deserves, perhaps we could even say "needs to be"?  The following is some information on her which may be of use or of interest.  God bless you all.

  • Thanks for putting this in one place.
For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders, insomuch as to deceive (if possible) even the elect. (Matthew 24:24)

    Was this Church-approved?

The "Diary of Sister Faustina" was approved under JPII, and at the time he had not even read it, according to a footnote in the text of that book.

There is still a lot of controversy surrounding her evidently.

Similarly, the "Akita" prophecies, obtained full approval from the Japanese bishop at the time. But forty years later, the situation vis-a-vis Church approval is still in limbo.

Mary of Agreda wrote "The Mystical City of God," which received the Imprimatur back in the late 19th century, I believe.

Luisa Piccarretta is called "A Servant of God" by the Vatican, as of 2006.

Jesus said that His sheep do not know the voice of strangers and do not follow them.

I have found that the character of Jesus, His manner of communicating, His simple love, as well as simple severity, can be found in written revelations which span the centuries.

However, there is a counterfeit voice, bordering on hysteria, self-pity, and grandiose language, which afflicts some of the most well-known 'classics' of Catholic piety.

Something else to consider is that sometimes these "seers" and "stigmatists" provide voluminous writings, which frankly would take a lifetime of study to analyze and digest.

I compare these phenomena with Our Lady's messages through St. Lucia and Melanie Calvet of La Salette, which have a poetic brevity and clarity, even if mystery remains.

Going through the above examples, in my opinion, both the true and the false are represented.

This may not be the proper era to view the official "Church" as the best guide in these matters.

    God speed.

  • DePauw, you are right and I have found the same thing.  Regarding this  stigmatist/ecstatic, according to what I have read, her life and mysticism was supervised by the local ordinary and her spiritual director.  They felt it was of divine origin.  But because of the nature of some of her revelations - esp. those critical of the clergy and hierarchy, and those warning of their future evil machinations and failings - she was scorned, not believed, and criticized, and to this day.  This is what happened concerning LaSalette as Our Lady here says, and indeed to the Fatima 3rd secret:  Since it is not convenient to the enemies of Our Lord to have this information out and about, they bury it or at least condemn it and attack those who are involved or who believe.  That in itself can be a testament to its veracity -- "consider the opposition."  She was alive both before and after St. Gemma Galgani.  Her "calling" took place during the Papacy of such Popes as Leo and Pius X, and during the "old" Latin Mass, traditional Church era.

But here I say, read for yourself.  Investigate for yourself. And take it to prayer.

So it has not been officially approved by the Church.  Of course, given she died in 1941 there wasn't a lot of time for the Church to do so before the Vatican II sect came to power (the very people her revelation warns us about).

The prophecy of Our Lady of Good Success confirms much of this and Fatima and comes from an earlier date in time.

  • Then the Church will go through a dark night for lack of a Prelate and Father to watch over it with love, gentleness, strength and prudence, and numbers of priests will lose the spirit of God, thus placing their souls in great danger.”

    Well now.

From page 19 at the link above:

    We Are Warned
(of chastisements if the world does not convert)

According to Our Lord, as revealed and compared with the other prophecies of Marie-Julie, De Gaulle was a criminal to his country as he upheld the Masonic ideals of the Republic, rejecting the absolute monarchy of France. Throughout the prophecies, Marie-Julie continually announced Our Lord and Our Lady were preparing the coming of the Great Monarch and Angelic Pontiff, which many saints and mystics had announced centuries before her. St. Michael promised Marie-Julie he would one day come and smite the Freemasons from the face of France with his flaming sword.

France would once again be governed according to the rule of government favourable to Christ and restore Catholicism, raising it to a new height of unprecedented glory on earth. However, Heaven warned of terrible chastisements that were coming if the world did not convert, especially France, which would suffer first: violent weather, pestilences, plagues, cινιℓ ωαrs, the destruction of Paris, plus, a new list of chastisements that seem to be predicted to Marie-Julie for the first time;  a period of Two Days of Darkness that would fall before the famous chastisement foretold of the Three Days of Darkness;  a 'blood rain' that would fall for seven weeks;  diseases that have never been seen before and will kill thousands in a rapid incubation period.

However, Heaven also gave her remedies in surprising detail to counteract the chastisements and protect the faithful. Of particular note is Our Lord's urgency during several of Marie-Julie's ecstasies when the chastisements are described: “I do not want My people to be surprised,” that is, taken unawares. “I want My people to be warned.” We also know that these punishments and the Great Renewal are very close;  we do not have centuries left, maybe not even decades.

----- This would go to show that there is a consequence to
the worldwide rejection of the revealed dogma, EENS, and
that if the world persists in ignoring God's revelation to man,
then man will suffer the direct result of his own obstinacy.
In effect, after these terrible chastisements, future
generations will be faced with the knowledge of what
happens to man when man turns his back on God.  But then,
even that knowledge will eventually be forgotten, and that is
when the consummation of the world will be unstoppable.

  • Her lifelong friend, Monsignor Fourier, Bishop of Nantes, approved of her and her spirituality was conducted under his supervision and that of Fr. David her spiritual director.  In this sense yes, the Church approved of her.  The Church could not "approve" of her in the larger sense until after her death and her life completed.  But by this time we were 20 years or less into the realm of Vatican II - it was being prepared for by the wolves in the Church even before her death.  It is not to be taken seriously that the Church, on the brink of bursting into Modernism, would thus approve of such an ecstatic who blew the whistle on them in so many ways and for so many years.  Sorry we can't accommodate with a "Church approval" - but in a way, it proves her veracity as they wouldn't condemn themselves or bring attention to their malfeasance by saying this woman was from God.  Again, people must look into her for themselves and use prayer.

  • Merry, I do think that the observable facts of the past decades have on many levels confirmed this prophecy as well as the grave and similar warnings of Our Lady of Good Success.

Precisely put, to reject the revealed and absolute doctrine of exclusive salvation as found only in the Catholic Church is to reject the revealed doctrine of exclusive salvation in Christ Jesus.  The consequences were and are inevitable.
