  • Moderator: One thing I can say for sure: Fr. Goldade (pronounced "goldaddy") is from a large SSPX family in St. Mary's. He was in the seminary a few years ahead of me. He is most certainly an SSPX-formed and SSPX-ordained priest. He seems to be completely on board the neo-SSPX however.

The priest you're thinking of is Msgr. James Byrnes: the Novus Ordo import who hasn't been conditionally ordained by a Trad bishop, yet he offers Mass all the time there in Ridgefield.

    from Dawn Marie ...

This move has been necessary for a long time.
Why?  Here are just a few examples ALL FACTS NOT RUMOR.
•When Fr. Zendejas was transferred from the SSPX retreat house and a novus ordo priest one Fr. Goldaddy and another priest one Fr. Violette took over the first thing they did was to begin throwing out all of the beautiful statuary and artwork or selling off what they thought would bring them money.  They didn't stop there with their destruction.  Why?  Why would any good priest in their right minds do such a thing?  You'll have to figure that one out for yourselves because the only answer I can come up with is it is diabolical.
•Now at an SSPX chapel on the West coast the old vestments have been thrown out or sold or given away and replaced by the new novus ordo vestments.  Why?  Why would any priest in their right minds do such a thing?
•In Cleveland Ohio at the SSPX chapel there one Father Scott was caught throwing out artwork, devotional handbooks, cruets, candlesticks and even the furniture in the sacristy.  Why?  Why would any priest in their right minds do such a thing?
•In Erie PA on Fr. Heggenberger had decided to have secret meetings with the men of the Church after Mass each Sunday.  He told them that they were not allowed to tell their wives what was being said in these meetings under pain of mortal sin (WHAT?).   Well one of the men spoke anyway.  Fr. Heggenberger told the men they had to start becoming more involved with the una voce crowd, the indult crowd, and making contact with the bishop of the diocese as well as the more important monseigneur's.   He also told them that the consecration of Russia had no bearing at all on the crisis in the Church and had nothing to do with the remedy for the crisis.  Fr. Heggenberger dropped them from 4 Masses a month to 2 Masses a month to 1 Mass a month. By the time he was done with them they bought all he said hook line and sinker and within a year not one single person was found attending the SSPX Mass there anymore but rather the indult Mass across town.  Subsequently the chapel was closed and sold along with all of the belongings inside.
•Is there more?  Of course there is.  Just look around.

Interesting in light of the reports of Fr. Riccomini selling off stuff in PHX.

If this is true, they deserved what they got. Anyone that can be convinced so easily, was there for all the wrong reasons and did not deserve the mass and a valid priest. Same goes for all SSPXers that are alike.

It is ironic that once the SSPX brainwashes it's people into believing that the  Novus Ordo and the new ordination priests and bishops are valid, then they lose their people, there is no need for the SSPX.

I'm curious(please note, I'm no longer for/against the Resistance), did anyone care to ask the priest these questions regarding the two matters above?

It may be my slow mind, but this sort of 'leading questioning' seems very womanly and immature. Why should someone 'figure out for yourselves' what can be clared up with a simple fact. If a priest of mine was donning NO vestments, the first thing I would do is not stay silent, but speak to him about my concerns. If the priest was selling artwork, devotionals and other liturgical and non-liturgicals off, I wouldn't speculate for a second. I'd ask, a simple, "why?"

These “facts” are incorrect and the reason one should be cautious as to what one reads/believes from the internet! Get the facts straight!

I attended Mass at Ridgefield since the mid 80’s and was a parishioner from 1999 - 2015 at Ridgefield.

Father Michael Goldade is not a Novus Ordo priest. He was ordained in 2004 by the SSPX and was raised in Saint Mary's Kansas. He became Prior in Ridgefield after Father Zendejas left (2008 ?) till 2014.

Father Violette took over as Prior when Father Goldade was transferred and still currently the Prior.

The Novus Order priest you are thinking of is Msgr James Byrnes. He came to Rdigefirld in 2013 and was ordained in November 1986 by Cardinal O'Connor at St Patrick Cathedral in NYC.

Msgr Byrnes is the reason a few families (mine included) broke all ties with the SSPX as Msgr was appointed principle of the school.

I am not aware of any statuary or artwork being sold as Christ the King Church looks the same as when Father Zendejas completed the Church; beautiful Altar, statues, stain glass windows.

Physically, nothing has changed inside except the addition of a photo of the Pope.

Where did your information came from as it is not true?

. Having a NO priest take over a Catholic school is a good enough reason to question the neo sspx motives.

  • If the Dawn Marie can't even get such an elementary fact such as that Fr. Goldade is NOT a Novus priest then why should we even bother with the rest of the rather incoherent message? Her message seemed more like a rant than a reasoned and intelligent critique -- I am sorry to say.

Messages like hers make the "Resistance" look like disgruntled Catholics who don't care for getting facts correct.

  • In the end, these priests sspx and novus have to answer to God if they committed Simony.

I agree.  That type of stuff is why the "Resistance" comes off to many as people that just TRY to find things to be outraged by.  Many people here have done their due diligence, and report factual things that are cause for concern, but that type of stuff definitely does not help the Resistance out.  Although I think it is often traditional Catholics in general that can just seem to be outraged; sometimes for good reason, but many times just because they are so used to being outraged that they know no other way.

Rather than FACT, this looks more like lies, distortions, and opinions to me.  What one person sees as "beautiful artwork" another can honestly see as "old junk" and clutter, way past its day. We have seen it in our Chapel, in that some people just can't part with anything, no matter how old, chipped, and unattractive the item might be. This situation needs an objective person who can make decisions and part with things to clean the place up. Enter: a Fr. Scott.

The right number of good-quality statues in good condition can be attractive, but too many and in disrepair besides, can equal unattractive clutter.

  • Yes. Because the poster called Father Goldade a Novus Ordo priest even though he was not, I don't know if I can trust anything else said because if the poster was wrong about such an important matter they could be wrong about everything else, as another poster who went to Mass at Ridgefield pointed out that not everything in the post was true.

  • Apparently "Dawn Marie" is not a reliable source.

To answer B of A's question -- the first part of the post was a word-for-word copy paste of the +Faure announcement about the new congregation. The news about SAJM was posted on CI in a different thread almost a full DAY before this thread was created.

Sorry, Cosmas, but whatever forum you pasted that from is obviously an inferior news source to CathInfo. Probably because CathInfo is hundreds of times larger.

Moral of the story: if you want to find out today's news today, bookmark and visit CathInfo. If you want to find out today's news next week, be a member of the smaller forums.
