Prayers requested for the Resistance

  • I have reason to ask for prayers for the whole Resistance.

From the reports I've heard, the devil is working double-overtime at the moment.

For example, a coordinator falling mortally ill, several parishioners getting seriously injured (broken leg, etc.).

Meanwhile, there is not much hope from the remaining SSPX priests to leave and join the Resistance. Every priest who was willing to leave, or was inclined to leave, has already left. All the remaining priests will stay no matter what, and will cling to any justification, even if the deal with Rome is signed on the dotted line.

Along with those prayers for the Resistance, might I request the St. Michael prayer as well...

Will certainly pray, however, I disagree. I think there will likely be several priests who will walk once the deal is official. Just my humble opinion.

  • Everyone who supports the'resistance' should have been praying earnestly for it daily for years now-- for its bishops, priests, seminarians, second and third orders, as well as for the resistance faithful. Also for +Fellay to change course. This would be a good time to prepare a novena for the coming feast day of St. Michael.

  • Yes, this is a serious attack.
Maybe we could pray the long St Michael prayer every day for this intention.

I disagree. I believe a good number of priests will leave if the deal becomes official. And I believe other priests will leave after the deal is official when the Novus Ordo masters order the SSPX priests to say the Novus Ordo Mass to prove their obedience.

Please pray for the repose of my soul.

  • For a copy of the longer version of the St Michael's prayer, please see

I too agree that the priests remaining in the SSPX are in the kettle of boiling water and may not find the strength to leave. Apparently Bishop Faure and some Resistance priests are more hopeful. Time will tell.
