  • Just curious -- why do you think one is preferable over the other?
Generally speaking, I prefer the CMRI, and it just so happens I have personal experience with this priest.

  • Yes, Bishop Selway/priests connected with Bishop Sanborn is/are still in Brooksville, but given the OP's situation, I think Fr Borja/CMRI would be the better option.
I also think the CMRI is best for a new convert.  They seem to be the most charitable when it comes to all the different opinions that traditionalists hold.
1 Corinthians: Chapter 13 "4 Charity is patient, is kind: charity envieth not, dealeth not perversely; is not puffed up; 5 Is not ambitious, seeketh not her own, is not provoked to anger, thinketh no evil;"

  • UPDATE: I suggested him not to go to the NO program and instead go to the Ukrainian Catholic parish. The priest is Ukrainian and was ordained in his country. He's under a bishop whose lineage seems to be 100% Ukrainian Catholic.

In the past, M. (the possible convert) expressed some desire to convert to Orthodoxy, so he may feel inclined to go there. I gave him some opportune warnings about converting to Orthodoxy.

I haven't explained him why avoid the Novus Ordo. He has my personal phone number and email address in case he wants to know more. I also suggested that he read some good catechism and learn how to pray the Rosary. He's a little bit erratic sometimes. Prayers for him are greatly appreciated.

Thank you all for your input. Our Lady keep you under her mantle.

No one should ever go to the cesspool that is Orthodoxy. But thankful he has started to find some options. God bless him on his journey!

That church is beautiful.  What is their affiliation?  SV or non-SV?
