  • Papally Approved? Unexpectedly, a New Bishop for the Society of Saint Pius X

    Just a couple of weeks ago, Rorate posted an analysis of Pope Francis' moves regarding the Society of Saint Pius X (FSSPX / SSPX): The Vatican and the SSPX - Prospects for 2019.

    In it, our guest contributor revealed that the Pope and the SSPX are fast reaching a full regularization, but "by installments".

    Along with the abolition of the Pontifical Commission Ecclesia Dei, signed on January 17, and that also signals a path of "regularization by installments" of the SSPX, another piece of news dated from that same day also made clear what is going on.

    From French magazine Monde & Vie:

    Quote
    SSPX school Institut Sancta Maria, Wangs, Switzerland
    A New Bishop for the SSPX

    It has been several months that Bp. [Vitus] Huonder, bishop of Chur (Switzerland), indicated his will to live out his retirement with the Society of Saint Pius X. This time, it's official. Bp. Huonder, considered a conservative, is not only a friend of the SSPX, but close to Pope Francis, who had refused his resignation in 2017 [See Rorate's post from the time.]. In other words, one can live out one's retirement with the SSPX as with any other religious congregation! According to our information, Bp. Huonder would live in retirement in a school kept by the Society in Switzerland. In short, an example of this "statute by installments" enjoyed by the Society. With the agreement of the Pope of the peripheries. There it is, an additional evidence of the regularization of the SSPX. [Monde & Vie, January 17, 2019, n. 965, p. 19]

    Bishop Huonder is 76, and has wished to retire for some time -- his large diocese includes the largest city in Switzerland, Zurich, and his conservative views are not very popular with many of the more influential members of his flock.

    Le Salon Beige reveals, and Rorate's sources confirm, that the school in which Bp. Vitus Huonder will live when he retires is the Institut Sancta Maria, a boarding school for boys in Wangs, in the St-Gallen canton. Le Salon Beige confirms that, of course, the pope is well informed of Bishop Huonder's choice, and tacitly approves of it.

    Response from the typical neo-SSPX faithful:

                 "Let's wait and see?"
    "Some preachers will keep silence about the truth, and others will trample it underfoot and deny it. Sanctity of life will be held in derision even by those who outwardly profess it, for in those days Our Lord Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor but a destroyer."  St. Francis of Assisi

    A NEW BISHOP (CONCILIAR) FOR THE FSSPX

    Mons. Huonder and Francisco

    "It is evident that Monsignor Huonder does not leave with a dissident spirit and that the Pope has supported his project." This announcement does nothing more than corroborate the movement of normalization of the Fraternity of St. Pius X that began twenty years ago and is now almost fully approved since the Pope granted the sacramental jurisdiction for the sacraments administered by the Fraternity of Saint Pius X in recent years. "

    Le Salon Beige
    Quote
    He announced it to the priests of his diocese during the summer of last year: Bishop Vitus Huonder, current bishop of Chur, made the decision to settle at the end of his term in one of the centers of the Society of Saint Pius X, namely , in the Institute of Santa Maria de Wangs (Switzerland), a school that he knows very well and has visited on numerous occasions.
    Quote
    Is this symbolic? For the Cathedral Chapter of Chur chose Bishop Huonder on the eve of the Motu Proprio Summorum Pontificuм on July 6, 2007. His appointment was confirmed by Benedict XVI the following day. In 2015, Bishop Huonder was one of the prelates who participated in the discussions with the Fraternity of Saint Pius X, visiting some of his seminars. He was able to appreciate the role that this community played in the promotion of the traditional liturgy and spirit. Two years later, having reached the age limit, he submitted his resignation to Pope Francis, who decided to extend his term for another two years.

    Just rumors? Appointment of the interview with Father de Jorna, superior of the District of France of the SSPX, published on January 19, 2019:

    Quote
    It is said that Mons. Huonder, bishop of Coira, Switzerland, friend of the Society of St. Pius X but also close to Pope Francis , will retire to a school run by the Fraternity in Switzerland, with the approval of the Pope. So, is it officially possible to take your retreat within the Fraternity, as in any other congregation?
    Quote
    P. de Jorna: Indeed, Msgr. Huonder has said a lot about this project. But he is still at the head of his diocese. Realization is therefore for the future and only God knows it.
    How can someone say "friend of the FSSPX and close to Francisco" ? Suppressing in his life the principle of contradiction, according to the liberals. An enlightening fact: in 2015, this bishop made correct statements about sodomy, but faced with the reaction of ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ groups, he ended up apologizing "especially to people of ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ sensitivity" (see hereand here ). Monsignor Lefebvre would have accepted that a character of this profile would join his congregation? Never. But the Neo-FSSPX, in order to achieve the long-awaited "regularization", is willing - judging by the response of P. de Jorna - to be infiltrated by "conservatives" (liberals and moderate modernists) friends of the devastating Francisco,.

