    The guy didn't like that I didn't buy his sentimental reasons to celebrate on a Jeep hood unnecessarily, and when I brought that up his parting shot was "God bless your wife, friend."

    Except, for some straaaange reason, I suspect he had no interest in obtaining God's blessings for my wife, but rather meant to say, "Your poor wife," and took God's name in vain in order to get his dig in (blasphemy).

    • So he was being a bit sarcastic and generally God should be left out of sarcasm.  Still, not clear-cut enough for me to moderate.  Like when you're super mad at someone and say, "God bless you." or "God love you". Maybe you get his reverse meaning, but I'm not going to moderate such cases.

    Any sin committed on his part is between him and God. I'm not going to judge the internal forum, tone of voice, context, etc. nor am I going to attempt to expunge all sins from CathInfo. Every violation of charity? Every sin of anger? Every incitement to anger? Every rash judgment? It would be a full time job.

    I say all this because, yes, blasphemy is not permitted on CathInfo.

    True. I'm happy you at least distinguished the difference (as I said above), because normally I'd expect you to report blasphemy, and normally I'd start out by deleting it, and then go from there (usually I'd permanently ban the offending member in question). I don't tolerate blasphemy, filth, heresy, spammers, and other garbage on the forum. But disputed points aren't heresy, etc. It has to be obvious and clear-cut. I'm not running an Inquisition. If I can't see the problem in about 2 seconds, I assume it's fine and move on.