    Particularly interesting quote: "Monsignor Huonder does not leave [to the SSPX] with a dissident spirit and that the Pope has supported his project." one)   This means, simply, that the SSPX is no longer viewed as a dissident group with respect to revolutionary and apostate Rome. Very serious. 2) That the most scandalous and most openly liberal and modernist pope in history approves the idea, enough and enough to form a judgment about it.

    To clear any doubt and in case some dreamer expects Mons. Huonder to abandon liberalism to join a fraternity on the warpath with liberal, modernist and apostate Rome - as Mons. Lazo did years ago - keep in mind that in the preface to the 2019 diocesan calendar, sent to all priests and pastoral agents, Bishop Huonder reminds them that " all roads lead to Rome ". "We are Catholics when we are bound by the visible principle of unity with the successor of Peter, not only emotionally, but also and especially in faith ... I want our diocese to remain always united in faith, liturgy and discipline as the living cell of the organism that is the Church "( Source )

  • Six Questions:

    1. Why put a newChurch bishop in the St. Gallen trad Boys school ?

    2. Is it a coincidence that "Francis" and Benedict XVI were found out as being longtime St. Gallen Group members?

    3. Will Bp. Huonder undergo traditional Catholic formation or a conditional ordination as prescibed by +ABL ?

    4. Are the new SSPX "advisors", Bp. Fellay and Fr. Schmidberger setting the boys up?

    5. Will the traditional Catholic boys will be scandalized by the presence of a newChurch schism leader?

    6. Will the parents of the boys attending St. Gallens have the courage to pull their boys out of the school?

    "Some preachers will keep silence about the truth, and others will trample it underfoot and deny it. Sanctity of life will be held in derision even by those who outwardly profess it, for in those days Our Lord Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor but a destroyer."  St. Francis of Assisi

  • Incredulous,
    The reasons you give is the exact reason that the Archbishop set up the Society to protect it from the tainted N.O. At Vatican II they chose the world over the church. Now they, the ones running the Society want to ruin the Society by bringing the Society into the world in a sense. This will wear it down so that it totally blends in with the N.O. and the rest of the protestants in the world . Just another step closer to their" ONE WORLD RELIGION ".

  • SERVING A BRIDGE BETWEEN THE VATICAN AND THE FSSPX: THE MISSION THAT ROMAN APOSTATE HAS COMMITTED TO MONS. HUONDER

    KATH.NET

    After his period in Chur, Msgr. Vitus Huonder will retire to a school of the Fraternity of St. Pius X and, in coordination with Rome, will maintain contact with the Fraternity of St. Pius X.

    The bishop of Chur, Vitus Huonder, will retire after his time as bishop of Chur to Wangs in the canton of St. Gallen and will live there in the Sancta Maria Institute, a school of the Fraternity of St. Pius X. The bishop's spokesman, Giuseppe Gracia, confirmed it to kath.net on Monday. " This step is related to the mandate of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in Rome to Mons. Vitus to maintain contact with the Fraternity of St. Pius X, "said Gracia. The acceptance of the resignation of the Bishop of Chur is expected to take place around Easter.

  • That can't be the same Bishop Huoder in the pictures that will be involved with the new-sspx.  No way that he would associate with woman altar girls.  He must have been blackmailed.  Or, he must have converted recently and seen the evils of V2.  There's no WAY that the new-sspx could associate with such a liberal bishop.  (sarcasm alert).

    Reality Check:  The new-sspx leadership cares not for Tradition but only becoming a "normal" part of the new-Church, even if that means that "small" areas of Tradition be left behind, or that the new-sspx will be "updated" in "minor" ways, so that the pope will accept them.

  • This is the beginning of a terrible nightmare, a nightmare that will destroy the SSPX and leave the faithful without churches, without Latin Masses.

  • Here are some of the responses made to the Salon Beige regarding the bishop and his transition into retirement;

    Collapsus said;
    That's excellent news. Mgr Huonder is a very good recruit who has taken courageous positions against sɛҳuąƖ abuse and contraception that have earned him marginalization within the Church, despite having the ear of Pope Francis.
    Now that his career is behind him, he can move closer to an environment with which his convictions will be more in harmony. The beginning of a beginning of a movement? We dream.

    And Gaudete said;
    This is some good news in a short time and even if the FFSPX does not accept the Council, its priests and bishops are certainly more Catholic than many priests and some bishops who have a heretical speech, we will not go into the details, and try to lead souls to their eternal salvation, we can not say the same of everyone!

    Prout said;
    It may be precisely because he does not accept the Council .... which has rotten the Church, already weakened in the early sixties

    Hugues said;
    It's perfect !
    But when will a French bishop?

    Your "innocent" posts could best be described as that from a royal Conciliar troll.
